Ok seriously, putting books on probation is GENIUS!! I’m so glad you’re doing another unhaul “in real time” so we can follow your thought process. It’s inspiring to those of us who desperately need to do the same thing lol
I love the dreamer trilogy!! Ronan was always my favorite character and I love the whole vibe of this next trilogy. It’s definitely different, but I personally really enjoyed it!
I love The Dreamer Trilogy! And the last book, Graywaren, is coming out this fall. It's true that not a lot of people have been talking about it (although I do see a lot on Tumblr lol), but it's still so good. It's definitely a different vibe than The Raven Cycle and it goes places that I did not expect, but I love all the new characters. I had more than a few WTF moments (in the best way possible), but I'm actually about to reread them in anticipation of the finale. That said, Gansey and Blue only get a few mentions and Adam doesn't have a POV, in case that is an issue. But personally, Declan accidentally became my new favorite character.
You should do a read along for throne of glass, like 1 book a month and then maybe a live show/video to talk about them so that way it’s not as daunting to get to kingdom of ash. I say this because I’ve been wanting an excuse to reread them too 😂
I loved Vampires, Hearts, and other dead things! It's about grief, hope, and putting aside childish things. And vampires. The book isn't really YA, probably new adult. I honestly don't know if it's your jam or not but it hit me just right.
If you’re allowed to share more about what your internship entails and what you’re learning etc, I think that would be incredible for a lot of people who would love to be in the literary field :) sorry… the teacher in me had to throw that in LOL
Hailey literally unhauling more books than I have on my bookshelf- btw the cover of All This Time is sooo pretty and can't wait to read These Violent Delights 💌✨
Vampires, Hearts, and other Dead Things was a favorite book that deals with grief. The writing was addictive from page one and I really loved the characters and small friends to lovers romance but it’s very cheesy with vampires and has a lot of vampire pop culture references. I don’t think you would enjoy it
I absolutely love watching unhaul videos because it always makes me want to do it on my bookshelves ! it’s the first time i comment but i wanted to tell you that i really love your videos !! Also, I’m sorry for my English, I’m french and doing my best but it’s not perfect :)
"It sounds ruthless": if you're ruthless, I'm a cold-hearted monster :') I read a lot of mangas and except when I really LOVE a series, when it's complete and I've read it, it has to go :')
Call down the hawk was a 5 star read for me back when I read it. I'm yet to get to Mister impossible myself but the premise sounds interesting so I will hopefully pick it up soon. The second book is meant to be faster paced than the first if that helps at all. I would highly recommend finishing the Miss Peregrine series it is definetely worth it. Its always a good feeling to do an unhaul.
YAY! Love your videos and so excited to hear your thoughts on a bunch of books. I'm reading ACOMAF right now and damn i'm already not wanting the series to end. lol Thanks for your awesome videos!!!
The Kindred was my first read of 2022 and I really enjoyed the characters. The romance, the concept of having a person with you at all times in your head, is quite interesting. And there are some insightful nods to racial and class imbalances that caught my attention as well.
The Remnant Chronicles are amazing! You should definitely try the audiobooks. All of the narrators do such a wonderful job. I can’t recommend this series enough. It’s worth another chance.
Maybe a weird question: But when it comes to maintaining that rainbow shelf.. Your shelves look pretty full, like there are not a lot of gaps, so if you get, lets say a new book with an orange spine, do you move every book that comes after or how do you keep this up? ^^
Our Dark Duet is the only one I would keep hahah I was in the same situation but I reread This savage song on audiobook and then our dark duet also on audiobook and I loved it so much now is one of my favorite duologies!!!!!!
Vampires hearts and other dead things was realy good. It even stayed with me days after I finished it. It is not so much about vampires. It is more about the topic of grieve and how the main character deals with her father dying. And this serious topic gets softened a bit by a small romance. Please give it a try😜😉 it was also a very quick read. I finished it in a few days.
Ink by Alice Broadway is so memorable because I saw it in one of my favorite videos of yours, Come Book Shopping With Me in Chapters, where you use to work. Spark looks beautiful. 🤩
I think the last two book of Miss Peregrine's were great, but I am in the direct age rage for it. I won't lie and say that I remember what happened in the conference of birds. But I though the Desolations had a very satisfying ending to the whole series. There weren't any loose ends like the first three.
Hi. I'm very happy to see your videos and to see you smile. You are very beautiful both inside and out. God bless you. I pray that your dream to write books becomes a reality.
It's so interesting that you enjoy and like a first book, but then get rid of the sequels. If it were me, I'd part with the whole series. Sort of a if you're not worth my time, you're not worth my space (on my shelves). Not trying to be rude, I'm just really entertained by how differently people decide what to keep on their shelves.
Am totally with you. I have some trilogies that I want to read since I have them all. I have stopped buying series books, I’m like you not a fan of them because of Al the same reasons. I have also been skipping any book boxes that are series based and I’m okay with that. I prefer stand alones. But I am currently reading zodiac-academy love it
Actually ‘All This Time’ is completely separate from ‘Five Feet Apart’. It reminded me little of ‘You’ve Reached Sam’ but I found it to be just meh. I would recommend reading ‘Five Feet Apart’. I loved it! But only read it if you like sad books.
Well Played was meh. But the 3rd one (Well Matched) was great! And you don’t need to read the other ones. It’s kind of like the Brown sisters. Also lmao with Kingdom of Ash. I loved it but WOW it’s really long so I’d understand if you didn’t want to dive into it! Definitely gonna be using the books on probation idea!
I agree wholeheartedly! The third book was almost as good as the first and the potential couple are both secondary characters in all the books. It was satisfying to read.
I personally didn't like the 'The Beautiful' too much and I pretty much forgot everything that happened in its sequel. Funny enough I actually just unhauled them myself. I would love to see more of these 'live' unhauls'!!!
Dance of Thieves duology contains spoilers for the Remnant Chronicles. I'd suggest you read the trilogy before moving onto the duology or it may not make sense because the things they talk about in that duology is all covered/happens in the trilogy
I just read Blood of Wonderland. I thought it was the first book but I didn't feel like I was missing information. I was a really quick reed and gave it 4 stars.
I also enjoyed The Crown's Game and I read The Crown's Fate both recently, I would say don't read The Crown's Fate, I found it to be slow and not eventful so yeah don't keep it. I read Vampires, Hearts, and Other Dead things, it was very much about our mc going through the process of grief before her dad dies while trying to save him by finding a vampire. Most of the book is more about what she has to do to convince the vampire to turn them rather than trying to find one. I liked it
my favourite type of unhaul video is when you get people with already a huge stack of books and then they hold each up and decide whether they want to unhaul it or not and for what reason. it's like a bookish gladiatorial arena where the booktuber is julius caesar and i'm the mob watching with bated breath for the thumbs up or thumbs down
I've read One Great Lie and I wasnt a huge fan :( however, All This Time is super good. Its not related to Five Feet Apart at all, so you dont have to read that. It was one of my favorite books of 2021, and it made me cry so hard!
Jenn from The Book Refuge (booktube) is having a Sarah J Maas readathon from now until March 2023. That’s how I’m going to read Sarah J Maas, because otherwise I won’t.
I gotta stop watching unhauls cuz i get so offended when people get rid of my favorite books haha. I love the Well Met series so much and Not Like the Movies is so cute. Winterwood is one of my favorite reads. Just aaaah the pain at seeing this
I hate unhauling books. But if you haven’t read it for a year. I think it’s best to let it go. Or try to read at least one chapter of each and see if you will decide to keep it or not.
Maggie Stiefvater is my favorite author, but I think the dreamer cycle is just okay. She wrote it as a thriller, so just know going in that it’s a different genre than the raven cycle, because that tripped me up, especially in mister impossible.
It’s supposed to be a thriller? 💀 She’s my favorite author too but tbh I’ve read both books and was bored out of my mind I had no clue they were supposed to be thrillers
@@gabbywray5267 yeah! I attended an event for Mister impossible and that's what she said, that she wanted to write it as a thriller, as a different genre. It hasn't been my favorite.
I personally was very disappointed by the last 3 books in the Miss Peregrine's series. I don't think that they were needed and I still love the original trilogy but the last 3 were a definite let down. I debated unhauling the last 3 books but decided against it just in case someone ever wants to borrow the series from me. The Ronan trilogy is really good, at least in my opinion lol. If you read the first two books later in the year, then you could jump right into the third one because it's coming out in October. I love your videos, they always make me smile:)
I paused the video to comment that i think you should keep kingdom of ash just to have all of the books in the saga, but don't read it, just watch a youtube video with the summary / commentary of the book and be done with it, it's what i did !! i do it for series that i know i will not read but want to know their ending. watching a reader's opinion / excitement / disappointment on the book brings me "closer" to having read it myself and that's good enough for me lol
All This Time is an OK book, it isn't bad but it's also not a 5 star; however, there is a huge twist just past halfway that changed the entire story and I didn't see coming
