met Larry in 1984.when I was helping cousin run his bike in the IDBA days. really enjoyed watching Larry ,Elmer trett. Terry Vance make bike history.
I remember that. I was a teen on the late 70’s ……awesome time for everything including MDRacing.
It's a load of very smart people with the ability to translate their idea's into these stupendous machines, for the most based on forty year old Japanese street bike motors. Love commentators enthusiasm also.

When i was young i had the opportunity to drive an alcohol funny car at that time 250 was a really good pass so i can very much appreciate how fast larry and the guys are going standing at the starting line and watching anything capable of 250 is a eye opener. For the record never did drive that car scared the crap out off me just watching it go down the track Lol...

I've seen Larry Spiderman McBryde, years ago along with Elmer Trett, before his passing!!! RIP Mr Trett, but Spiderman was always that Dude!!! I even remember R.C. Russ Collins back in the day!!! Always a sight to see!!!

I wish the blown fuel bikes weren't so East Coast heavy with the racing, see Nitro Harleys of varying classes over the years but never Larry's bike.. definitely a serious bucket list item!! Hope it can happen someday!
Wow 😲 . Great video 'J ' . I'd definitely straddle 1 of those Bike's. The fastest I've gone is , 187 mph. Yzf 750 , swapped out to a Thunder ACE motor. Macomey slider carbs & a supper chip. That thing was fast. My good friend Dave Dunlop ( Fastbyme ) 😀. Did the wrk on the Motor.

I like the tool tray on the back of the red bike.
If you've never been to a top fuel bike meet, google it and find one near you, and go enjoy it. Like he said, it burns your eyes and hurts your ears, and you feel it deep in your chest. And these guys are very approachable in the pits.

I love how they are based on 2 of the toughest engines ever made.
I used to work for A&P Custom Cycles. We welded the frames totally made them half the time. Naturally aspirated high octane Gasoline. Air shifter though. Gas ported pistons O ringed Cylinder deck's. Ported polished balanced cranks Rod's and Pistons. 1327cc upper deck's. Sometimes 1340cc upper deck's. Those were the days. My boss Ambrose was telling me about the turned around head's no longer allowed in funny bike's rule's. We used the KZ series engine's, I loved the GS twin swirl Zuks, I loved the fact that they were air cooled. More simple. Yes great engine's. Welded crank throws.
I noticed the right side chain drive.
Front blower. I also am very familiar with nitro and it's different nitro content. And characteristics. Luv nitro. Amazing what Vance and Hinze did with the GS Series. Made their own steel or billit almost CAD Crank case's.

Cycle Drag get your facts right. Elmer Trett did not come up with the idea or first use of a reverse cylinder head as you say. It was Bo'O Brocta with his Terminal Van lines Kawasaki Top Fuel bike in 1981 that first used the revers cylinder head set up. He was also the first to exit the headers out above the rear wheel to create down force. I live in the UK and I know that. Very unprofessional Cycle Drag.

No way would I drive that motor cycle 250 mph. I broke my hip on one at 80mph. So no and not gonna do it.
