GARNISH PLATING IDEAS - Plate like a Pro

  • On this video, I'm sharing with you, different ideas of how to garnish and embellish your dishes making them even more visually appealing.
    While some garnishes may not add much flavor to your dish, many do, and a garnish should not be an afterthought. The garnish should be part of your dish and enhance the flavors or textures of your dish.
    The garnish can be the simple addition of fresh herbs, a sprinkle of spices or it can be something more elaborated like tuiles, crackers, dehydrated fruits, chips, etc.

    I'm from Michigan USA. Can you tell me how you prepare the little onion leaves that are cup shaped (0:42)?

      Hi there! Sure! I used small pearl “baby”onions, either yellow or red, cut them in half, peel, brush with some oil and add to a hot pan, cut side down first and let them get a nice sear, until the edges are dark, then I flit them and let them cook on the other side for just a minute or so. Just let them cool slightly to handle and then the individual leaves can be separated into cups. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
