      When this was playing around the winter of 1969/1970, I was a 15 yr old in Charleston, West Virginia, USA. We loved this song. This great group should be in the United States Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Thier in the Canadian Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

    I remember sitting in the back seat of my cousin's friend's car(they had a band)when he turned toe saying,"Have you ever heard of the GUESS WHO"? The Guess Who became my band. I think it was 1973 or 1974. We were in his white and gold GTO.

    Thanks for posting this. The recording isn't great, but I remember when this happened and I couldn't believe how good they sounded and how alive they seemed.

      Easy explanation: To keep the Rock Hall in Cleveland fresh, they only induct a handful of artists a year. If they inducted every one at once, there wouldn't be any reason to visit the Rock Hall more than once. The Guess Who will get in sooner or later. Have patience!

    Great stuff. They were paid $200,000. Fifty grand each, or 50 grand per song, Money well spent, as it led to the full on reunion tours of 2000 and 2001, minus Jim Kale, but with the great Bill Wallace and Donnie McDougal, an awesome 5 piece line up with amazing vocal harmony. Cheers.

    Low/bad sound and video blurry, but what a great song! And as with many of their songs, iconic, classic, memorable lead riffs.

      Yes I know the quality is bad. I took it from a recording from a VHS tape years ago. I still have not see anyone else have this on RUclips. Thanks 😊

    Poor Jim Kale. He really is a good bass player, and a decent singer, yet the camera maybe glimpses him for 5 seconds.

      I think Kale was alright but in my opinion Bill Wallace was much better. Just listen to No Time with Wallace on The Running Back to Canada 2000 tour, such tight bass playing. Just makes the song.

      @@michaellaplant8659 I always remembered the name of the lead singer… It’s Burton Cummings. I thought he was just the cutest with his dark big fat mustache. He is now 75 years old. Are you at the age where you maybe watch The Ed Sullivan Show when you were younger?

    • @michaellaplant8659
      @michaellaplant8659 Год назад +1

      @@charlenemack7040 Burton Cummings always had a great, dynamic voice and singing style -- needless to say. In the age department, he would be 13 years older than myself, actually. Oh, and I definitely remember the Ed Sullivan show on Sunday evenings -- but at that age (of course), I was mostly interested in the occasional appearances of Jim Henson's Muppets 😁 (this was shortly before the debut of Sesame Street). 👌🏽
