I've never seen a game that has most of the people in the comments being generally impressed. Most of the time, it's a bunch of people complaining about the smallest things.

I was asking myself where are the "When all animals are robots, what does the humens eat?" comments.
Honestly, after being level 31 after a lot of hours playing it and still not having completed the main quests I have to say the game is pretty much amazing! If someone asks me what don't you like about the game the only thing i can say is that I don't like the menu is in 60 fps. I get a weird feeling when I go back to the game from the menu.
How non-important is that? :D
The game is very smooth though, I haven't got any fps drops at all and I play on a three year old PS4, not the Pro.
So the framerate is amazing even at 30 fps. It's just that when you in the menu and then back out you get reminded that it runs at 30 (which again is not bad, i'm not bitching about it), it might have been better if it were all 30 fps

Well at the time of the comment i was 31 and it was roughly 10 days ago. Now i'm 50 as well and I'm just doing side missions, the rest is done apart from a couple metal flowers and vantage points.
I know this was published almost 3 years ago but HZD is one of my favorite (recently) new games of all time. So beautiful and you fight robot dinosaurs! Awesome!

My other Favorites TLOU Remastered, UnCharted 4 because I’m a Huge Naughty Dog Fan and GOW 2018 (which gives HZD a Run for its Money) also Exclusive SpiderMan is Great but Yeah HZD is One if the Best games of it’s Generation Hands down and not just because it was PS4 Exclusive, It comes on Steam and PC this Mid Summer and I’m not Upset by this because when PC and Steam players play it and Like it they will be Hyped for HZD2 and Buy a PS5 when they Otherwise wouldn’t buy One or other home console, Smart business Plan/Model to Milk a Game for all its Worth for 3+ years and then release on PC and Earn Royalty for It!

Horizon Zero Dawn looks incredible!! It is absurd actually. Guerrilla Games was always amazing at visuals but they tended to lack a bit in terms of gameplay, but it looks like they found their calling. I am willing to bet we will see at least a Trilogy from this series.

I've put almost 60 hours into the game so far and I'm still loving it! Based on the dialogue and skills trees I could replay this game over and over and never get bored
Just got this, and it’s hands down one of the most beautiful to look at games I have ever seen. Gameplay is smooth and keeps you interested

This is one of the best games ever made, period. A Heinlein-level sci-fi story wrapped around by a super single-player video game. Beautiful scenery too. And, as icing on the cake, there can be a whole series of these games before Aloy finally fixes everything in the end (I assume).
I absolutely can't wait to finally play it myself... I've been in love with this game from the first second i've seen it at E3 2015. And the long wait is finally almost over.
This makes me feel sorry for all those who play on Xbox. Oh well at least they have scale...nevermind

4 C it’s based in Colorado Utah and parts of Arizona, but when you get the dlc of the frozen wilds it’s based in Montana
That building is actually a real place! It's the chapel at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. I like how they are integrating obscure places into the game :D

Yes it is the USAFA Chapel. The game takes place in Colorado/Utah. The Geography is pretty messed up as the Chapel is South of CoS in the game but North in actuality.
And Red Rocks next to the campfire/corrupted zone south of Frozen Wilds :)
Yeah, the ruins of Denver, and Colorado springs are the starting area. Garden of the Gods is present in its full glory. And red rocks canyon
i love how he got excited by the pylon, i use to work for a tree company that cleared the way for new pylons, "right of ways". i always have the same reaction to pylons and other modern electrical/industrial structures

I just beat this game last night. About 50 hours of game play. Hit the level cap of 50. I didn't do the hunting lodge time trials and I missed a few of the metal flowers and other collectibles but I otherwise completed every side mission and errand plus all the cauldrons and tallnecks. As for the character and stories, this is easily one of the best games I've played in years. Aloy is a character who you can care about and the overall story was engaging IMO. As for the look and style of the game, I told a friend it's the equal of studios like Naughty Dog. Seriously the game was simply gorgeous to look at. And the combat was a lot of fun. Taking on a Thunderjaw, tearing it apart and using its own weapons against it. What absolute fun!
Honestly, if you're on the fence on whether or not to get this game, rest assured, it's absolutely worth it.
In a week and a half, I'll be playing Mass Effect Andromeda and I find myself wondering if Bioware can meet this level of story telling and character development.

I got this for Christmas and I love it. I like to ride some of the machines too which can be ridden and I also override them when I need to clear a path sometimes of other machines as they start to fight each other.

IAmThe GameBoy after watching live streams and videos of Zelda and playing Horizon Zero Dawn... Zelda is pretty looking but is also pretty bad, maybe if you're heavily vested in the Zelda world it's okay but this game so far is ultimately better

PlayStation always has good exclusives so once I mention them people (probably you too) say that consoles are weak (even though they have to mantain their budget, way lower than $1000), just get a (for +$1500?) PC peasesnts. I say that all gaming stations are great. People - especially from the PC community - don't get that.

a must , in the beginning there is a side quest to find mothers spear . when you find it you give it back to the quest giver . he says thank you . you then give him your spear and he upgrades it and gives it back to you . this is a must

Vantage points cannot be seen through walls by your focus. Look for grab points leading up and then use your focus to scan for a storage container above you. Vantage point will be near the container.

I think you'll spend most of your time dodging and running around, avoiding conflict or damage because your arsonal is slow to use. Like, you can't be quick-witted, agile AND aggressive at the same time. It's not necessarily about guns...but more about time taken to charge a bow in fight or flight situations...

I think the combat is going to be quite tactical as it doesn't look as if you can just steam in and take down the enemies head on. Probably going to be a lot of running away and dodging like you said but I think that could be quite fun. Makes you feel a bit more vulnerable and not extremely powerful juggernaut like in other games

But to be the advocate of the devil it makes sense that games usually feature male characters since the majority of the gaming community is male. I'm not hating or anything, I just point that fact out.
A truly fantastic game should feature a combination of both (not as necessarily as playable characters) and I don't think that it is luck that Bioshock and The Last of Us did it. Imo they are perhaps the two best story-driven games ever made.
I didn't say that, but if you check the ratios on online RPGs with male and female characters most of the players are males so you can easily come to the conclusion that most people prefer having a male character and most developers go with that plan.
NinjaCat And what does it matter? It's clear the devs want to tell a story about a specific character. People need to learn to suck it up.

This video has tempted me to get it now, while other videos just show off the graphics and many ways to destroy robot animals, this video shows more about the exploration parts that I like (similar to witcher/skyrim)

I played for about 3 hours and im really impressed with how big the world feels. You really do get a sense of the scale both vertically and horizontally. Its a blast taking down the robotic prey. I think it goes without saying but the environments are so beautiful and detailed they really used the PS4 to its max potential. I need to get off work to go play some more hehe.
I don’t normally play RPGs, or many open world type games for that matter. This is mainly due to the fact that they tend to copy each other a lot (with a few good exceptions) but I am SO glad I gave Horizon Zero Dawn a chance. It is now one of my favourite games of all time and I have changed my mind on open world games. I guess I taught myself a lesson never to judge a game by its type.
