Disagree with a few things: 1. Having no god doesn't necessarily mean you have no guidance - you are just free to set goals for yourself. But generally those goals are similar to the goals of any religious person - start a family, provide and care for them, be the best and nicest version of yourself, etc. Sometimes this freedom is a good thing , and sometimes it leads to the type of person you described. 2. Puberty blockers are generally reversible if you consult a qualified doctor. However, how do we know a kid seriously wants the puberty blockers, or if they're getting it because they think (or were told that) it'll solve their problems and/or depression? I think they should need a psychiatric analysis before they can be given to a child. 3. I don't really see how being trans is a mental ilness? trans people are still fully functioning members of society, and they still have to work and are as productive across all non-labour intensive fields as any other person. Disagree with a few things:
1. Having no god doesn't necessarily mean you have no guidance - you are just free to set goals for yourself. But generally those goals are similar to the goals of any religious person - start a family, provide and care for them, be the best and nicest version of yourself, etc. Sometimes this freedom is a good thing , and sometimes it leads to the type of person you described.
2. Puberty blockers are generally reversible if you consult a qualified doctor. However, how do we know a kid seriously wants the puberty blockers, or if they're getting it because they think (or were told that) it'll solve their problems and/or depression? I think they should need a psychiatric analysis before they can be given to a child.
3. I don't really see how being trans is a mental ilness? trans people are still fully functioning members of society, and they still have to work and are as productive across all non-labour intensive fields as any other person. Transitioning is just a choice they make.
