Could a dolly be used to move hives 300 feet after a trip to the destination? Or would the tilt of the dolly be bad while going over terrain? (I'd use a dolly with pneumatic /air-filled tires.)
Last night I prepared my hives (6 total) to be moved within my yard by blocking off the entrances with water cooler pads. I wedged the pads a little tight so I'm a little concerned about airflow. The hives will be moved today and reopened in three days. Anyway I've been a hobbyist beekeeper for about two years now and I have found your videos to be very informative. Thank you for sharing knowledge.
if you don't have a ventilated bottom board, or an upper entrance, or at least air flow...you might really have a problem, if I understand you correctly. Sorry I didn't get to your comment sooner, but I would check on them...ASAP.
Oops, last evening I released the bees and it looks as if some bees are dead on the bottom boards. I'll be able to check it out more thoroughly this weekend. On a positive note there was enough bees in each hive to swarm out as soon as I opened the entrances. This is a learning experience for me. I will never move bees again without proper ventilation. Anyway, have a great day, and please keep posting the videos.
FYI: always move them at night. Smoke them all inside. Take the roof off and add a screen top, "screen top only. " rachet the hive down. Smoke a tiny bit more, And plug the entrance. PRO TIP: face entrance towards the cab so the wind goes inside the hive. Don't drive crazy fast and do not over over big bumps.
+Larry Peterson Thanks for the great comments. Just so you know, this isn't the first time I have heard this so I invested some money into better audio. Hopefully, I can create better sound in the future! Thanks for the views.

Great information! I like your moving screen. I had a really hard time hearing you on this one. Oh well, I'm "deaf as a post."
