Happy Holidays Mr. Ting... Sorry to wait until this video to express my gratitude to you for all the advice on the Hobby of Astronomy. I have been involved on and off for about 50 years. Made all the mistakes that you have documented in past and future videos:). You have helped me come to terms with my weaknesses in astrophotography and the purchase of inappropriate scopes and lenses. But alas I still do it:) I'm also one of those photographers that set up and shoot whatever looks cool. Using the scope at hand and not spending a lot of time on post-processing... Yep, one of those. Please keep the content coming and if you get the chance throw in more piano. It is an added bonus...
This is my first time watching anything from you and I want to say thank you! What an excellent review. Very thorough, very professional. I really appreciate the time you took to tell us the straight "poop" Take Care
Hi Ed, I bought this exact telescope on ebay for $9 and it actually works better than a $20 pair of binoculars I own. You have to pull out the front part all the way before using. Then you twist the front part to adjust the focus. You twist the back(the part near the sign 10x -300x) to adjust the zoom.
Thank you so much, Ed. You saved me $69. I was getting ready to buy it. Whoever wrote the copy really knows how to do their job. I'm surprised Johns Hopkins University, the first thing mentioned in the ad, allows this company to use the university's name in the marketing effort.
👍🙏Thanks! I truly appreciate you taking the time to make this video & share the info. I knew it was too good to be true. I’m glad I checked RUclips first. 💝
Thank you, Ed. I've been researching telescopes (being new to astronomy). Due to my searches, this ad has been popping up several times a day. Nice to know how the review is on it. When can I expect my Eddiescope?
Great review, Ed... That read up on that Magic Monocular, same they using on the other MONOCULAR adds so many different variants of the MONOCULAR & lies to go with them, like better than $3000 telescope & $4000 DSLR Cameras with order now 50% off then you can buy pack 3 for little as £89. & there's a waiting list LOL.
Surprise! This thing is back. I just got a random ad for it. I knew that it had to be total garbage and was looking for a review just like this. The best news is that I found your site. Thank you for your review! Now if only you could provide instructions on how we can make our own EddieScope....
For those of you in the RUclips world please take note this is how you do a review of a product. Thank you very much sir! By the way I will undercut you on the Eddie scope I will sell mine for $9.99! But in all seriousness great job on the review.
first time seeing your work Ed. irony - before and after your video is an ad for the next wonderscope - the Starscope....almost as funny as your Eddiescope
10/10 buddy thank you for the review. +1 sub. How does a channel of this quality have so little subscribers. I wish you all the best ed and a million sub's by the end of the year. Keep up the great work pal alot more people appreciate it than you think.
You've got me sold. I'll buy ten units of star scope. Also if you named your product the Kal-Eddie-o-scope, I would have bought a hundred units. Thanks for shining the light on the bulls hit. ✌
When things like this show up on ebay, I like to buy one, knowing I can then open a case and tell ebay about the fraud. I just did so and expect a refund, but more important alert management to the fraud. It usually doesn't stop the bogus listings, but it often raises flags with ebay, who then force the sellers to include a statement explaining the true specifications. Last time this happened was with computer thumb drives, where thousands of listings offer 1 and 2 Terrabyte thumb drives, which are really only good for 16-32GB. Ebay appreciates people letting them know of these things, though they are a bit slow to act.
ahahaha loved your satirical advertisement for the "Eddiescope" at end of vid!! Haha!! My friend, i have lost count of the number of ads i received for this "Telescope" and other total garbage instruments recently!!?? On a serious note, there will be people out there who actually fell for this rubbish when it first came out and they paid $130 for one!!!??? That isn't even funny!!?? That is plain ROBBERY and FRAUD in my personal opinion Ed!!! I feel so sorry for those folks!!! Thank You for highlighting this problem Ed! Luv the channel! Wes, UK.
You got me all excited about the EDDIESCOPE... I thought my Christmas shopping was DONE! In fact... just because YOU'RE not selling them doesn't mean I can gift one to each and every member of my family. (we clean up a lot of spills in our house) THANKS ED!
I tried many and opted to stick with a 90mm Mak from Celestron for size vs. power. Cheap combo with my 13MP phone - total price for clear moon shots and even able to discern the main bands on Jupiter and Saturn looks great but a bit fuzzy due to small aperture and low megapixels and high crop zoom level! I was able to image the Orion nebulae from a small Newtonian with a single clear image at 1/3sec shutter + post processing on phone and in Windows Photos only. I recommend the Mak for a go to portable backpack scope setup but prefer the smaller Newtonian for better light gathering. You must have good lighting in photography, I prefer my lights be very very far away!!
Thanks for this, I saw the advert and immediately smelt the BS, there are a few obvious shill reviews that highly rate it but none that aren't obviously BS too.
I like Eddiescope, it is high resolution electron beam scope which charges by the magic touch of body static charge and yet gives the resolution lower than a visible light!
Wow, after spending all that money on a quality refractor, this comes along. Had I known this miracle in optics was coming to the market, I would have waited.
You save me the aggravation of being fooled by false advertisement. It just seems the way to be sure about the quality of a produce is hands on, thanks.
I recently discovered your channel. I'm wondering if you hammered the Magic Monocular down to a more oval shape, whether it might be a functional door stop? Good review.... how long is the backorder list for the Eddiescope?
Great review- but I wish you had also linked or mentioned something we can buy that does what this produt claimed but is actually GOOD. And yes I know it would be a lot more expensive.

Thanks Ed. We'll done. I got suspicious when I almost bought another model. I started looking into it when I found 3 different models, all using that same video. From across a lake zoom to people on a hilltop far away. I didn't think this or any of these were used to shoot that video. By the way, I just bought a kit of 18 for $12us. I'm still working on removing the fluffy white shipping material before I can set one up. Wow, one for all of my friends! And spares. Cheers.

At least you got a good "mini" scope. Mine arrived as a 30X25, 1000M/700M 2 inch long scope! Mine has a helical type zoom, no tripod hole and weighs about 1.5 oz. I emailed the company and asked is this what I get for $40? Their response was "we are sorry you are unhappy with your purchase". I emailed back it looks like something I won for 50 cents at a carnival. Once again their reply "we are sorry you are not happy with your purchase"! I own seven telescopes so yes I knew better. I'll just keep it in my car just to have a mini scope in car. By the way, before I buy an "EddieScope", are they good for astrophotography?

I recently discovered your channel. I'm wondering if you hammered the Magic Monocular down to a more oval shape, whether it might be a functional door stop? Good review.... how long is the backorder list for the Eddiescope?
Yesterday I saw a RUclips ad, for this monocular that was THIS Video edited to look like Ed liked it. Unbelievable but true.
Yeah, we're trying to stamp these out. Thanks for reporting.
When I saw the commercial comparing it to a $3,000 telescope, my coffee almost exited my nose.
