Yeah I think its great. There's nothing wrong with reinventing and experimenting with your career. I hope Edge has a good time. Lets be real, the wwe has never permanently closed the doors to former talent and weve seen it time and time again. So if he decides to go back home (wwe) Im sure they would welcome him.

It’s awesome that Edge gets to end his career on his own terms with the man who started it all alongside him.
Edge is in AEW because Tony Khan needed a new big name for his company and i'm sure he's being paid a lot more money than wwe was offering him to stay...
I'm glad that we're at a point where these wrestling companies can remain amicable and respectful when one of their talent decides that it's just time to move on and try other things, rather than being bitterly spiteful and petty toward them. It shows that the landscape of the business has changed quite a bit in the last 30 years, and that there's more of an emphasis on being accommodating toward a wrestler's needs and desires for themselves as a person rather than simply treating them as a product to be sold.

I think since being around I've heard more about njpw and other wrestlers I've never heard of. I do agree wwe is more professional. But I love aew because it's always something new every week and everyone over there is thriving you can tell it will get better at least better then other wrestling companies and that's what I like. I had always wanted tna to get big but they never had the talent for them to get there or stories or even good management.
Honestly I think that Edge is wrapping up his In Ring Wrestling Career and the last thing on his professional bucket list is one last run with Christian, as opponent as partner, etc. etc. making his time as an active wrestler complete and full circle. We may see Edge back in the WWE to officially say goodbye to wrestling like he wanted. He'll put his boots in the center ring in AEW and he'll do the same in the WWE ring as well.
Edge should of stayed in WWE He's most likely going to be doing hardcore bloody matches in AEW Because that's the kind of matches Tony Khan likes the most
@@Jesse_Saucedo He’s 49 but he’s in great shape , he wants to wrestle while he still can . Gotta think if he has 4 years left , he wants to max that out , not wrestle only 12 times in 4 years . He already told WWE once he’s retired in-ring , he’ll definitely be back to say a final goodbye 😊

I think the best part about this is I think the ultimate catalyst for this is, according to Adam's promo on Dynamite, is his daughter told him, "You need to go have fun with uncle Jay". If that's not reason enough, I don't know what is.
AEW is where you go when you want to goof off and have fun with your friends. It’s not where you go if you want to be a part of a successful, growing business with like-minded individuals. It’s high school.
He left on good terms, which is honestly all that matters. That’s the big take away from this. I don’t think Edge held any animosity towards the company itself or anyone in it, I just think that Edge knew he wasn’t getting any younger and the time for him to hang his boots up for good is coming soon. I think that right now, Edge is just on his farewell tour, marking things off his career bucket list. It’s likely that the only reason he went to AEW instead of just retiring in WWE is to end his career with his buddy Christian. If Christian wasn’t there it’s probable that Edge would’ve went ahead and retired. But he felt that he still had more to do, and that required him to go to AEW. Once he ends his career for good, I foresee him coming back to WWE to make appearances on occasion.
Pretty much this. Some fans complain the older guys are taking up screen time... Well this is Edge stepping aside and creating new and fun storylines with another company. He can still go, can still cut great promos... Now he has a new avenue & new dance partners to work with. At the same time, WWE & HHH can continue breaking records and invest more in their current and future stars.
Top notch attitude all around. I love this sort of thing. It really makes wrestling feel complete rather than just picking 3 letters to watch every week.
Lots to learn about how Adam changed businesses. He may not have been happy with how he was being used, or not used, but he always did what was asked to the best of his ability and treated those around him with respect. He got to leave with his head held high, and didn’t burn a bridge on his way out. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in WWE at some point post career as an agent or an exec, he has such a great mind for the business and ability to connect with people.
The best thing about this is that Edge gets the opportunity to end his career with his brother Chrstian, although it’s not WWE it kind of has the edgy side to it when they first started out so they get the feeling of an actual warzone for this rivalry they’re creating for the first time in their careers

Very true. With all due respect to WWE, Christian Cage would not have been able to say “Go f-- yourself” to Adam in a WWE ring. I think AEW is just the right environment for the final run in my opinion.
He ain't coming back to WWE. He did what he wanted in WWE and ended his WWE career with Sheamus. He will end his career with Cage according to Adam Copeland.
I mean he's speared everybody worth spearing in WWE, sometimes you gotta change up the PB&J in life, and get a taste of something else. AEW is Nutella.
It’s almost funny how the media has been digging and digging looking for drama and yet this move by Adam Copeland has been done with nothing but class on all sides. Adam has spoken very publicly about the respect he has for WWE and how he left, as we see here Triple H is reflecting that right back, sometimes in business it just becomes time to go in different directions, both parties have recognised this and moved on with courtesy, decency and respect. Gotta love that.
Edge Already Retired from WWE and His Career was Really Amazing in WWE and Now If He want to Decide to join new Company and Start a New Career for him it's his decision and it's his choice so it's good to know he and christian are together to deliver one more last amazing performance for there life.
Exactly. What was there really left for Edge to accomplish in WWE anyway? He got his revenge on Judgement Day, he won every title there is, he had an epic feud with his old tag partner Randy Orton and got his revenge on Seth Rollins from years ago...there wasn't really a lot left for him to do. He's been everywhere, he's beaten everybody...it was time for him to move on.
People are so upset about Edge leaving WWE but it's just business. If he felt like he had nothing left to do in WWE that's totally fine. Just like any job or career you gotta do what's best for you.
Look at the NFL...people get traded all the time and they still support them. Edge made a decision for himself and his career..if they can't handle it, the problem is them..not him.
Exactly I don't get why people so pissed ? What they don't have youtube or tnt/ tbs? Maybe try a new promotion you might like it. Aew is like where wcw / wwf was in the early 90s. So who knows.
@@Lupzen I guess people might have been upset because they really like him and they know he’s not going to do anything remotely as cool as what he did in WWE. No one has left WWE for AEW and did anything better in that company.
I think for Edge it is more about the "bucket list". There are people that he wants to have matches with before he is done with wrestling. If I was to guess I'd be saying MJF, Cole and Omega. Truthfully only he knows what he has planned or wants. While every wrestler is ultimately there for the money I think the "bucket list" is just as important to Edge.
It's awfully weird how so many people seem to think that there is this massive drama behind the scenes when a talent leaves a company and goes somewhere else. Edge has been with WWE for 25 yrs and what is the one thing that is constant in the entertainment business as time goes by? Change. WWE is under new ownership which changes the way they do business. They likely gave Edge a number and Edge made the best business decision that was in front of him. Disagreement over a number based on one's value doesn't mean that there are hard feelings or disrespect. It only means that Edge is going to do something else that is best for him as he closes in on retirement as a performer and that is perfectly fine because he will ALWAYS be WWE.
Respect HHH, it hasn't hurt anybody and gives Adam the chance to mix things up one more time before retirement. WWE never gonna be short on people wanting to be the next big thing there.
Luckily EDGE was able to return at all. He got his game back before he left, great shape, good matches and mentoring judgement day. Sorry to say he is older, things hurt probably all the time now.
IDK why people think that there has to be some drama going on if someone starts to work somewhere else. This is not like the times Vince and Turner bought up what used to be the "territories" and it's also not like the Monday Night Wars. But still some always think that here always has to be some drama.
If tony was in his position he'd say: Yeah edge is a big star and I think it's great that he made this decision. Aew is doing great and we're gonna have a great show on Wednesday
With the amount of pro wrestlers that have gone back and forth and in between all of the existing companies over the past 30 years, this is just business as usual really, sure it’s exciting and still shocking when it happens, but it’s really business as usual
I'm so glad Triple H is in control of wwe now. If Vince still had control he would have tried to bury or erase Edge's legacy as soon as his AEW signing was confirmed.
Time! Exactly! We're in a great era of wrestling! I was a wwe and now awe but I respect my roots and doors it opened me to. The amount of wrestling we have is unreal. The war is over, the age of whatever you want is upon us. God! Such a great time to be wrestling fan!!!
It never ceases to surprise me how good Triple H is at this. Love him or hate him, his in ring career was phenomenal, but he's as good if not better in a management role. That answer was perfect from a PR standpoint. It seemed genuine too, but it was the right answer.
If I were a Wrestler Triple H would be the last person I'd trust in the WWE. The guy is a snake who'll screw anyone over to get ahead all while kissing Vince's ass all those year's to get to the top. He pretty much was the office snitch and like Brett Hart said he was never a straight guy.
@@masonorosco1090 And what wrong with that? I think it dumb if you think Nobody want to live a better life. Triple H did what he had to do to make it where he is. Do you think he would have become Creative Head if he didn't plotted and choose what best for him? Instead you want him to be another old dumb angry wrester in Aew lmfao.
@@abrarchowdhury4789 that way of thinking leads me to say this, if both of us were in the WWE I wouldn't trust you either. I find it ironic how Triple H once said to new recruits "You have to earn respect in this business it is not given to you". Yet he had no problem conspiring with Vince in the Montreal screw job against the Hitman despite Brett's creative control clause in his contract. Screwing over Chyna, being jealous of the Rocks rush and God knows how many wrestler's he screwed to climb that ladder.
1000% the right call for both sides. Edge was too old to invest a lot of TV time in at this point and creatively he was just kinda spent too. On the other hand he still brings a ton of value, has gas in the tank - and is a real *asset* in AEW - where he can continue his career - stay at the same level - have lots of interesting new stuff to do and make great money doing it. Made sense for everyone involved - sometimes it's hard, but saying goodbye for now is the best thing for everybody. Would love to see him resign with WWE when it's time to hang em up to end his career as a WWE guy.
It’s so nice to see Triple H in the position he’s in for WWE. He’s the right man for the job because he is a wrestler first. I would have been surprised had he’d said anything negative about Edge jumping ship.
I have a feeling this was one of those "HHH or Vince made a call to Tony Khan and said 'I have someone whose contract is up in a few days and layoffs are coming up here in Stamford. Let's talk." Kind of like what Vince did for Bobby Heenan and Mean Gene back in the day.
WWE will always be home to Adam Copeland. I guarantee if he decided to come back today and said ok, I’m ready to work can you fit me into the fray; I’m sure WWE creative would bend over backwards to try and make it work. Like HHH, it’s timing. So many storylines happening right now in that world, let Adam go to AEW and stay relevant for now till he inevitably returns. Good deal for all.
I see you guys talking about edge and Christian started their careers together and I'm thinking "what the hell are they talking about?" Then I remembered the brood.
The one man who can single-handedly save professional wrestling. Hotter then Shawn Michael's in his prime. He could go toe to toe with the best there is the best there was the best there ever will be until real Greatness arrived at the performance center. he oozes with pure talent. The Velveteen Dream
That was pretty mature answer. At the end of the day WWE had no creative plans for The Edge, it is not like he was going to be a champion and end Roman's streak ... come on. And I am sure and future endeavors would have been costly to WWE.
A win win for both sides. Though if it's true that CM Punk is coming back, seems contradictory to the 'vision for the future' element WWE is going for. Maybe having a 7 year break revitalized his body. Obviously Punk realized he has taken WWE's professionalism and stage for granted after his experience in AEW. I just hope both companies keep growing and dishing out content for both types of wrestling and sports entertainment fans.
After what's happened I'm not sure if Punk wants anything to do with wrestling anymore. If he does, he's an absolute idiot if he thinks anyone wants to work with him outside his 'best friends.'
@@karnovrpg I'm not a fan of the AEW roster in a business sense. But I do think Adam, Young Bucks and Kenny are nice people personally. Punk is genuinely the only person in this generation that I know of that has lost more friends in both a professional and personal manner. If he ever does anything in this business, he needs to take a few years at least to realize that the problem MAYBE was his attitude.
Only problem i had with Edges sendoff, he didnt put anyone over. AJ, Finn, Sheamus, Grayson all could've benefited hugely from a win over Edge. Not to say Edge disnt deserve the send-off but to say he didnt feel wanted is kinda weird to me
Edge & Christian on AEW for him They should make history. Complete the history of these many years. You can stay here forever.Champion route life.I'll only get bored
Im just glad that Edge is still wrestling. Seemingly like he's gonna return for that 1 retirement night to WWE. He's done everything since his return in WWE. Well maybe one thing that's left is have some segment with Cena for old time sake, but it really might happen on that one last night.
He left in good terms. A good send off too. WWE respect Edge wish to end his career with his best friend Christian that also probably in the last run of his career as wrestler and want to have the last moments together. But now Im sad not seeing him in 2K games until his AEW contract is over/really retired.
You know what I've come to like/respect about Triple H. He may be the greatest heel ever, and outside DX I didn't like him....but in real life he's a really good person. Like, he would drag a drugged/boozed up Shawn Michaels back to his room and sober him up and wait there on a regular basis. That's a priceless friend.
I still find it funny that in 2023 Edge is being pushed as a top guy. He was middle of the pack back in the day. Wrestling (and wrestlers) has become so bad that middling wrestlers of the yesteryear have been pushed to the top. Wrestling became shit after 2003. Mid 90's to the early 2000's were the golden years.
AEW has more of his friends from his era on the roster. So if he has many big storylines he wants to be a part of, that had to be a priority since he’s at the twilight of his career.
I think its amazing that WWE knew Edge most likely is going to AEW n they didnt try to keep the trademark for “Edge” “Rated R Super Star” and his music also. It takes a lot of respect for a big company to do that cause if it was anyone else with less credit I dont think they would be that nice about it. Its awesome ending and a sign of respect to a hardworking, long time talent like Edge and let him progress into his final stage without hinderance.
They never owned both. The real thing amazing is seeing WWE do non-kayfabe post press conferences after AEW did it. AEW did it due to NFL and UFC inspiration.
not sure if it was Kurt Angel's or Booker T's podcast where Edge said, it's tougher for his body to wrestle once in 5 weeks or twice in 2 1/2 months. His body is longing for the week in and week out grind. it's all win: WWE was able to let go a guy they love and open spots for younger talents Edge will be able to not just wrestle in AEW but be part of the minds to run the show and get his dream matches AEW got a veteran with no history of bad habits or locker room heat (except when he stole Lita LOL) and a genius in this business to help elevate the show..
Well that’s about as good and honest an answer as you could ask for. Has to work for both parties. And when it doesn’t, sometimes the best thing you can do is leave. That’s not to say it’s anybody’s “fault” just over time your priorities change, what you want out of life changes, etc, and if the place your with can’t meet you on your terms the best thing you can do is go somewhere else that can
From the moment I say this - everyone is going to be able to see it. Watch the whole press conference with everyone and see how many times/angles it takes until they wear the pizza hut logo as a hat. It was adorable on Iyo and it looked pretty good in Jey.
Considering they totally screwed Edge with how The Judgement Day turned out vs what he wanted, yeah... Writing was on the wall that what he sees vs WWE creative sees is never going to align. Only reason he didn't get dropped to mid card or w/e status is coz he's a Hall of Famer and they're not going to do one of their HoF's dirty like that.
It sucks that Edge was never able to win the world title back during his last run in WWE. They made such a huge story about him having to relinquish it when he retired in 2011, but then they never put it back on him. Everything had to be sacrificed for the almighty Roman Reigns.
How can anyone say anything bad about HHH? He’s so fuckin good in this role , he doeent play stupid but says the company line at the same time , doesn’t insult the people asking the questions either
@@Thisconnected Jericho was calling himself that before he joined WWE, and McMahon let him keep it because he was famous for being in WCW and it let him score some points.
This is how a response should be. Instead, we have so many bosses out there that take it personal. I remember when I put in my notice, my manager would not talk to me the last two weeks. When I would pick up shifts, she would not talk to me. And it was not just me. When I worked for the sister hospital, that manager did the exact same thing. In part, because women are emotional, most have no business being in management. They allow their emotions to get the better of them. They take it personal. I have managed before. And my response is the same as HHH. It is like a relationship. I would never get mad at her if she decided to leave me. Even for another guy. I want to see her happy, and if I cannot do that for her, then why should I be mad at her? Way way too many people don't feel that way. They take it personal, they end up hating the other person. It truly is pathetic. Now, if she cheated on me, while still pretending she wanted to be with me, that is a different story. But in the end, if I no longer make her happy, I want her to find happiness. The majority of you do not feel that way. Twice I have had my children used against me from two different mothers. Their attitude, 'if you're not going to be with me, then you're not going to be with your children.' I am sure there are a lot of fathers on here that know what I am talking about. Women using children to control the father. Hence why 99% of women will take the child with her, say if there is a fight, or if something goes wrong. But if the father ever did that, the cops would be hunting fathers down. But fathers don't do that. Because we know pulling children away from the home is harmful. Instead, we try to work things out.
Very professional response and respectful to both sides. No need to create drama where there is absolutely none.

@chandleryen7315 bro ain't nobody saying that and if they are there dumb. Aew is just compared because no wrestling company has came close to wwe success except aew not even tna or njpw.
Think you both used to have a lot of hair...
Edge should of stayed in WWE
He's most likely going to be doing hardcore bloody matches in AEW
Because that's the kind of matches Tony Khan likes the most
He probably wanted to be more than what he was on wwe tv

No one takes aew seriously. When you put has beens at the top, you realize aew is nothing but fan service for marks
Edge is a legend, hall of famer, time catches up with everyone. Creatively an opportunity to explore a fresh approach. All the best adam
Paul Levesque is 100% right professional and respectful.

He’s already clashing heads in aew
The best thing about this is that Edge gets the opportunity to end his career with his brother Chrstian, although it’s not WWE it kind of has the edgy side to it when they first started out so they get the feeling of an actual warzone for this rivalry they’re creating for the first time in their careers

In 2021 if someone told me that edge is in AEW and Punk is in WWE, I wouldn't believe that.
I know this is about Edge but daaaaammmn the more Triple H ages gracefully is the more he looks like Kratos. 😂
Triple H is a really good guy, way more humble than Vince ever was
IDK why people think that there has to be some drama going on if someone starts to work somewhere else. This is not like the times Vince and Turner bought up what used to be the "territories" and it's also not like the Monday Night Wars. But still some always think that here always has to be some drama.
If tony was in his position he'd say:
Yeah edge is a big star and I think it's great that he made this decision. Aew is doing great and we're gonna have a great show on Wednesday

Why does WWE have press conferences like its a real sport 🤣🤣🤣
WWE will always be home to Adam Copeland. I guarantee if he decided to come back today and said ok, I’m ready to work can you fit me into the fray; I’m sure WWE creative would bend over backwards to try and make it work. Like HHH, it’s timing. So many storylines happening right now in that world, let Adam go to AEW and stay relevant for now till he inevitably returns. Good deal for all.

That was pretty mature answer. At the end of the day WWE had no creative plans for The Edge, it is not like he was going to be a champion and end Roman's streak ... come on. And I am sure and future endeavors would have been costly to WWE.
The Pizza Hut hat is so close to being perfectly over his head.

HHH said they agreed with Adam that they didn't have anything for him , but why did they offer him a contract ?
His body is longing for the week in and week out grind.
it's all win:
WWE was able to let go a guy they love and open spots for younger talents
Edge will be able to not just wrestle in AEW but be part of the minds to run the show and get his dream matches
AEW got a veteran with no history of bad habits or locker room heat (except when he stole Lita LOL) and a genius in this business to help elevate the show..
Not many people left for Edge to wrestle in wwe

Well that’s about as good and honest an answer as you could ask for. Has to work for both parties. And when it doesn’t, sometimes the best thing you can do is leave. That’s not to say it’s anybody’s “fault” just over time your priorities change, what you want out of life changes, etc, and if the place your with can’t meet you on your terms the best thing you can do is go somewhere else that can
There’s one person that loves this business like no other: that’s HHH. Hardcore.

Humble Response
It’s awesome that so many wrestlers are getting good salaries now that there a multiple companies to work for.
Instead, we try to work things out.
sir this is a Wendy's
Great response. HHH is the man.
