Yes!!! ❤ ♥️♥️'d C.C.Crane since back in the Art Bell days...... Ah yes..... Manuals..... The ones that came with '60's motorcycles were entertaining......😂😂 Great channel! Thank you! 👍👍✌️🇨🇦♥️
This looks nice, especially with the improvements that they made on the radio. By the way, the chanting on 660 is KTNN Window Rock, Arizona. They play a mix of Navajo and Country music. Thank you for reviewing it.
So many AM stations! 📻 Here in the UK, South West I can find just 1 UK AM station. (BBC Radio 5 Live).. Many stations have migrated over to DAB- digital broadcasting & online. FM will likely go the same way in the next decade..
Hi, yes, I agree with you. Also, here in Sweden, the AM band is very quiet. Sweden ceased broadcasting local AM in 2010. I can still receive some AM stations, so the AM band is very quiet these days in Sweden, which I think is a shame. Take care and have a lovely Sunday.
True, but you're hardpressed to find a mediumwave station here in the US that isn't sports, religion, or political blather. What I wouldn't give to hear more music on AM.
@@radiantheatmanifold1503 The problem with AM for music is that the audio quality isn't great. That's why there is more talk on AM (cheaper to broadcast) and more music on FM (better audio quality).
Most stations on AM that play music advertise themselves as only on FM only giving the call letters of the AM station on the hourly legally required ID. They get 250 watt fm translators if they can if not they get 99 watt translators not to interfere with neighboring frequencies and other fm low power translators.
For a small speaker that radio has great sound. You could really hear clarity on that classical music station. If this was the 1980s, I could walk down the street with that little radio on my shoulder. I think that you found the perfect radio for Dxing from the John Hancock building. This radio would be small enough to carry in without a lot of attention. You could put your Terk in a bag. Sit by the window and start logging stations from CA and Mexico. I would rather use the C Crane 2E, but like you said on the other video - it isn't really portable to carry around. This radio is a powerhouse for its size.
Hej Todderbert, thanks for the review. The C.Crane CC FM/AM 2024 version seems to be very nice, and I love that it has a much brighter display now. I'm looking at some new radios on the Amazon US website that I'm interested in. Take care and have a lovely evening in Chicago.
Great, I hope truly that Low level headphone noise has been fixed! The old roll and stop volume was better. I got the last Gen last year and couldn't stand the noise at low volume. Hope this new model does the trick. Like the Baseball reference on the front, one of the reasons I purchased the last Gen version. But the low volume headphone noise made me return it. Had high standards when I purchased it. Truly hope this new model fixes all that 👍
I have the Sangean DT 300VW pocket radio had it for a couple of decades and it still works fine but I've been wanting that cc pocket radio for a long time. Watched your video last night Saturday did not realize they updated it, So I ordered from the Amazon link that you provided it arrived today and it is a really nice sounding radio compared to my old Sangean
Thanks for the review. I wasn't aware that features have changed because they look the same on the outside. I wish C.Crane had more pocket size radios to choose from. It's a shame there's only one. Same product with tf card slot added is much desireable!
Another very good review! Recommend a relook at the Sangean DT-800. You had some justified negative comments last time. It's updated the software a number of times, and think Sangean has finally gotten this right. Would like to hear what you think.
That probably tops 👌 the list for 2025!! C Crane radio 📻 in pocket form!! Can ya DX with this? It sounds like 👍 this little radio is a station magnet 🧲. It can be a real bummer to only be able to receive local stations. This C Crane should be able to make short work of that problem. Happy Thanksgiving!! Your friend, Jeff.
The box hasn't changed a bit. I bought a Pocket about four years ago, and love it. However, in the last six months, a couple of segments of the first and second number are intermittent--I guess some solder joints have come loose. Great little radio though.
Sir, any particular advantage other than bright display to go for 2024 edition over older model? I am not going to spend $65 on this right now but will wait for it go on sale or something, appreciate your review !
I know this is being picky, but I still wish they’d figure out how to put SW in this radio. Still, I do have an old Radio Shack AM/FM pocket radio, and if it ever quits, the CC Pocket would be a worthy replacement.
Had a C.C. a Month ago, Returned It. Very Unhappy with Sound and Reception , No Telescoping Antenna, No Volume Stop. Bought a YOFITS YF-39 And, WOW! It has Great Sound With Some Bass, Telescoping Antenna, LED Flashlight, TF Card Slot, Voice Recorder, Memory Presets, Rechargeable Battery and Available in 4 Colors. Great Sound and Volume and Reception. NOT TINNY SOUNDING like the C.C. 1/2 the Price of the C.C. Bought 2! ALSO, Has MP3 Player and Bluetooth, Charging Indicator Light, and Bright Backlight.
No, but for 65.00, Why can't C.C. CRANES Have the Great Reception , Sound, Volume Knob Stop, No Static, More Bass All In 1 Package, and Telescoping Real Antenna? I Never Use Earphones, and, HATE Plugging in a Wire that just Dangles There for F.M. Reception. To Each His Own, but, for 65.00 Dollars, C.C. Crane Radio should at least Equal to what the Yofits YF-39 GEM IS. LOVE Your Videos. Just My Humble Opinion on this Issue!
All the Comments seem to be Good. Don't know, but, I for Sure will Keep U Posted! Thanks and Happy Band Scanning to All! Maybe U could eventually do a Review of the YOFITS YF-39! THANKS!
Does anyone know when CC Pocket was updated with the digital volume control, etc.? I’m in Australia and I just want to make sure I don’t get the older model.
Why is it so difficult to find a button's silent pocket radio to be used in bed? ...with AA or AAA operated, that do keep the presets, at least while replacing the batteries.- Any idea?
I bought the original Skywave and it crapped out on me with very little use. I own the CC Pocket also, which was a little glitchy at first but haven't had any issues for a while. I've heard various QA issues from other customers as well. Luckily I purchased from REI which has an excellent return policy.
similar models such as the DT-800 has speaker distortion, wish it didn't, I would have kept mine. The DT-400W has a similar sounding tiny speaker. Sony makes larger pocket radios now without a digital display. If you only need it for speaker audio, you are best served with an inexpensive Prunus J-166, or if you want a bunch of bands, the Sihuadon R-108, but that one is larger than the pocket models.
I wish I loved this radio as much as you do, but the sound quality is dreadful. Really all the small C Crane radio's sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. Even if they sent them to me for free I don't think I could overlook the low level hiss on headphones or the tinny sounding external speakers.
mine doesn't have low level hiss on headphones. that is the primary use for this radio, headphones. The speaker is ancillary. I'm happy with the options this provides, weather alert, 1kHz tuning, AM Bandwidth filters, Clock, Alarm, AA Operation, quick access presets, and a few others. The Sangean DT-400W is probably the better value, but doesn't have some of those MW features mentioned above.
I like the upgrades but the new volume dial doesn’t fade out the volume. When you turn the dial down it cuts off at a louder than quiet noise level. I am going to try to get a second last gen model before they are gone. Wonderful review as always😁👍🫵

I like KTNN, listen to it at night sometimes
@@brendanb1541 so cool, I'll check it out! ♥️👃✌️🇨🇦
I like KTNN’s DJ “JJ” on Friday and Saturday night’s programs at my QTH in Tucson, Arizona.

It would be helpful if they called the new version "Pocket 2" since they look identical

All my pocket radios volume controls fail in less than a year, the encoder should solve that, awesome!

It’s not advertised in any retailers, including CC Crane online store, as the updated version. Why?
Thank you for another great video Mr. T. Have you checked out the new pocket sized Prunus J-555 yet?
Yes, I have a review coming soon.

Is the Speaker mode in FM giving both left and right channels in the single speaker? Or only one side of the FM signal? Thx
I think we only get one of the channels if the broadcast is in stereo.
@That’s too bad. I’m finding that with the Xhdata D-109WB I recently picked up too. It’s disappointing.
Thx for the quick response. 👍🏼
@@dbird1356 I'm finding the best use for this radio is Sports on the AM band using the Speaker, and FM listening on Headphones.

Yes, the radio keeps the presets while changing the batteries.
They should get your feed back first before they release
Is it worth an upgrade, really?
Not if your current one is good.
