  • The making of a wooden Viking Battle Axe.
I've always had a passion for gaming, photography, videography and music.
But I also have a great passion for art and woodworking. I’ve been doing carpentry as a hobby since I was a kid. I have a collection of wooden weapons and I craft my own furniture around the house, especially for my gaming rooms and devices.
This time I thought I’d capture the whole process for you, from scratch - step by step:
Beginning by sketching a concept model on the drawing board, making a full-size cardboard cutout, copying the template onto the wood and sawing into shape. Finally, sanding, polishing and finalizing.
This is the first time I've made such a weapon. A Battle Axe from a single piece of raw wood.
Getting everything on camera, as well as editing and producing this video - has been very challenging. A lot of hard work - but extremely fun to make. So I hope you truly enjoy this video!

Kitty tries to steal the show again... Maybe he wants the axe for adventuring? You really are crafty, that's a hell of work! Makes me wish I weren't so clumsy with this stuff. The final look is so cool! Great vid!

That's really kind of you, I'm flattered. It was indeed a great project and adventure to undertake - but I'm thrilled I took it. I gave it my heart and soul, so I hope the results speak for itself! :)

My, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 😁
      Blame RUclips I guess 🙄😔.
Please, I would appreciate if you share the video wherever and with whoever you like 😉🙏🏼!
This was quite a big project: from designing the concept, to shooting every step in 1-take, to the actual woodworking challenges - and finally composing and producing the finished video.
I hope I managed to capture the feeling of adventure throughout this journey.
      Glad you enjoyed it!

What inspired you to make a viking axe specifically?

Hey there, thanks for the interesting question! Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I just... envisioned it - then simply wanted to make it.
Mainly because I never made a wooden Axe before. I like Viking weapons, mythology and lore. I also loved the game Rune as a kid. And finally I had just bought God of War - but funny enough I didn't even open it before I made this Viking Axe.
Now that I'm actually playing the game - I kinda wish I gave my axe the magical enhancement to return back to my hand after throwing it :p

@@supernukum5159 Indeed. Had great atmosphere and ambience. Nice immersive story with great voice acting and Norse/Viking themes and mythology. Great graphics for the time. Awesome level design. Fantastic brutal fast paced combat. And cool weapons and Rune Powers.
Miss this game, felt so unique and memorable.
Great to see a fellow Rune fan here. Hope you enjoyed this video!

@@SlayerSeraph Yeah same! I don't know anyone else who remembers this game but it was one of my favorites. This is also a reason I want to build an axe of my own lol

@@supernukum5159 Yeah, I have fond childhood memories of it. I still remember hand picking it from the store shelf way back. Back in the day when you'd look at the cover and back of the box and choose what looks interesting, then go completely blind into game.
It's a shame "Rune 2" was such a mess. It tarnishes Rune's memory.
Btw, did you know Drakan (Order of the Flame) too?

Why did you call him spot ???

Notice the big, perfectly round, black Spot on his white chest!
Also smaller spots on his chin and nose. Hence: Spot! 😽
Aka Black & White Lion 🦁
