If you can see the part of the alien's head where its eyes would be, then he's gonna be able to spot you. Always keep the front of his head blocked from your line of sight..
Also, his ability to spot you is totally dependent on the difficulty level you play at. On the harder levels, if you're in his 'line of sight' he's going to screech. 'Spotting' you also encompasses sound. And smell too! On higher levels, hiding in lockers never works, he'll sniff you out (or hear you)..
Yes but the truth is that alien's hiss is short when you raise difficulties. on Easy it last more than in nightmare, im playing nightmare and its like 1second of alien hiss before you can break line of sight. Also on nightmare lockers and those gray boxes are Just lauchboxes for alien so you must use furniture to break line of sight ,dont even try hiding in lockers (or at least use a medkit so you can hide successfully once)
@@brennonlewis That nod is what killed you. If you're under something, even if it seems like the Alien spotted you, if it made no audio queue, which seemed to be the case until you nodded, it hasn't. Any movement when hiding, even just looking around, will startle the alien as it did here. The Alien can be sometimes like a _Jurassic Park_ T-Rex when you're hiding. When the Alien is in passive mode, i.e., up in the vents, walk, not crouch walk, to your next destination, and don't do anything to summon the Alien, i.e. get it to come out of the vents and be in active mode as you did in the video. (It's entirely possible to get through Nightmare difficulty without really encountering the Alien.) Yes, I know you wanted to distract it. Also, avoid lockers unless you absolutely have to. The more you use lockers, even when the Alien is not present, makes for the Alien to look into lockers more. Oh and props for trying to fight it off in the end.
Definitely made several mistakes here. But I did the same things when I started playing this game. After beating it on nightmare several times, it’s almost like a simulation to me now lol. I will give you this advice though. Don’t you ever go in a locker again unless you have no other option. If you enter a locker on a higher difficulty, even if the alien is nowhere near you, going in that locker will trigger an animation. The game basically tells the alien to investigate that locker. It’ll enter a stalk animation and look into/smell locker. 50/50 chance it’ll kill you instantly. But hey, your editing is pretty good, don’t worry about vid quality you’ve got it

The head shake... 😂

I was hoping the flashbang would roll to the other end of the corridor so the Xenomorph would go the other way but nope
Don't listen to sad trolls, your video is perfect.
