4:23-4:50 : The late genius of Jon Lord under the influence of Johann Sebastian Bach... There was a time when musicians used to play real music instruments PERIOD
From the heart, not from the FUCKING WALLET to a bunch of moronic tw(ee)itting fucks. Also Known as OFARA (Old Fart's Rant)! Thank god for that! I got to listen to fucking music!! Nowadays it's probably thought that Jon Lord's influence for this was the bar.
Some synthpop-era is good too, in case that's what you're getting at. (And most musicians play "real" instruments NOWADAYS, so what's with the past-tense?)
Richie Blackmore gets fair enough of recognition for his guitar playing But I feel like Ian Paice and Jon Lord don't get enough recognition as a brilliant drummer and Oraganist
Even though my favorite lineup is the one that did MACHINE HEAD, this is a solid song. Nice riff, keeps moving. I always enjoy a good keyboard/organ solo or what have you. Makes Purple stand out. I loves me some Ian PAICE. So good. Of course the vocalist on "Burn", David Coverdale, went on to make a megaton of $$$ with WHITESNAKE. How many times has "Here I Go Again" been played on the radio not to mention the video on MTV back in the day. Have you seen Coverdale lately? He was on THAT METAL SHOW w/ Lita Ford looking like he fell asleep at the tanning salon. :-)
Interesting, not one single version except for thenoriginal studio version has tha beautiful melancholic whistly keyboard in the background of the second solo a d thats the most beautiful and the most beautiful.part of the song (from 4.32 of the original studio version).
Coverdale didn't have a chance in tgis toxic band. Everyone was too good for their own good including David. But this song is a perfect example of a group of musicians who lacked personal chemistry but could really write a great song
what a pile of bullshit to say... Coverdale was new in the band and Ritchie asked him to write something "gothic/fantasy"- that was really not his "cup of tea" , being him more blues-oriented, the result is this masterpiece
This riff blows your head off
It's better than listening to the Adele my neighbour plays, I play Made in Japan to piss her right off
This riff still cranks after 40 years of listening to it .... it never grows tired.
this is my most fave Jon Lord's solo, sounds 1 000% insane!!!!!!!!!!!
R.I.P Jon,forever in my heard!!!!!!!!!!

Ian Paice doesn't get enough credit for his incredible drumming, IMO.

Вопрос дальше: а под чьим влиянием был С. Бах? Вот настоящий вопрос. Но кто даст настоящий ответ?
Such a talented group of musicians! Love this band!

Paice's playing Is sooooo nimble & snappy...
Glen Hughes backing vocals and John lord awesome.
This tune truly defined Heavy Metal...
/Hard Rock
diemutha666 I wouldn’t consider deep purple to be metal, I’d say alternative or hard rock
Hard Rock
They made heavy metal.... but they are hard/psycodelic/blues/Roll Rock... and early heavy metal...

I forgot how good they were
R.I.P Jon Lord.
emerson lake & purple :)
How did David coverdale go from this to 80s shlock like here I go again
Still of the Night is my favorite White Snake song because of Coverdale vocals.
Coverdale didn't have a chance in tgis toxic band. Everyone was too good for their own good including David. But this song is a perfect example of a group of musicians who lacked personal chemistry but could really write a great song

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurn!
its burnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Jon Lord RIP
If I’m being honest, the opening riff reminds me of Motörhead.
You do realize that this was released a year before they were formed...right?
@@grandpavanderhof No. In fact, you could be certain that I had no idea that Motorhead would be formed only a year after this song was released.
I thought Ian Gillan was their vocalist until the 80s?
Gillan left at the end of their summer 73 tour of Japan, returning for Perfect Strangers in 84.
