- Join Disguised Toast in an epic adventure, with the quest of victory.
Since the Cheapest and Strongest Face Hunter Deck is still the most played deck on the ladder,
and a good counter deck has already been found. That doesn't mean it should stop there!
So, with that said. Today, Toast explores one of the last viable Priest Deck,
the Quest Resurrect Priest Deck.

@@johnnythreetimes3600 not really. He doesn't have any other 1 mana card to play and he went first. So he very slightly improves the chance his opening hand is better in exchange for getting a certain dead draw halfway through the game.
If he played those games with the quest on turn one they would've played out the same except he could've also completed the quest

@Brendan Yu Not really.. Play quest priest against aggro hunter and you literally win. Lord forbid it turned out to be a different hunter and you end up looking like a fool. Keep quest, it just so happens he was facing face hunter, and they kinda lose regardless. Unless you literally draw dirt.
@Brendan Yu aggro hunter has an extremely low winrate against quest Priest, with or without quest activation on turn 1. There is little need to mulligan it, but doing so is fine and not particularly a better move by a large margin.
Watching toast play through some of these boards/bad situations makes me realize that I have a lot to learn as a rank 6 player.

Dont need the quest? Putting that quest up makes people not attack you. Its VERY important against hunter.

It's a more fun and casual deck compared to SMOrc Hunter and Necrium Rogue which I see every 2 games on ladder.

Serbian Sauvage the questliterally doesnt matter in that matchup... If you get to that point you most of the time already won, but the chances of getting to that point is made a lot harder

How in the first Match the Dragon from Leeroy, which was returned by Freezing Trap gave him the chance to board clear with Breath of Infinte, that was some good shit happen for you Toast

If the game is vs. an aggressive deck, there's a good chance that the quest won't matter. By pitching the quest, you might get a card from your deck that helps you survive. The quest is good vs. Midrange and Control decks that try to overwhelm you much later in the game.
I think it was a bad deciosion... but honestly if you watch Toast he has a lot of misplays...
He doesn’t have a one drop, so the quest is the only thing to play on curve... and +1 extra heal and the buff is very good against aggro anyway. Also as someone mentioned you can still topdeck the quest which is even worse... i think against aggro you should only mulligan your quest if you have a viable one drop that you need
Problem though with this deck is that it loses hardcore to all highlander and control decks.
Biggest way of winning against this is just to not attack
And that's why I run elysiana, if it gets to that point the only way the enemy wins is if they are warrior.

@@karlcardell1276 You can also run Hakkar/Wyrmrest Purifier. It's not 100%, but if they can't silence or remove the deathrattle then they have to find a way to burn/remove the blood, or just outright kill you beforehand. You also have multiple chances of it going off due to Zerek's and resurrect. Kinda risky against aggro, and you require 2 cards for it, but it's an alternative.
No they win hardcore against highlander control, litterally not a single game ive won against res priest, and i play every deck except aggro and shaman

An odd one, but the old school 'damage yourself' minion themed deck still seems really good. It's just a bunch of high health minions you heal back to full without using Inner Fire and stuff.
Top 100 players always keep the quest. Just saying. I personally keep the quest always and never lose to face hunters. This deck stomps aggressive decks.

@@smtnbad you have not won because you healed 15 health. Look at the second game where Toast is highly favoured, healed over 15 HP and went down to 4 HP. You're wrong if you get rid of it and you're lowering your win percentage.
Glad I reached legend with this deck before everyone starts playing it.

Think for a second, you have no chance of competing it. By mulliganing it you get a higher chance of getting your early removal spells
@@jk7690 At the same time your removal spells cost like 5 and 9 mana, and in the 2nd hunter game toast still healed over 15 during the game, the game kept going after he healed over 15 and he went down to 6 health. If he had put the quest on turn one instead of skipping he still would've won and probably without having to go down to 6 health. He may have even avoided early damage and would've been even more safe to wait to use his board clears.

@@dylanb2990 Getting a full board of ragnaros/vargoth/lich king multiple times if they don't get killed by turn 4-5. Which this type of priest deck has tons of board removal and recovering to help it do that. A turn 3 coin into vargoth is an automatic win most of the time

That 2nd game was so hard to watch, You played into freezing with Kha'tut instead of just zilliaxing and letting that take the ol' trap, Zilliax isn't as good in this situation against Hunter because they just arcane shot or hp it with Sharpshooter.
He messed up a lot. He doesn't even know what the quest does and he's playing the deck...
in defense of toast , was his first time with this deck , today he will know that you dont mulligan quest, keep it in your hand, and be AFK then you win :v

He did mentioned that he skipped last expansion and just started back recently. Hence the lack of familiarity with some of the newer cards.

why dont you take quest? You restore health anyways with those cards, you dont have to focus the quest if you dont want to, but you dont lose anything by playing it like you do not playing it...

Why's everyone so obsessed with the quest? You don't need it if you're against an aggro deck..you need something more useful, you don't win those matchups by completing the quest you win by outhealing your opponent, that's it.
He will complete it, he won't have a dead draw later on, if he heals face he can actually outpace the Hunter's hero power. The mull for gaining your next card one turn early is a bad idea considering you're losing out on a hero power that at WORST is 50% stronger on an easily completable quest. Toast was wrong and if you check high legend players they won't get rid of the quest. You're going to win 90% of the games, getting a different card potentially one turn early won't win the game for you vs having a drastically improved hero power that makes like hell for Hunter.

Feel like priest is the real anti meta of standard currently. Almost every aggro deck hard loses to quest, and you can outlast the control ish decks. Thankfully there's no real combo decks

@@CrapsGoodxD good old control warrior punish this deck so much.. you just hard mulligan for dr boom and your weapons.. play almost nothing on the board until the end except removal for their minions. At the end his quest never complete until fatigue. Thats the time to kill him, because that just too late for him to complete quest at that point.
It also makes him feel even worse since you just makes him play the unwinnable matchup for about 40min without doing the things his deck should do.. lol
you want get your weapon in hand because it can remove minions and you can just swap with other weapon to avoid burn your better card in deck. You basically play nothing so he cant heal anything

You want to mulligan the quest in order to get something more useful against aggro deck, not having turn one is not something you care about with this deck anyways, you need something that can carry you through the dmg that aggro decks can do
Because Toast is used to much older quest decks where you got rid of it turn one because you drastically needed certain cards to win. He was wrong to do it and makes his win % worse by getting rid of it.

Really, if you are going to mulligan the quest most of the time, then don't put it in your deck at all... At some point you just have a dead draw. Or keep it and laugh when you give your taunts +3/+3 up to +3/+6.
You're assuming that he draws it during the duration of the game, which might end sooner than expected against aggro decks like face hunter that can't deal with the 5 mana 5/5 heal 5 as seen from the first game
@Aogh _ Toast Game 2 he still healed over 15 and got down to 6 health, that may be a close call, the quest allows him to have a major board presence and heal himself for 3 if he ever needed it, though his minions probably would never die and he could just keep buffing zileax. What's more, is the quest creates a barrier of some sorts where people don't know what's in toast hand and so they avoid damaging him allowing him to ramp up to use his board clears or get his annoying minions out and if the game goes long enough hunter also has already lost.
