Wonderful that Karine, obviously French, spoke in English for the audience at Gresham. I don't think there are many English people who would be comfortable or able to give a lecture entirely in French. Great content too!
Many Latin manuscripts referred to diagrams at the back of the manuscript. Given China invented printing, I wonder why it didn't have a section for images showing the use of rod numeral arithmetic. Any ideas?
I am definitely interested in this, but this is a truly awful lecture from so many points of view, in my opinion! Couldn’t you make it even just a tiny bit more accessible? Let’s start with some better graphics. If you tried to teach like this in a school, you wouldn’t last one minute.

I'm struggling to understand. I'm not an audio expert but it sounds too bassy or flat or something.
Audio sucks , sounds muffled , and barely audible .

Please stay true the classic, avoid new wave of... cra cra.
Thank Heavens that you have at last got back to proper academic matters rather than pushing all that woke stuff of late.
Agreed !
An academic matter is one which is discussed in an an academy, could you explain what is a "proper academic matter"? Asking for a woke friend.
