I have this guy friend who thinks being a porn star would be the best job. I try to explain to him that his key word is “job”. No job is always fun. It’s a job and a mentally, emotionally, and physically taxing job.
I don't understand why they don't consider porn as prostitution. They say it's performers are acting, but that type of thinking doesn't make sense. Porn women are perhaps exploited more than sex workers.
Well let’s break it down, first of all pornography can be anything from a still image taken at home to a full studio produced video. It’s such a broad thing, a lot of forms of porn do not fall anywhere near what prostitution is.
I agree. Porn is prostitution. Some performers are only popular because of their performance. And some look fake. Also, makes a joke out of people who have fetishes.
I don't understand either. They're literally paid to have sex, which is the very definition of prostitution. A porn star is basically a prostitute who's not camera-shy.
From what I have observed, men who solitarily and unapologetically watch porn the most (as opposed to an addict trying to quit or a couple watching) have the least amount of respect for women as human beings. It’s not surprising, but that means they couldn’t care less about what physical and emotional abuse women have to go through on set, and they are the quickest to judge women. Nevertheless, I am grateful that you and others are speaking out, so that those who do care can hear.
Utter nonsense, there are men out there who can't have a physical relationship with women, due to varied reasons. Stop with your judgemental attitude and hatred of men!!
From my observation it appears that those who watch porn, especially constant watchers lack true happiness in their lives! Whatever triggering event(s) occurred in their lives convinced them, at a very early age, that sex equates love, and clearly confused them about what is appropriate and inappropriate. This situation for me, while not justifying my viewing of porn, a very difficult situation! I was cornered by, at first, a compulsory need to release anxiety and stress, but eventually put me, again, in a difficult place that I wasn’t aware of putting myself in! In my early twenties I was diagnosed having a mental issues and had a very deep sense of self revulsion to the point of incapable of ever being in a relationship with females, or at the most very very few and only being very careful with myself to not get my head into a place of fantasy when I am clearly in reality. Over the years my addiction did get a bit crazier, but I deliberately don’t date and in general for the most part don’t try to develop relationships with women in my age bracket!
@@markreamer5113 Thank you for sharing your story. I have a similar history with porn. There is hope for you to have a deep, meaningful relationship one day too, if that is be your choice. I respect one who chooses a happy single life as well though.
The problem with porn, unlike alcohol and drugs, is that it preys on a person's sexual desire, which is a natural and biological characteristic innate in all humans. This makes porn particularly insidious.
Thank you very much for this eye opening video. To be honest, i always struggled with this issue. I thought it is glamorous and perfect and women are enjoying it to the maximum. But something in my head told me that it is not like that. But it's the power of media, you know. It changes mindsets. How their kids gonna be raised with the money which is collected from mummy doing p*rn? Or how kids are gonna suffer when they know what their mummy did? (I am not judging people, these are questions that i am always thinking about everyday and i want to find the root cause of these issues and make contribution)

I recently met a female who was just getting started in the industry. She was on her way to do a first shoot with FTV Girls. I did tell her the pot is simmering. What goes on after is very much a boiling pot. She will have moral dilemmas. I told her the instant her gut feeling chimes in, she needs to listen to it. Gather her clothes and don't let the conversation turn into a coercion session. She might get left high and dry as a result. There should never be a price on one's dignity. Edit: Upon further thought and more research. The girl I spoke to has a similar story to the female in the bit about "A totally 'trustworthy' modelling gig." This girl's background is eerily similar. I asked her why the sudden interest in going this route. She said some personal pics and videos were leaked after a supposed hack. It seems strange to me she would go forth to put it all out there despite having obvious objections to her personal stuff having been hacked. I think it's being used as leverage against her. She also mentioned having a small group of people handling her bookings. She doesn't get to make the executive decisions. She is assigned something and has to see it through.
I’m compassionate but they’re compensated. Have you ever thought about how much “pain” a man goes through to earn the money he’s using to provide for his family? Their abuse may be glamorized but it’s a relatively handsome reward for performers versus blue collar work.
I learned a lot from this woman, I remember watching this for years as a kid and I saw a lot of things that a young child should not have saw, and I didn’t know what pornstars actually dealt with because she (the lady talking in the video) is right, the camera people who take footage of the pornography hide details and make it seem enjoyable but on the outside, it’s really not, I’m glad I quit watching it.

Confused. Why is it rape or heinous abuse if she consents, for the money? I work with actual victims of sexual abuse/violence and this discredits all of their experiences. First step here. I agree with this statement and it pisses me off that this woman is claiming the women are being raped. Bullsh!t because rape is a horrible serious crime when the person is assaulted against their will. Women (and men) willingly signed up to do pornography and it’s a job like any other job whether you’re a stage actor or movie actor or director etc. every job has its requirements and if the people who volunteer to become an adult film actor they obviously love sex and want to make money. I’m not saying that many porn stars don’t get hooked on drugs or commit suicide but so do musicians and Hollywood stars. It’s not rape and many in the industry do enjoy what they do. People like this idiot demonize sex so they target the born industry or any other media that’s sexual because in this country everything is sexualized and therefore demonized it’s so ass backwards. Sex is a beautiful thing and it’s what keeps the human race alive. Anyone who’s against sex is very stupid because if it wasn’t for sex you would not exist. Grow up and get over it.

If you truly want to educate, you have to educate on both sides of the coin when it comes to a topic like this.
Think about it this way. The couples who choose to perform it together. Do you really think they live good lives? They may look happy on camera but the reality is they probably have zero relationship with their parents, siblings. They probably never choose to have children because of the shame their child will feel if they discover who their parents are. And if the couple breaks up or divorces then what? Being an addict robs you of your humanity. Choices made when you are in the maddening grip of addiction are not entirely yours, nor are they an accurate reflection of who you are. If you know any addicts personally, they will tell you that full fledged addiction turns the user into an animal, completely consumed by ways and means to get more. When you're in that state of mind there is no limit to what "you are willing to do." That's why otherwise upstanding citizens can wind up robbing and hurting people just to get more oxycontin or whatever the flavor of the month is. Addiction is powerful. it's not a fun thought but it basically it boils down to this: If you believe many porn actors and actresses are likely addicts... it's impossible to square that with the notion that performers are really "choosing" to be there. I'm not saying people aren't responsible for their choices, only that those choices may not be as clear headed and starry eyed for them as we would prefer to believe. ...It's not fun to think about.

There is NO such thing as rape! Btw, i know of almost none former pornstars, who have come out talking about rape etc. Depression, mental issues, phycological issues yes, but rape almost none.
@@alexanderkordas682 What I'm saying is... if it's rape then report it to the police because rape is a felony....and certainly don't show up to the set to let it happen ever again. And they don't make that much money either.
I stopped watching when I found out most these are Human trafficking related
I don't understand why they don't consider porn as prostitution. They say it's performers are acting, but that type of thinking doesn't make sense. Porn women are perhaps exploited more than sex workers.
Well let’s break it down, first of all pornography can be anything from a still image taken at home to a full studio produced video. It’s such a broad thing, a lot of forms of porn do not fall anywhere near what prostitution is.
I agree. Porn is prostitution.
Some performers are only popular because of their performance. And some look fake. Also, makes a joke out of people who have fetishes.
Exactly. Never understood that either
I don't understand either. They're literally paid to have sex, which is the very definition of prostitution. A porn star is basically a prostitute who's not camera-shy.
@@Eric_Bassett they get paid to have set - thus prostitution
From what I have observed, men who solitarily and unapologetically watch porn the most (as opposed to an addict trying to quit or a couple watching) have the least amount of respect for women as human beings. It’s not surprising, but that means they couldn’t care less about what physical and emotional abuse women have to go through on set, and they are the quickest to judge women.
Nevertheless, I am grateful that you and others are speaking out, so that those who do care can hear.
Utter nonsense, there are men out there who can't have a physical relationship with women, due to varied reasons. Stop with your judgemental attitude and hatred of men!!
@@katoness I am not hating on men in general, only men who degrade women.
I was awkward with women and often avoided attempting relationships with them when I was young, and my porn obsession played into that. In my teens I would have defended porn usage right and left just like the commenters who got angry at my post. Now I am happily married.

I am still struggling about other thoughts in my mind about why should a young girl or middle age woman sell her body to get that amount of money? How their kids gonna be raised with the money which is collected from mummy doing p*rn? Or how kids are gonna suffer when they know what their mummy did? (I am not judging people, these are questions that i am always thinking about everyday and i want to find the root cause of these issues and make contribution)

It's almost like, Dignity and self respect SHOULDN'T be Traded or Sold. I wouldn't have guessed. WOW!
Who in their right mind thinks it’s glamorous?
Right
How could anybody think porn is "glamorous?"
Not trying to shame or dismiss just providing a counterpoint.
A lot of females need pride.

It’s easy to see why most porn actors and actresses distance themselves from the industry as quickly and as far as they can once the porn industry has served its purpose for them. The bigger question I have is what makes other porn actors and actresses stay in the industry so long, years? Decades??
The ones that stay are part of the destruction. And enjoy it.
Confused. Why is it rape or heinous abuse if she consents, for the money?
I work with actual victims of sexual abuse/violence and this discredits all of their experiences.
First step here. Teach women to use their minds to make money, not their bodies. The impact of relying on a depreciating asset is devastating on many levels.
Stupid excuse as always. They wouldn’t be doing it if they had other options. And coercion isn’t consent. If they can’t meet demand, that’s where sex trafficking comes in. If there’s demand they’ll get people do it either way, this isn’t an issue on education 😂

Or maybe some of them are drug addicts and this is what they are willing to do
Drugs are bad mkay
