Rixe - Les Nerfs A Vif 7" EP (2016)

After the huge buzz that they got with their first release "Coups & Blessures", French Oi! trio Rixe return with a brand new 4-song 7" for 2016. Picking up right where their first EP left off, Rixe deliver 4 upbeat tracks that are total anthemic sing-alongs -- two melodic slower songs and two pogo slammers. I think all three members handle vocal duties, which I get a kick out of. When comparing "Les Nerfs A Vif" to the first EP, I would say the production is a little crisper and clearer, and the songs are maybe even a bit more melodic, which I'm totally fine with! I've seen this band get a lot comparisons to New Age era Blitz, which I get, but I think Rixe is a little rougher around the edges and has more fist-pump-ability. I think Rixe has a lot of moments that come across more just like street-wise rock 'n' roll. While I'll be the first to admit that Oi! isn't my favorite style of punk, it's pretty undeniable that Rixe delivers some killer tunes.
