VEEP challenges women

    Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says Zambia can achieve gender equality in decision making positions if women prove that they are equal to the task.
    Mrs. NALUMANGO says there is need for women to double their efforts to ensure that their inputs are tangible.
    The Vice President says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has shown willingness to appoint women in key decision making positions and it is up to the women to perform and deliver results.
    Mrs. NALUMANGO was speaking when she graced the Zambia Police Service Women's Leadership Conference in Lusaka.
    Meanwhile, Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU assured women officers that the Ministry will show support by investing in training that builds capacity and teamwork.
    And Deputy Inspector General of Police ALITA MBAHWE said the command is striving to make an environment conducive for women officers to operate such as the establishment of Zambia Police Service women's network.
    Meanwhile, Canadian High Commission Head of Office JANE HILL said peaceful societies can be created through majority involvement of women in peace keeping missions.
