Being an east coast girl, I love this. It's very cape cod feeling without being a theme house, you know the ones, they try to make the house look like it is from Tuscany, but never really pull it off and just looks weird, like a Hollywood set from the 80's or something. This is perfect, warm and casual. Just the way a home should be.
Leslie, I think we are so much alike except for our pocketbooks and waistlines! I heart you and your home!

Your home is beautiful and it’s not small like you say! 5 kids is a lot but I’ve seen 5 kids growing up in a 3 bedroom mobile home. You are very blessed to have such a beautiful home. It’s just stunning!🥰❤️

"I don't cook." Did you see that stove???? I can't imagine having 5 kids and not preparing their meals. It's an act of love every time I prepare something for them. I cook constantly and have 4 burners.😂 I wish I had her stove. The design and decore in this house are stunning.
She may have a professional private chef that cooks. She is obviously well off!
well maybe her husband cooks, cooking is not for everyone
Not all women cook. And not all men do yard work and car maintenance. Hopefully in 2024 we can start moving away from stereotypes.
@lindsayo9702 Not this woman. I'm a mom. I'm naturally supposed to feed my babies. Kinda of a thing that starts on day 1. Most people don't cook because they don't want to... because it requires time and effort.

This house has a lot of character. Lots of natural sunlight with all the windows. My favorite is the outdoor area. But especially the top tier balcony overlooking the ocean. A great idea to put the glass wall in. The spiral staircase was a plus. ❤
That's so fun to think that in your 20's, you drove by this location a million times not knowing that you'd be living there one day...and with 5 kids! Beautiful
I mean if she lived in La Jolla in her 20’s it’s not like she didn’t think it would be some unattainable dream. She was already wealthy.
Your home is so comfortable. It doesn't look "decorated" it looks curated as if every piece in your home has a history or a story. That's the goal at our house. It takes a while but it's worth it. Thank you for sharing your home.
I've seen this lady's home before. I love it and her, I'm so glad she actually decorated her house and made it homely and snug. Usually homes near the water are white, blue and beach themed.

I think this house is a dream , so cozy i like it very much. The colors are my prefers! ❤
What a beautiful home! Love the mural. It definitely gives a special character to the house. Agree with the curtain at the entrance door. It provides privacy and the color and texture of the fabric gives an attractive touch of color. I usually do not prefer all White House’s but there is enough color in the decoration to make it feel warm and inviting. What I like the most is that it doesn’t look like a ‘magazine home’. It has its own individual personality

I love her thought process of taking a boring 90s home and giving it charm and history! My house is 1949 Miami but has no charm either. Every thought that went into every piece or decision… it was sooo well thought out and I love she like home should be meant to be used.

This one you've made into a little jewel, absolutely adore your style and love the nautical historical reminders.

Love this home. Putting those windows in the living room was perfection. And, I was so happy when she mentioned the double hung, small slat shutters. My friend was throwing out all of her old shutters years ago , exactly like that. They stayed in my garage for years. Then I had someone frame out my large window and fit them in. I was just thinking they look outdated... not anymore! Thanks! Love the mural and stair runner. What a statement when you first walk in. I also have decor coffee table books everywhere, I can't stop collecting them . Love the dining and kitchen area. But, how do you not cook with 5 children? I want to know that secret! Everything about this home is warm and cozy, yet stylish.

We are in the very very early stages of designing and building a home on beautiful Lake Geneva WI, just north of Chicago. Your home exemplifies the relaxed feel but still elegant and yet comfy and also antique filled and traditional but warm, inviting and livable! Love Love Love!

I absolutely love your home and the thought and effort you put into decorating it. I grew up in Newport Beach, CA and your home is so familiar to me and renews so many memories. California beach life can often require extra work due to the exposure, but your choices in fabrics and wall coverings and many new windows make it all worth it. Thank you for sharing your home with us. (And yes having central air even at the beach is very welcomed)

A lot of her philosophies about materials and eclecting, I share. A lot of good design advice and wisdom here. Lovely home… I would use her services if I could afford her.
How do you not get sad when you have to leave a home? We sold our home in a beautiful forest area that was a similar size… I got so overwhelmed by the size of it and having to clean it that we swung from that 1700 sq ft house to a 750 sq ft house. I’m sad we left it, it had a beautiful view of the lake.

beautiful home. Love the drapes that cover the front door. Very VERY English..... I just love the wallpaper in your bedroom. I'm considering this for the eating area of my kitchen. Love the Roman shades everywhere and I love the off white drapes on black rods. I did the same! It makes every room very "upscale". Fun fact: I used to work with Patrick Wade and Dave Demattei at Lucky Jeans. What I don't love is that you have the fireplace on even if it's very warm and crank the AC to offset the heat. that's a little tone deaf for me considering the global climate crisis. Overall I think you did a great job but it sounds like you are already thinking of moving on to the next home. Good luck!

Gorgeous home. Curious where all the kids' stuff (arts and crafts, toys, games, sports equipment, books) go. If the children are all doubled up in their bedrooms, I'd assume there's not enough space in their personal bedrooms for everything. Love love your artistic ability - just wanna know your kiddie storage secrets!
I am highly doubtful this is their primary residence or where the majority of the kids' things actually reside as per her opening comment of, "Hi I'm Leslie, welcome to my home in California."
