When a young, deaf schoolgirl is bullied and left to take the long walk home alone, she realizes that she's being followed and a frantic game of cat and mouse begins. growing ever more sinister as it becomes clear that she may never make it home again. This is based on a true story, about an incident involving a school girl who was stalked as she walked home alone after a day out with friends.

This one is so disturbing.. me as a mother: to all the parents out there- please try your best to never be too late to pick up your children. This movie shows exactly why. Great job!!
I like human horror more than the ghosty ones
Then you've come to the right place. We, too, are interested in the human side of horror. Not to say there can't be monsters, or ghosts, or something inhuman involved with the stories - but we will always care about how humans feel fear the most.
I Definitely agree with you; because in the more human horror they set up situations that so easily can and does HAPPEN, it’s such a visceral fear. We might not truly think a vampire will chase us but the cold fear of being alone and in a situation of being defenseless....or being a terrified mother seeing your kid’s phone in a bag as evidence? That’s true terror. My only problem with this particular piece which was perfect until the jump scare end. Would have been much better without. A good one none the less!

*For everyone questioning why the doll was there*
Ok. Buckle up this is going to be a long one.
First of all. This should be noted right away. We dont actually know what happened here.
We know that the guy was obsessed with her because he had a doll version of her. (Creepy, it would make sense if he was the father but he isnt.)
He did say that he tried to help her near the end but do we really know that for sure? We dont know this character. He could have been lying. We dont know his intentions.
Maybe he did have some bad intentions. Because he was clearly obsessed with her.
Now looking at some minor details.
Near the end. When we get the full shot of the doll, we can see that the blood is *ONLY* in between her legs. Is this a coincidence? Maybe not.
(Just a reminder. The doll is her.)
It might be suggesting that she was raped by this man. Most likely when she passed out
I dont think that the doll was just put there because spook factor. That just wouldn't make sense in the movie like this. I think that the directors did a great job here.
I agree. I just have one question, if you can't answer, obviously, it's fine, I'm just confused, lol. If he cut her hair, like he did to the doll (which would further support this theory), why would he do that? Does that symbolise anything specific? What was the point of that? In the end, you can't really see if her hairs cut. And her hair was tied up from the start, so it's impossible to tell. I feel like the director/s intentionally did that, which is pretty skilled.
@@user-ri3oz1hi4k oh, i did not notice he cut the hair, honestly i dont know about this one, can you show me that scene? I will try to investigate that.
This is the best explanation
@@user-ri3oz1hi4k I think he cut her hair because she lost some of her hair when she was entangled in the branches 8:11
Your observations are great, however, I think if it had been his intention to help her, he would have told the police that he had run after her, chased her through the wood and finally lost track of her. Also he can't have been obsessed with her cause he didn't know her, I think it was a coincidence that she looked like his doll. He was a predator that's sure.
I dont understand why you would leave your phone just like that in the middle of a conversation. Its okay to forget it sometimes when you have your hands full with bags.

Having the father's male friend pick her up is just as bad as her walking alone. Most sexual abusers are friends of family members.

@@rowenamckinley1079 I didn't mean to sound double-standard-ish because yes, even a woman could also be capable of abuse. I said male because it was a man in this story. Also, a man is a high risk in this case because there is a girl. If it was a boy, a woman would also pose this high risk.

Wait, my question is, was that guy actually trying to help? You don’t grab a girls head from a window, especially that aggressively. Like- what..
We dont know that. Thats why the doll was put in this movie. The guy is obsessed with her. We dont actually know if he had any bad intentions or not. Even tho he says he tried to help
That was weird. Because even if he was trying to get her before she ran, because he knows she's deaf, that was the WORST way to do it!
When voice doesn't help, you have to get physical. He grabbed her by the collar which seems like a bad move but hey, your voice can't reach to her, Therefore, every physical actions are bad to her whilst she in distress.
@@theTrend7 death or deaf?
Obviously he was not going to help. I think he raped her. The doll was presenting her while it was naked and was bleeding between her legs and the van driver was whispering "I would love you forever, as much as I possibly can."
The doll made it look like she got kidnaped but we see her alive in the woods at the end... There's a few things that doesn't make sense.
It appears the film is trying to do two things: hint that she may have been captured and killed, but also leaving ambiguity as to whether she really did get lost while running away from her father's friend who claims he was trying to help her. What do you think happened?
As for the last shot, it's hard to say if that's literal or (our assumption) it's more metaphorical.
@@WatchALTER I didn't understand how the doll fits the story.
-At first I though there was a promise between the daughter and the doll (I assumed the doll would be the monster or the one who protects the daughter from evil).
-Then I realized the doll is similar to the daughter(I assumed the doll would be a "vudu doll" created by a female childhood friend who is obssesed with the daughter)
-Then the voice changed to male(why?), the lower body part of the doll started bleeding(rape?) and its hair is missing(completed vudu ritual?)... and the male adult tried to grab the mother's hand(is the daughter a nuisance to his relationship with her mother?).
@@DuskSunDawn i know I'm not alter😂😂but my thoughts , dude was definitely a pedophile who was already obsessed with his friend daughter that's why he had a doll look a like, i think the girl voice at the beginning was to throw us off because you would expect a little girl would be talking to a doll before a grown ass man , at the end he definitely probably raped her with the intent to kill her by the look of horror on her face , but she survived, and he just grabbed the mother's hand to throw her off ( fake sincerity).
@@DuskSunDawn seems like the doll let us know the young girl was sexually assaulted after all,and left in the woods.
The Trend yes, the blood and the doll says it all.
7:30 I don't think she would have ran more than a few feet after losing her hearing aid as she would have 1) felt it falling off of her ear and 2) immediately felt that she has gone deaf! so logically she'd definitely look directly below the branches her hair was entangled in.
Intense movie and subject matter. Well played by young actress. I was yelling " get out of the woods, stay on the road.."! She placed herself away from anyone to help her.

RIP to my hearing. The scream in the end caught me way off guard. Warning to anyone with headphones lol. Okay so I think I understood most of this, but the ending was the only part that I don't get at all. Why did she scream like that with her face all morphed? ... 🤔 Well, either way, thanks for sharing Alter!
Alter, this was a well done film. Congratulation! As for the background of the story, I have to say, that's one of the dumbest thing a parent to could do. Send a stranger to pick up your child regardless if you send a message. There should always be an alternative plan that both the child and parent know if something happens and they can't pick up the child. Any person would have done exactly what the girl did. And the sad hindsight part of it all is the Mother knew in her heart at the end, the so call "Friend" did something horror to her daughter.
Glad to see Alter keeping on schedule with yesterday being Halloween, thank you!
This film gave me so much anxiety cuz imagine being in this situation, no hearing aid, no phone, you’re far from home, i can’t. I would go to panic mode
So wait, was that guy the friend that didn't know her that was to pick her up, and she thought it was some stranger, technically he was what a nightmare!!
Wait so shes ok I don't get the ending, why did she pop up like that?!
Just posted the same comment practically.
I was thinking she was hiding under that rubbish so she popped up like that because it was gross and cold?
Probably just a touch of a jump-scare before it all shifts away
I felt it was a cheap shot at an unnecessary jump scare before the ending. Though I'm a bit lost on the doll scenes, I felt the story was pretty good up until then. I'd even forgive the dumb decisions she made throughout and the rock that magically appeared in the most precise of places, but the very end ruined it for me.
She's a zombie now.
I like how good all horror cliches works in this one. Great job! Sound engineer of this short deserve an Oscar. You made me be jumpscared by a f*ing car. :-D
Totally of topic, but am I the only one who thinks “my thanks” or “thank you” is more polite than just saying “thanks”?
Yes. As a self-proclaimed grammar police person of several languages including English, "Thank you" is most polite. And by the way, I speak English, American, Australia, Canadian, and some New Zealand, so you know...
I think that the girl was once assaulted by someone who told her the chant that she keeps repeating as she’s disfiguring the doll that looks like her. The blood under the doll shows that she was definitely raped. Because of that experience, she prefers the quiet and freaked when the guy chased her. He might have also had bad intentions chasing her (since he seems to have feelings for her mom) but lost her when she fell and hit her head on the rock.
no it was the family friend that raped her and he's pretending to act sympathetic towards the mom so she doesn't catch on. he was obsessed with the girl.

@Kou 1 EXACTLY why don't people understand when it's so clear🤦♀️🤦♀️
So basically she's a ret@rd who thinks "all men bad"..
ngl I don’t understand what happened-
Me also
Think about this: We don't know who attacked her. The guy in the blue van ostensibly didn't know what the daughter looked like (hence her mother telling her to put the carnation in her hair). A different guy could have been looking for her after school that day -- perhaps a co-worker of her mother who knew she was working late. The mother could even have been complicit, as real the bad guy already had a doll in the daughter's image. The friend in the blue van didn't know what the daughter looked like so the doll likely belonged to the co-worker pedo. The friend in the blue van was set up as a patsy to take the fall.
We know that her dad’s co-worker was coming to pick her up in his blue work van. If we go back a bit you can see how the guy following her has a smiley face on his jacket and at the end when jack says she ran away, they show the smiley face on his jacket showing that he’s the one that followed her and harmed her. The guy seemed as he was obsessed with the girl because he has a doll that looks like her, when she gets her hair caught on the branch you can see how there was a lot of hair left on the tree and after that they show a scene of the doll getting her hair cut so that goes to show he was following her and he knew what was happening to her. Towards the end you hear someone saying that they love her and forever will while we see the doll with blood come from in between her legs meaning that she could’ve gotten raped and left in that ditch

the man definitely had nefarious intentions. You don't sit and stall the car if you're not a creep. You actually get out of the car or wave or something to show the girl that your intentions are innocuous. This man was trying to instill fear since the beginning, a true sociopath. Even if he's not sure it's the right girl, all he had to do is ask or talk to the girl.

Exactly! that's why I think he was guilty!! At the end when he was talking to the mother and the police and we find out he was the father's "friend" that mom sent to pick her up, he lied to them, he said she ran away into the forest and got freaked out when he stopped for her. Why wouldn't the mom and the police ask him why he didn't try and stop her? Now, at first he didn't know she didn't receive the text from her mom so he was confused too & wasn't sure I guess. I'm thinking, if he picked her up in the first place would he have brought her home? Or would he have taken her somewhere and raped and killed her anyway? Or did he take the opportunity to rape and kill her because he knew he could use the "excuse" and lie that she ran away from him? A normal adult would've tried to calm her down with hand signals, and tell her what he was there to do, pick her up and take her home.

This is actually a really old video already posted up on a few other channels. It was recorded a long time ago alter I guess just now got the go-ahead to be able to display it
Older phones tend to be built more sturdy for lack of a better word compared to these smartphones. I had a samsung slider phone in highschool and dropped it on concrete and it was fine and just had a small scrape on the side. I dropped my iPhone 4 on the carpet in my living room and it somehow cracked the screen.
In the thumbnail, it looks like someone fired an arrow in to that girl's forehead! That's what I was expecting to happen.
I thought this short was fantastic! A very tense atmosphere throughout. That girl was already in a bad position, before the family member started stalking her, (being deaf, getting bullied, forgetting her phone, etc). She went through a terrifying experience.
15:28 the doll just had her first aperiod
*How are we to trust **_anyone_** in this world?* 😓😞

The best thing about being Deaf is that u don't have to listen to the idiotic masses
It does seem to imply a rape situation but. The doll thing was a dream she had before, maybe about wishing her mom would come save her. Her dream after she hit her head on the rock would have been what she was terrified of happening--I know a lot of people say he buried her after assaulting her but if you look closely, he's walking away from her and his body is facing such a way that he might not have even seen her lying there. The end scene could have been her waking up with a bad head wound and disoriented/scared. The guy's reaction toward the mom might be feeling guilt because his chasing after her caused her to go deeper into the woods and become lost.
I think this too. People are wrong when they say he's had bad intentions, I don't think so but for sake of drama, they made it look like he did a little.
This is a reupload? I saw this somewhere else before awhile ago...I don't remember what channel.
Screamfeast
@@MitishaRana I knew it. Sometimes it makes me feel as though I'm going crazy.
You probably saw it on Screamfest. They have several films that they both promote.
oww shit... this is something that will stay in my minds forever and ever... this thriller was so intense and it was predictable that she won't make it but i wanted a good ending so badly... in the end they said that the guy with a blue van was a family friend who has to take her, but the fact he was chasing the girl made me think that he was a rapist, and i almost thought how this situation got fucked up but then i remember the doll in the cutscenes which hair was cut of, she was left undressed and bleeding, and in reality her mom didn't gave a hand for this so called "family friend"... this is so cruel and sad, this film is too realistic...
