Filipino parents ALWAYS tell their kids, “we have nothing to leave you but your education.” It’s a family’s pride and symbol of hope to have the children finish up to post secondary education. Not so well off families celebrate every graduation regardless of level because it’s a feat, breaking their backs working just to send the kids to school. Thus, the song tribute to parents in graduation ceremonies.
This is why we wanted to help our parents, though it's not a responsibility but giving back for all the sacrifices they did just to make sure we have a good education 😢
Yes, symbol of hope cause they made their child a retirement plan and a walking atm, yes
@@chii7929i am from the Philippines and now living in the US for 8 yrs, my husband is also Filipino. Never did my parents treat me as an ATM nor a retirement plan. Maybe some of my countrymen experience it which is so sad.
“Nothing to leave but your education” haha literal na tinagalog per word hahaha
That’s how much Filipinos respect their parents. Our parents have given their all to help us through life. Especially in the Philippines with so much hardship.😢My grandparents moved to Hawaii for their children, for a better life.
As a former student of New Era University, graduations are being held in Ph Arena… I graduated there last July and it was emotional. We sang this song too and at the chorus, we would look back ( at the audience ) and too look at our parents saying thanks ans singing this to them😊
INC means....Iglesia Ni Cristo(Church of Christ) is a religious sect in the Philippines
Graduation is not only for the students but also for acknowledging the love and support of our parents 😢😢❤️❤️
INC stands for Iglesia Ni Cristo, a religion here in the Philippines. The students are from the New Era University which is also owned by the INC. The venue is The Philippine Arena the biggest indoor arena in the world also owned by the INC.
Correct is that the popular cult?
Wala naman nagtatanong marites ka naman masyado. kain tayo dinuguan
@@pogiproblems2659shame on you
@@pogiproblems2659 what's your definition for Cult?
Probably he mean sect or religious group other slang word meaning for cult!
OMG! This is my school! Awit ng Anak sa Magulang is like our own MAPA (SB19). 🥹💙
I didn't expect this😲 NEU Alumna here! Just graduated last June 28. Every graduation is held in the Philippine Arena (formally owned by the NEU, built by the Iglesia Ni Cristo) we sing this song every graduation
NEU is a non-sectarian university, by the way.
philippine school graduations from kindergarden up to college has multiple songs in the program. 1 song as a graduation batch song, 1 song dedicated to the teachers and 1 song dedicated to the parents. plus the national anthem and the school hymn if there are any.... usually these 5 are always present in all graduations.
My God ! I keep crying watching this. Thanks moms and dads. Everything we have is because of you . Your love will transcends lifetime after lifetime! Thank you guys for this video.
The Philippine Arena is the largest indoor arena in the world. It was built by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) for their large events, such as baptisms, Bible studies, INConcerts, and graduations held at New Era University, which is also owned by the Church. Instead of naming it after the Church, they decided to name it "Philippine Arena" so that non-INC events can also be held in the arena.
iglesia ni Manalo
Hi guys, I am a Roman Catholic, and I am not happy with what you guys are saying to other Churches. Let them be! That's their beliefs, and they found the love of God in this Church. Let's love and respect one another, though we have differences. Because at the end of the day, it is we who are making our own fate, if are we worthy to be in heaven or not.
@@mikeinisraeltalking to Idi0ts is a wait of your time. improving them won’t still make them successful in life.!😊
@mikeinisrael are you sure that the two saying bad words on INK is a Roman Catholic? Hmmmm
@@jaro6349 Show some proof that they're a cult not just typing here😂
Graduation songs in the Philippines is basically a tribute to parents. We have it when we graduate in grade school, high school, and college.
music is deeply rooted in almost any aspect of our life and structures in our PH society structure especially schools. To make it short, it will be part of a child's life (home and school) definitely shapes him or her maybe not a singer but love for music and it will go over and over for many years as long as no one will ban music in the country.
You can't possibly help but to tear up when you hear this. The lyrics were touching😢😢😢
Awit or kanta are words that can be used as a noun or a verb. So it can mean "song" or "(to) sing". So the title of the song "Awit ng Anak" is "A Child's Song" in direct translation to English. The Filipino language has no 'son/daughter' word---we use 'anak na lalaki' (son) and 'anak na babae' (daughter).
THAT’S MY BATCH GRADUATION!
Time flies so faaast! 2017❤
May I know the title of the song? I really love d lyrics
Philippine Arena is where the Asia Artists Award was held, where SB19 performed their medley. It's owned by the Iglesia ni Cristo, a religious organisation in the Philippines.
Philippine schools have elaborate graduation ceremonies. That song is actually a graduation song. Graduation is a HUGE academic milestone for Filipinos. To finish senior high school and college is a big celebration for parents who highly esteem education!
that university is run by INC who also owns the philippine arena. that explains why the graduation ceremony is held there
That's where AAA 2023 was held, as well as the concerts of Bruno Mars, Black Pink, Twice and other foreign acts.
I was so teary eyed watching this...I can't hold my feelings to the lyrics of this song, all parents sacrifices to bring up and mold thier kids into a good and productive child,I was crying remembering all the sacrifices of my mother from the day i was born til to the last of her breath....
The religious organization that owns the arena also owns the university
I'm a newly retired high school teacher. This brought me to tears. I miss the classroom. Not the amounts of paper work from admin.
In some schools these last years even the parents/guardians were called to the stage to receive awards for the hardwork and support to the students. I know coz I've certificates at home. It makes me happy to see my mother being recognized/appreciated in this manner as guardian to my niece coz when we were growing up she barely shows up in school even in enrollment or recognitions coz she has to work.😊
INC-Iglesia ni Cristo. is a religious group in the Philippines.
In the Philippines every end of school year there’s awarding, end of school programs or commencement or ceremonies like this and everyone is included not just selected students, including parents. And in events like this is when we acknowledge not just the students but also our parents for all their hard-work and sacrifices of our parents to be able to pay for our tuition. Unlike here in the west you’re on your own, you get your own student loan, you work to pay your own bills and you take care of yourself.
Sacrifice of the parents make there children finish there studies. That’s song for there thanksgiving and kindness of parents. Most important want there children successful in there life ..
Thank you so much for this video...I cried a lot bcoz this song is dedicated to all parents... their hard work for their children to fulfill their dreams come true...Salute to all the parents Congratulations to all the Graduates
Philippine arena was where cold play had their concert last January 2024 ang another kpop group a week before cold play. Lower classmen sang for their graduating upper classmen.
After watching my kid's graduation I can say this is now common. There's now a part in the graduation program where the graduates honor their parents.
My niece is one of the graduates in that program. And she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Education degree. That singing part is a tribute of tge students to their Mothers and Fathers. Tgats why the song is ALAY NG ANAK.
One thing you will learn about Filipinos, we don't play when celebrating. Whether it's a birthday, wedding, graduation, etc, we do it big, and in a nice setting if we can. We do it in a way where it's very unforgettable, full of fun and emotions, and will wow everyone. We decorate and create a whole program. We create memories. That's how we roll!
Graduation ceremonies in the Ph is so emotional, cause it is really hard to make it to universities, a lot of Filipino youth used to be a working student in order to finish studies, some families can afford but not all. it is one of the reasons why it is more emotional during this kind of event.
NEU(New Era University) amd the Philippine Arena was owned by a Christian religious group called INC(Iglesia Ni Cristo/Church of Christ), and the song was written and sang by its members.
INC is an acronym name of a religious sect in the Philipines which is called Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). Thanks for sharing this video. Yes, graduation rites in the Philippines have graduation hymns which can make you teary-eyed if you sing it by heart.
New Era University is owned by the Iglesia Ni Cristo Est.1914, which also owns the Philippine Arena.
I Love watching you both guys.... Especially when your content is about Filipino.... I am Filipino and I'm so proud of our country.... God bless you both....
OMG! I am here, you can see me here!!! I am one of the graduates from that batch
Every time that I hear this song, it makes me emotional. Awit ng Anak sa Magulang is my most favorite song. Hope that one day I'll be able to sing this to my parents. My career is still unstable. But I believe that soon I'll be able to let them experience the best things that I can give because they made me finish my studies.
This is a tribute song to the parents. This is a usual part of graduation exercises program in the Philippines.
Universities in the Philippines these days tend to have grammer and high schools attached to them so tgat might explain some of the junior high singers.
Fyi the Philippine Arena is the worlds largest indoor arena. The New Era University is managed by Iglesia ni Cristo or INC, n INC is one of the major religious group ( but they actually are not truly or far from traditional Christian , n they are "own" or manage the Phil Arena). So no problem for New Era to use it. Fyi this was d venue of the ASIA ARTIST AWARDS 2023 where SB19 were give n 2 major awards.
I remember when we graduate in highschool year 1995-1996 we sang for our graduation song is 😊Hero to our parents
I am also an alumna of NEU but during our time, graduations were held inside the Tabernacle in Central Avenue, QC, just stones throw away from the main campus of NEU. We never had the chance to sing this song, too.
INC stands for Iglesia Ni Cristo, a big religious group in the Phil and also it has spread in almost all parts of the world
Oh my! My first time to watch this, Am i the only one watching with tears..😂😭
Wow....awit ng anak sa magulang,ORIGINALLY from NEW ERA UNIVERSITY..at PHILIPPINE ARENA.
everyone has to sing in graduations! our HS graduation(2007-08) song was "THE PRAYER"
That's the place where SB 19 collab with &TEAM . WHEN THEY PERFORM GENTO...
"awit" is the tagalog word for "song". anak is son/daughter or child, "awit ng anak" roughly translates to "song of the child" (to the parent).
yep all of them graduation sing bcos is memorable highschool and college just always memorable
Commencement Exercises are basically the combine Graduation for the different levels of an educational institution, from elementary, high school up to university level in this case of New Era Uni (NEU). This was probably a combined Baccalaureate Mass for all levels with the actual graduation ceremonies for each level on a separate schedule.
The Philippine Arena together with NEU are under the INC.
My Alma Mater😌 #NEU🌟
Proud to be I.N.C💚🤍❤
Education is a must in the Philippines
This actually really common in a graduation ceremony. Usually student sing a song for the parents but this in in a big scale.
Ink is the equivalent of the Mormon church of the Philippines. They have a university named New Era University.
Song is very touchy I did cried every time I listen to the song remind me of my mother
It reminds me when I graduated there in 6th Grade, we had graduation practice just to sing the graduation song in tune and even had an arrangement whose alto, soprano and melody :) .
INC is a Filipino prostestant christian foundation. The Philippine arena is owned, if I’m not wrong, by the INC. It is the largest indoor arena in the Philippines, if not in the world. Another point is that Universities in the Philippines usually has levels from elementary through higher education courses. That is why you see a junior high perfoming too in this occasion.
Philippine Arena is the biggest Arena in the world and owned and built by the Iglisia ni Kristo !
Whoever you are, stop commenting on this cause you don't even understand the wordings.this song is a sign of respect and gratitude to the elderly that took care of them.Stop making jokes about them. This is showing love for their parents.
Nothing quite like American graduation. It’s super big deal and will make you cry
INC stands for Iglesia ni Cristo, a religion in the Philippines who happens to own the New Era University and the Philippine Arena
1:18 if i'm not mistaken, the Phlippine Arena and the New Era University are both owned by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
INC acronym for Iglesia ni Cristo, one of the religious movement in the Philippines and NEU is an acronym for New Era University an learning institution established by INC.
❤♥️🙏🙏🇵🇭🇵🇭thank you so much..🥰 INC here..God Bless🙏🙏
Every graduation in the Philippines there is always a part in the program giving 6 thanks to the sacrifices of the parents.
INC means Iglesia ni Cristo its one of religion in Philippines and there's also in other countries. I think they owned the The New Era college and Philippines Arena.
INC is Iglesia Ni Cristo in tagalog Church of Christ in English, I am a member of INC, and proud to be one 🤩. The venue is the Philippine Arena, owned by Iglesia ni Cristo. And the NEU is New Era University, owned by Iglesia ni Cristo and they also own the New Era General Hospital and the Philippine Stadium
