    Imagine if an EAS Scenario where it goes off, but all it says is, "This has been a test, of the emergency alert system", and a bunch of chaos and shi- is secretly going on outside, but every time the system goes off, all it says is "This is a test of the emergency alert system". Like every time it goes off, it says it's a test, then says something crazy, and abnormal but no one can see anything happening. Eventually the alert system starts to sound weird, like glitching out, or a deep voice in the background and it turns out everything it's been saying is actually happening, but the system keeps acting like nothings wrong. I honestly don't know why I decided to put this here it literally just popped up in my head.

    It is a reference to the moon in Local 58, ranging from the cartoons made about moons, then causing absoloute disasters, just by the moon, and what happens in the events, and it ends in a happy ending, people recover, maybe even come back from what the creatures they were made into by the moon, but overall, I think it would make a good EAS Scenario.

    It's kinda crazy to think about how Yellowstone hasn't erupted yet, the areas all around the park actually have quite a lot of seismic activity, like thousands of events per month and not all small ones. The place is constantly shaking it up and the supervolcano just refuses to erupt. I'm not a professional geoscientific professorizer or anything, but to my understanding it's less that earthquakes cause volcanic eruptions and more the opposite, where volcanoes tend to result in earthquakes. Which is good and bad, if that's the case, it means we won't have to worry as much about the frequency of seismic activity going on there, but it also means that Yellowstone will probably give like, absolutely no warning before it blows its lid.
    I'm also kinda puzzled by this subplot about how humans deserve Yellowstone's eruption, I'm not saying human hubris isn't obnoxious and detrimental to the earth but Yellowstone has been sitting on a hotspot for like 17 million years, long before hoomans but I guess you could just say those people in this story were just crazy lol

    • @independentskarab7775
      @independentskarab7775 2 года назад +5

      Sorry for the 7-month-later reply, just thought your comment was interesting :P
      Yellowstone's hotspot as moved a lot over the past few million years, and I feel like the phrasing of Yellowstone as a 'ticking time bomb' makes it seem like it'll erupt at any moment. But there seems to be no true sign of a proper eruption anytime soon. There is no order to Yellowstone's periods of dormancy and its periods of eruptive activity, as although it may seem like recent eruptions have been spaced out over relatively constant periods of time, previous large, caldera-forming eruptions have also been known to have been spaced out over millions of years. You're right on the spot with volcanoes causing seismic activity, though! The movement of magma under volcanoes causes tremors, and these tremors may become more noticeable as the magma moves closer to the surface. Of course, not all volcanic-induced earthquakes lead to a volcanic eruption. I would say that the fact that Yellowstone hasn't had a large eruption yet is a bit of a given; there seem to be no real signs of eruptive activity, apart from the seismic activity, which doesn't exactly indicate that an eruption is imminent. Just my two cents on it, though. If you're interested in learning more, you might want to check out GeologyHub.
      Again, sorry for replying after like 7 months lol, no harm intended

      i know the creators wanted to make things ambiguous as to whether he was fully human or not, but it would have been funny if nature man had croaked it during the middle of his final speech and his supposed "protection" by mother nature was a fluke, as was the eruption happening. he'd just spent years building up to being vindicated by his eco-fascist "hUmAnS aRe ThE dIsEaSe we all need to die" beliefs
      like a guy comes up to him asking if he can spare some food bc his pregnant wife (who is not a rich businessman or politician, the group of people most committed to actually hurting the planet with no regards for life) is starving and gets so irritated by his noncommittal "tch stupid SELFISH humans, always thinking of yourselves" responses he just goes "right then" and cracks his head with a rock
      it's sick, i know, but it would also validate the "everything would be better if our species just got wiped out" people and their pessimistic view of human nature, as well as giving people annoyed by nature man a morbid laugh bc mate we know we're killing the planet shut up

Nature man was intended to be a main character that no one likes. He talked with repetitive truth. The irony in his actions, the tone of his voice was all considered when making this. Hell, even I dont like Nature man, and I'm the one who wrote him into existence!

    That man's speech at the end though... I lived through the 2021 Texas winter storm AND power outage. No power at my place for 4 days. We had to get a power generator and the fireplace going just so we could even survive. Our government acts like it'll be fixed, but we had Cruz escaping with his family instead of trying to help. The only person that made headlines in the state for actually donating to help the citizens wasn't even part of the government... And even now, even when we want to be connected to the national power grid...which could have given us power and saved so many lives...Abbott does nothing about it. It's all about the numbers, as the narrator said. We weren't ready for the disaster, and Garret attempting to get supplies just so his family could survive is just like families attempting to get heat but only dying from another cause. That whole speech just gave me chills, and I think I even started to cry a bit. An incredible take on a Yellowstone scenario EAceS and Beans, glad that people managed to survive as well. But oh my did it get emotional.
