Some much-missed children's swings and playgrounds, on the Isle of Portland. Swings have proven health and development benefits, and are enjoyed by people of all ages. It is sad when cuts result in the loss of some much-enjoyed play facilities.

As a child growing up on Portland in the 80s I loved going on the swings on the grassy embankment above the promenade at chesil beach that was below my old school (under hill juniours) I remember once day going to swing on them and it was just a square concrete slab and no swings!! It totally ripped my heart out as a child when they removed them. I never found out why??
