  • Blue Mountain Bike Park is in the Poconos about an 1.5 hours from downtown Philly. They boast the greatest vertical in PA (1070 ft), have some great trails and although they have a ways to go to catch up to their competition in North Jersey, it's definitely worth a trip if you're in the area. A word of warning, this is not a place to take beginners nor is it the best place to go if you're new to park riding. The trails are steep, loose and rocky. The riding is rougher and the beginner trails here are definitely more advanced than you'll find at other parks. That said, if you know what you're doing and have a capable bike, you can have a real blast here and will seldom have to deal with lift lines or a ton of people on the trails. Things get a bit dusty, so it's best to hit Blue after it rains and you get some of that "brown pow" to soften up the trails.

How is the difficulty of this trail compared to mountain Creek because mountain Creek looks more bigger air and more tech. I plan on hitting this place up on labor day weekend. I have never ridden park but I can american bunny hop over things 14 inches high and boost on jumps and do drops off waist high drops casually. I am riding a nukeproof scout ( am hardtail with 65 hta, plus tires and with a rockshox pike at 140mm )
I ask because I will most likely be going solo.

Mt. Creek tech is definitely tougher, but the jumps and flow are much smoother there. If you have a choice, I'd say go to Creek. If not, you'll do fine at Blue with your skill level, but it's kind of a rocky & rough place for a hard tail.

Do you remember which trail you were at on the 4:03 mark? Don't think I rode that one yet!
