@@sonicovertime@sonicovertime Yeah it's the 7 fake emeralds. They can show up anywhere from Checkpoints, emblem locations, monitors, tokens etc. randomly selected each level. Pressing tab lets you see how many are in a level, and each requires a "sacrifice" of some kind (lives, continues, rings, shields, tokens, etc.) Getting them all lets you go Dark Sonic. And if you go and bash enough baddies after that transformation, then... you'll see lol
dude i fell in love with this mod instantly, love all the little refrences, sprites, and secrets that come with the mod, well worth the wait if you ask me.

I am way past impressed with the moves, sound effects, and animation of this Sonic. Nice touch with the pool sequence? The devs who did this well …… I’ll play with you some other time. He's Super Mystic Sonic but with somehow less movement control. Unless you're cracked on addy you're just gonna fly into walls and off the map. Also you pretty much have to change characters if it's a water level and you're not just skipping all the water parts. He's annoyingly useless in any amount of water which is unfortunate, though a funny nod to Sonic X. I'd hoped he'd be more flexible so that normal players could enjoy him too. I love the design and his easter eggs and even the bloodlust mechanic but overall he's just a less intuitive SMS and is meant to skip 90% of the level. If you actually want to play the game and go through the levels he's just not granular enough in his movement. You're either going incredibly slow or incredibly fast. At least SMS had ways to stop movement like the ground slam. I still think X Sonic is really cool and artistically awesome. If they either add a more granular mode to him where he has more control or expand on his movement abilities to allow actual methodical gameplay instead of just memorizing and practicing jumps and angles like it's CS, he'd be excellent. I can appreciate and understand skillful usage of movement to beat the level quickly, and expect a lot of "git gud lol," but that is such a specific playstyle catered to only veterans who wanna beat the levels in as short a time as possible. I was just never an SMS "beat each level in under 20 seconds" kinda player, so it sucks that that gives me a lot less to look forward to as a result. Let me know if I'm missing anything, cheers!"

Fun fact: I meet Jason griffith last month, and talk about other things + with X sonic srb2 mod is gonna come out. Now he was curious about it, but I don't think he was interested in that since he's a busy man at the time. And the face he remembers everything from dark sonic and well....... (sonic 06 scene) since I got a copy of sonic 06. But is still refreshing to see this mod that takes back for sonic x vibes and stuff FR 🥲
