Thanks for the help Boss I got it running using your method , also you can change the buttons with the option menu in game , for me that menu was set to the L3 or left click button then change to fit your needs.

I was wondering if you could help, I've followed all of your steps and can't get the game to run. It keeps coming up with a message saying "Some of the data have been damaged. Please run Setup again"
Did you ever encounter this problem?

You must be trying to run it from the exe it gives you that message , you either have to play it from heroic game launcher or install Luteis and install the offline setup and once done right click on resident evil then go to configure then runner options and enable dgvoodoo and save , and the game will run now I’m currently testing the lutris version right now trying to get FMVs to work but there is little info on Reddit right now

Try downloading the rebirth mod the FMVs are broken on Linux until we get update for proton

I know that there’s a problem with dinput you can fix this if you have Lutris and add multiple DLL overrides but on heroic you only can do one at a time , you can possibly switch to keyboard in the options menu by clicking down on the left stick

nope doesn't work for the second game following these steps. i get a pop up that says " failed to initilze DIRECTX(R)
