Even if the war ends tomorrow, I don't think hosting would benefit Ukraine that much, their local economy probably won't get a boost from tourism because of the war.
You are probably right about that.

If I had a bet UK will host esc 2023 period
I wouldn't bet on it with the cost of living crisis happening
Ucraine hosting eurovision 2023
Me manifesting a Luxembourg return: 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I don’t know why they left esc
UK going to host!!, yessssss.
Rtve already said they are not going to host
Btw what i know so far is that i need to have a lot of patient for the live on tape performance if they are going to reveal 3 a day
I hope Hungary returns and maybe Slovakia. I think if the contest can´t be held in Ukraine it´s gonna be in one of the Big Five Countries
I hope some new countries will return or debut
The UK is hosting! Top places to host are
Cardiff
Birmingham
Glasgow
Any update on if Hungary are interested in rejoining the competition in the future? Always liked their songs whenever they entered, would like to see them return.
Nope
As long as Orban will be in power, they won’t join.
Gabe, a reaction video to the news please" ... who will compare, interval act..
how about Sam Ryder singing with Queen, that would be legendary.
We will have a Live Stream this weekend with Gabe so stay tuned :)
We might see a situation that has not yet been done in 43 years.
It's not 2005 or 2017.
We don’t know would it be in Russia or in London?
Idk, i want Turkey to return 🥺
I really want us to return too, but i don’t have much hope for this year :(
@@pontiacxbandit weren't the elections in turkey scheduled for april 2023 or something? Also, I thought EBU has been in contact with TRT about a possible return.....TRT even hosted some event last month where appearently EBU stated that they hoped for a closer partnership with the broadcaster.....now, who knows what that could actually mean for your country, but it would be perfect if you could return, especially since some countries declared their intentions of withdrawing from the contest :(
Let Uk host next year after all they should have won this year🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Oh is that why they ended up fifth by the televote "should have won"
@@Garfieldfreakje Given that the UK won the jury vote, it probably would if it wasn't for [I'm sorry but this is true] sympathy votes for Ukraine. And I completely get why people would do that, I'm just saying.
@@WilliamSanders1111 you do know that if you delete the points from ukraine spain ended up first it was calculated
@@Garfieldfreakje Excuse me? The UK were second, so if you delete the points from Ukraine, the UK would have won.
@@WilliamSanders1111 no because the points would be replaced for example if ukraine got twelve points then the country that was second got the twelve points that's math 😉
I want Kosovo just for the petty drama and the music
I hope we The netherlands can host it for real. Hosting in a time of restrictions due to the pandemic was no fun.
I hope Turkey will come back
USA??? lol

Would acts go to Ukraine?
I cannot imagine many would.
Ukraine will not orgamized the competition because money a lot of money the country needs for organized; they say that they can but everyone know that is not true.
I hope Poland hosts. There are million of Ukrainian refugees there and hopefully people in Ukraine would feel included in the celebration.
At least Russia will not participate, but SU-57 will fly from Russia if Sweden and Finland joins NATO.
I find that Spain or some other low-key or neutral country will host next year like Norway, Switzerland or Iceland to name a few.
I find that the UK hosting next year to be untenable due to the following:
1. Political Instability.
There is no real leadership in the UK at this current time due to vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Johnsons leadership after the PartyGate scandal, you need a stable functioning government in place for atleast 6-9 months minimum whilst the contest takes form and shape, whilst having that government liaise and communicate with the Broadcasters and the EBU and all other relevant parties responsible, I don't see the government being able to resolve the controversy at hand any time soon and there is also the lingering threat of a 2nd confidence vote and even a General Election on the horizon both of with would take resources and headlines away from the contest.
2. Cost of Energy & Cost of Living Crisis
Right now, the UK as well as many other countries are facing a huge financial hardship with the cost of living and cost of energy. Many countries like Spain took the initiative and made decisive action to lesser the blow on their people. The British parliament did not act until it was already a crisis, like Covid. Now 3 out of 5 homes in the nation are now in dire straits and have seen their bills rise by around 35% - 50% more than this time last year. The British taxpayers won't be happy when they see their taxes being used to fund a glorified sing-song on Ukraine's behalf as they can't do it themselves for the obvious reasons. They will be fuming. That money that they pay should be used to help lessen the financial blow of the crisis the people are facing not paying for a Eurovision Hosting as interim.
3. Ukrainian Visa System.
If the UK is going to host the contest for Ukraine, then the refugee system should be fit for purpose and not sending those who are so incredibly vulnerable back to war zones and conflict striken home towns for flimbsy excuses like minors being unaccompanied; For example, There was 2 sisters 18 & 13 years of age travelling to escape the conflict and were put up in Montenegro as the UK refugee paperwork was processed, the conditions they were kept in were squalor and to add further insult to injury thr older sister who is 18 got her application accepted, the younger sister who is 13 was forcibly sent back to her hometown in Ukraine whilst it was in the grips of a Russian assault. Completely unacceptable if you ask me and proves the system is not working to save even the most at risk. Why should the UK be given the honor of hosting on Ukraine's behalf when it has slammed the door in the face of the most vulnerable at this time?
4. Airline Failures.
Due to the reintegration into society again post lockdown, British Airlines, flights and airports have been struck will obscene delays, last minute cancellations and having passengers stranded all over the world with very little advice, assistance or support. This issue won't go away anytime soon, it's no good having the contest in the UK when flights from all over the world are being cancelled and removed at very short notice and stranding people at airports or losing their hard earned money at a time where things are already tight.
5. Miscellaneous.
Given the UK has helped Ukraine with the support of training their troops, sending supplies like weaponry and aid and leading the way of sanctions against Russia. If the UK is announced as host it could be seen to many as political favouritism. Additionally, if the UK is chosen as host it makes the UK a even bigger target for cyber attacks made by Russia.
So, there you have it, the UK is NOT prepared to host next year, we may have the infrastructure in place like arenas and hotels but given the homegrown crisis that the UK is facing it makes the position as interim host untenable, unworkable and unachievable.
If I had any say in where the contest next year should be hosted it should be Spain. Impeccable resources, cheap venues, hotels and Airbnbs are bountiful in most cities, one of the worlds best public transport systems including Air travel. And above all the Spanish deserve it for at least truing every year, unlike the UK when this is the first time in about 20 years that they actually gave a damn about thr contest and made a effort.
So here's to Barcelona 2023!
Spain already confirmed that they won't be hosting.
@@kristinab9103 At the time of writing I did not know that, I think its a incredibly stupid move on the Spanish to do that but their decision.
I'd suggest hosting in italy: after all these reasons, they already know how to avoid cyber attacks. probably UK will be chosen, but I think Italy is ready for it if asked
@@nickhasneverbeenhere It will be UK. It was so clear from beginning. They are big 5 , came 2nd.and another 101 reasons.
There's more political stability in the UK than the Ukraine and some people are saying Ukraine might be able to host. I really don't understand the other concerns. They seem like political bias on your half. UK came second so the argument can be made that without the Ukraine bandwagon, the UK could have won and it only seems fair in a competition they came second in. The UK have many Ukrainian links and immigrants there and is one of the Big 5, with enough money to host it almost ANYWHERE.
Trophy have been sold for a good reasons? Respectfully disagree, Matt.
Eurovision won't be held in Ukraine. It will be UK.
@Tala Garson Weapons don't save peoples' lives, they take them away actually. Eurovision's idea was always peace, unity, togetherness. Guns promoting the war further and most definitely not uniting. There were million and one other options to support Ukraine, but they have chosen the worst one. That action was disgraceful.
@@kristinab9103 On the contrary. At the moment, providing Ukraine with more weapons is the single option remaining, because none of the others has stopped the agressor. Ideals of unity and togetherness don't mean tolerating bullies, it means standing up against them once they disrupt the ideal of peace.
If you don't want a war and truly are against guns as its source, I suggest you protest against Russian guns who are helping to conquer a new territory; and not criticise people who are rightfully defending their country.
@@kristinab9103 obviously, because when you get attacked, the only logical thing to do is stand still and take the punches, because fighting back causes more violence, right?
@@ImStevan Over 54 billions worth guns were delivered from US alone. Selling EUROVISION trophy did not add any help. They should have used money for different, peaceful purposes. Kids, eldery, homeless, schools, refugees etc...
They have chosen the wrong way and I will stand with my opinion. It was waste of trophy.
Based.
I think that 3 countries must host Eurovision:
Ukraine: Grand Final
UK: Second Semi-Final
Spain: First Semi-Final
That would be a logistics nightmare and they would need the same stage in all 3 countries to give the same conditions to all participants. Also, you do realize that the artists don't just perform on the night - they have rehearsals throughout the previous week and interviews, etc.
I hope you are just joking.
Is Eurovision man not trip on Europe!
@@kristinab9103 No, I'm serious
@@k.r.i.s.t.a.q.n.u.s.h.i. i don't think you understand how much this would cost, how difficult it would be to organize, and how much stress it would put on the acts
