Great sermon, but I think mason eisegeted (Gen. 6) the judgment was against man, not angels. The text is ambiguous as well as (Jude 6)(2 Peter 2:4). A conceptualization of a thing doesn’t make it a reality. I think people have been reading way too much into those texts trying to come up with answers in which scripture is silent. We also can’t forget much of what Jews believed came from oral traditions, not scripture.
Gen 6, Jude 6, and 2 Peter all talk about the sons of god who are being judged by Yahweh. Psalms 82 supports this context as well. The Judgement was against man and the sons of god. The flood was the result of that, and the chains were the results of what the gods did.
You don’t have to go through Peter to get to God, but the letters he wrote are God-breathed. His authority is based on his commission by God in the flesh (Jesus) calling him to be an Apostle for the church.

Man always claims that his written words were inspired by a god. That doesnt make it true? If Paul did not tell you that his written words were inspired by a god, how would you know?
@@nickjones1314 I would know because the Holy Spirit lives inside me and bears witness to my spirit that the words are from God. God has given us the capacity to receive messages from God himself in the same way a cable TV. has a receiver and can receive signals. The early church didn't have the New Testament, all they had was the Old Testament and the Holy Spirit--ultimately even the patriarch Abraham didn't have the Old Testament, all he had was an encounter with the living God. Having an encounter with God changes everything. Many people come to Christ Jesus (Yeshua) without a Bible and are led by the Holy Spirit to scripture as they seek truth.
@@Th3ologos I dont think you understand where i am coming from. How would you know the Holy Spirit if man never gave you a bible? Let me explain. The bible was mass produced 600 years ago by Germans. That means 99.999 percent of the humans on the planet were being born and dying without ever knowing anything about Jesus Yahweh Moses or Noah. So how could folks from somewhere like South America 600 years ago know about Pauls claims that his written words are God-breathed or how could folks in South America know that Yahweh created the Sun on the 4th day if man did not give them the literature?
There’s a lot in this question (it’s helps to know the historical background of the Ancient Near East and their rituals). But you’re also assuming an angel can’t assume physical form although the Bible is full of examples where angels appear as humans.
Dr. Mason what are the 3 Mechanisms that God limits depravity in the world? You mention 1. General Restraint, but I didn’t hear the other two. Thank you.

How does Peter know what God is going to do? What qualifies Peter and why must we go through Peter to get to God?
