I am a Yoruba man, and I want to emphasize that whenever you discuss issues concerning Nigeria, please refrain from blaming the Igbos. The primary problem is that many of you are not well-versed in history, yet you rush to the forefront to speak about things you don't understand. And when someone attempts to educate you, your ignorance and stubbornness often lead you to label them as Igbo or "omo àlè" (bastard) simply because they are speaking the truth.
Secondly, the government of Nigeria has weaponized poverty and ignorance to control the narrative. They commit wrongdoings and then point fingers at innocent people, making you believe their lies and blame those who are not responsible. This divide-and-conquer strategy has successfully pitted citizens against each other along ethnic and religious lines. Even the poorest in the country are manipulated into fighting their fellow citizens because the government, responsible for their suffering, tells them to.
Regarding your topic, Yorubas are not slaves to Igbos. No one is a slave to anyone. The only people who are enslaved are those living in multidimensional poverty caused by corrupt politicians. Nigeria has been particularly unfair to the Igbos, who have been attacked and marginalized simply because they possess a high IQ. Instead of embracing their intelligence and working together for the benefit of all, jealousy and pride have taken over, leading to the country's current state.
The Igbos have faced relentless persecution and massacres throughout history, from the 1940s to today. Ask yourself honestly, what have the Igbos personally done to you? Apart from the narratives imposed on you, have they wronged you in any way? The answer is likely nothing. It’s time to stop this nonsense.
The Igbos have been attacked, their businesses destroyed, and they have been stigmatized and falsely blamed for numerous atrocities without any proof. Yet, we reject their desire for their own country, forcing them to stay in a nation where they are not welcomed. If you were in their shoes, how would you feel?
Lastly, the Igbos are not your problem or your enemies. Neither are they mine. The true enemies are the politicians in your country. I didn't watch the video you posted of Senator Adeyeye from Osun State because I have no time for such nonsense. It’s unfortunate that people praise him for doing a "good job." What kind of nonsense is that? Is he not a member of APC? Is he unaware of their actions, or did he just wake up to the reality of Nigeria's situation? It’s no wonder some believe Nigerians deserve the treatment they receive from their rulers, given the way people think and behave.

@@afriknewschannel84 Well Igbos are the cause of the hatred. I sure you well read and know your history. The dancing, jubilation and Jan 15 parties celebrating Balewa and Sardauna’s death made the Hausas livid and m caused the massacres. Fast forward 2023, the Lagos is no man’s land slogan just to push a quasi Igbo candidate Vivour Rhodes on Lagosian caused the locals to ask them to go their own states to vote., a similar move was made in 2015 that made the Oba to threaten them. Well…I won't say much I believe the hatred of Igbos is a reaction to the separatist mentality(Biafra, Delta Igbo, Osu caste, etc) and territorial aggression displayed by Igbos.

We are one people as far as I am concerned. I have lots of Ibo friends. My kids best friends are Ibos. I don’t understand all these nonsense that you guys talk about. You need to go read about the history of Nigeria. Yorubas had the best in terms of everything. Yorubas were and still the most civilized people in Nigeria. We had a regional system of government before 1966. Yorubas were in the fore front in all ramifications. Who truncated the system? Do you want to know? The answer is “Igbo man” ( Aguiyi Ironsi). He destroyed the first republic and killed all the progress the country was making back then. Why did he do that? He was stupid and greedy. He wanted a centralized system where he could control everything. That’s the beginning of what we are all paying for today. Go and study your history books well. I love Ibo people. I don’t hate anyone. We are same people. But I hate all these nonsense that you people come out to say about Yoruba this; Yoruba that.

Instead of understanding that our collective problems are the politicians who seat on our commonwealth, we fight ourselves along ethnic lines while the wicked people we call leaders are busy stealing everything that belongs to us- including the politicians in the East. They are united in stealing everything from us while we are dying fighting ourselves on their behalf. The day we realize that all these guys are using us to destroy each other while they keep looting our resources , we will be able to take back what belongs to us. I am proud Yoruba man. But I don’t have any respect for African politicians- including the ones from Yoruba lands. They don’t care about us. It’s all about them. Let’s unite and demand what is best for all of us. They continue to get away with all their shenanigans all because we are so divided along ethnic lines. It’s to the advantage of the same people that are cheating us. May God help Nigeria. May our eyes open to see and understand the gimmicks of the political class. Ibos, Yorubas and Hausas are good people. Politicians are our common enemies.

By the way, why the title? How did the Yorubas become slaves to the ìgbo Traders in Nigeria. When was the last time an igbo man held the post of the Presidency in this country?
The power rotation has always happen between the Yorubas and the Fulanis. Only once since inception that someone from other tribes held the position, so I ask again, how did the Yorubas become slaves to the ìgbos?
Or you want to drag traffick by using the igbos to chase clout?
    I need your answer.

We the Northerners never wanted to be part of the igbos and the yoruba's, the western world join us together. Everything about us is different from each others. If you wanted to go nobody is holding u.
Obasanjo was the president for 8 years what stop him from dividing us? Goodluck was the president for 6 years what stop him from dividing us? and now tinubu is the president.
The question here is what did the South and East what from the north that you hate us so much?
Umaru musa was the president for just 2 years Buhari did 8 years you rule this country more than the north do but yet eveytime u complain about us what is it that you want from the north?

So, as things have fallen apart, I don't the centre can ever hold concerning the situation in the country today.
What do you think about going our separate ways in peace?
Nigeria is too big for central government, not to talk of a black man to manage.
Unless you all decide today to allow Mr Nnamdi Kanu to become the next president, if not forget it.
Why? The damages done by you the representative are unimaginable.
