Why: The vehicles can creep forward slowly when placed in neutral if the brake is not applied due to a potential Toyota transmission issue, the recall says.
Where: The recall is valid across the United States.
A Toyota recall is being issued for 280,000 model year 2022-2024 Tundra, 2023-2024 Sequoia and 2022-2024 Lexus LX 600 vehicles because they can slowly creep forward after the transmission is placed in neutral.
According to the recall, certain parts of the Toyota transmission in these vehicles can remain engaged even after being shifted into neutral. This allows engine power to continue being directed to the wheels and can potentially cause the vehicle to creep forward, which could lead to a crash, the recall says. Vehicle owners can enter their vehicle identification number (VIN) or license plate information on Toyota’s website to see if their car is part of the recall.
Software update will fix transmission issue, Toyota recall says
Toyota did not say whether it has not received any reports of injury related to the recall so far. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Toyota plans to inform vehicle owners of the recall by late April 2024. I owned a 2018 Forester XT, 2.0 turbo, CVT.. great vehicle, I put 37k miles on it before I traded it in for my 2023 Frontier P4x. Subaru are Awesome in snow and rain, Subaru AWD is so fantastic.. Great MPG and drive great. For the money you can't go wrong with a new Subie.

How do all these RUclipsrs not realize that the Hybrid models will have the same engine issues as it is the same engine! Toyota did not include hybrids in recall because they still have motive power. Engines are failing in the Hybrid models!
