yes but not on very large waves, a good friend of mine who bodyboarded very good could do it, it's funny stand up ;-) but you need surfing experience i quess, cause you have no real grip, no fins under the board it's like standing on a soap bar on a icey surface.. very hard and nearly impossible on large waves when u have to take steep turns.
