    You cannot dislike Carlos. Amazingly talented and super nice, so down to earth. Everyone enjoys watching him play and when you get that from McEnroe well you can't get much more praise than that.

    McEnroe is a tremendous commentator and interviewer.
    But is it just me, or Kyrgios is also showing a lot of talent as a commentator, very engaging and articulate.

      Kyrgios has definitely got a career in commentating, after his tennis career ends. Great sense of humour too.

      I totally agree that Nick Kyrgios is a great commentator as is Chris Eubanks. I wish ESPN would employ Paul Annecone who I think is one of the very best. McEnroe is great except when he seems to get great pleasure by player’s unfortunately, like when they are losing badly or other shortcomings, like their height. Sorry for the pun. It is in moments like that that McEnroe seems mean-spirited at some core level. Yes, he’s a legend and has great insights without over talking like some of them, but wish he could control his propensity towards being unkind.

      he is. i like how he knew carlitos' level of english and took time between phrases and used very clear, basic english lexicon to make sure all the meaning was clear for him.

    What a match! As always we can expect a good quality of tennis with Carlos and Gasquet fighting spirit And brilliant backhand gave Carlos a little scare in the first set. Carlos is my favorite tennis player since Rafa started to be inactive. I hope he Will continue to play incredibly good And prosper until he win the trophy. VAMOS🇪🇸🇵🇭

    I think he is going to surpass all the greats, at his age, he is already at an outstanding level, his maturity, and ability to remain calm and enjoy his game no matter the opponent.

    Great guy Richard G. Graceful backhand. Has been a gem of the game. Carlos is sweet cream of the present crop regarding the new talent...A genuine being. Mac was a fantastic player but seems he's an even nicer commentator too! and Observant about Carlos's tennis shoes... !

    Such a huge talent always with a smiling face😊 He brought back the crowd to watch tennis when it was getting too boring with both sides exchanging multiple shots with no creativity except perhaps for hard hitting. He is doing to today's generation what FedEx did in his haydays. Hope Alcaraz continues to inspire for a long time

    Damn, McEnroe really nailed that one. I think he’s better than Courier, in this case. Courier usually finds some personal detail that the interviewee might not feel comfortable with sharing, and goes into it. His interviews are a bit mixed imho.

    The title here is misleading. John simply said, in a joking way, "shut your mouth" to someone in the audience who said something rude, but I think also in jest. So I believe it was actually a lighthearted moment, not truly insulting as the headline would suggest. 😏 Well done. I enjoyed the interview and appreciate the great playing. ☺️

    I don't speak Spanish, but I do speak Portuguese and I would say that it was a soft insult. It is basically like saying "Calado" in Portuguese. Akin to "be quiet".
