    I liked how the show started with Jim waiting for a phone call for what Minister role he will get and then it ends with him waiting for a call to be made Prime Minister.

      @@jordan3400 Well it sorta does. The series "Yes, Minister" ended here and the next one, "Yes, Prime Minister" succeeded it immediately after.

    I remember watching this when it was first broadcast. I was too young to understand it obviously, I was 8 or 9, but my memory it was as soon as it finished my Mum turned to Dad and said "the next series is going to be rather interesting then"! I'd never seen them so excited at a TV show before!

      His manner of speech when he's trying to be 'righteous' and political usually resembles Churchill, but the hand in the shirt and over the stomach is Napoleon.

      He asked for that, there were lines in the script that he said I can do this better with just my face, he did it through all of them

      @@69mosshead The writers started noting in the scripts which lines they thought Paul Eddington could drop in favor of just expressions, if he wanted to. The man was a genius performer.

      But then they wouldn't say the name of the new show: "Yes, but not until you've been to the Palace" doesn't have the same ring to it.

      It's just the verbalization of reality. Hacker was going to be PM, the trip to the palace was just a formality.

    And six years later, John Major would become prime minister in almost the same way - Thatcher was challenged by Michael Heseltine, she quit, and those who'd supported her and couldn't stand Heseltine threw their support behind Major.

    Why why why does anyone waste their time putting a couple of mins of a show on here? Do the whole thing or dont bother. Id love to see the whole episode but search all over and youll find hundreds of yes minister full show titles but it rarely more than a min or two. Whats the point?

      I would wager that the point is to generate as much revenue as possible. Ten small clips with ads at the beginning will probably be more profitable than one full episode with two/three ads in-between. And we all know how unpopular a video can get if they have more than 2/3 ads. 🙄

      @@stanle1101 these are free vids im talking about. Im not talking about taking a full show and breaking it into several pieces. Im referring to the ones that are 1 to 2 mins in the middle of a scene thats all on its own. If you dont know the show you have no point of reference. Most of the time its not a funny part or dramatic scene. Its just some dip shit uploading anything and everything and i guess the fun part for them is when they title it full episodes or all seasons full episodes. You click it and find 70 pieces of 50 different shows.
