If only!
Don’t tease me. It’s frightening how relevant the first clip is to the moment

I wish!
God it’s depressing that a pretend PM is in every way better than anyone trying to be British PM
Surely it couldn't have always been like that.
@@Delightfully_Bitchy lately the British pm seems to be trying to outdo the previous in terms of terribleness
And Jim is a hack job of a politician😆
🤭✌Absolutely!!
@@Delightfully_Bitchy They're all corrupt, haven't you figured that out yet??
"Every little bureaucratic Bonaparte in Brussels" - That's a good one 😂
Especially because Hacker when he finds out he's PM, puts his hand inside his jacket in the classic Bonaparte gesture.
Boris Johnson used the same material decades later.
" Honesty always gives you the advantage of surprise in the House of Commons." Are we sure this isn't a documentary?
LMFAO
It could be….
PM Thatcher saw this series similarly, as uncommonly accurate. It was a favourite of hers.
2:58: "Here I stand". 3:01: sits down.
"There is some difficulty in justifiably assigning to it the fourth of the epithets you applied to the statement" - GENIUS!!! 😂😂
Again with the British sausage!!I just love the way Jim Hacker occasionally takes on Winston Churchill's voice(and totally sticks it to Humphrey!)RIP Paul Eddington, loved you in "Yes Prime & Minister" and "The Good Life'.
I'm pretty sure I heard the 'sausage' speech at least twice this year and every year ever since 1979. Timeless.
"Honesty always gives you the advantage of surprise in the House of Commons" Boris Johnson should've watched this scene beforehand
I never get over this tv series,it's a gift that keeps giving 😂🙏
Absolutely, Boz, spot on.
Paul E was comic gold in this series, after being soft and forgettable in The Good Life. Brilliant writing. Brilliant cast.
i love how he slips into Churchill speak
Well if you were married to Margo😏
When I watched it 40 years ago I didn't realise just how good Paul Eddington was in this . Watching it in modern times I appreciate he was brilliant
Long live James George Hacker, the saviour of the British Sausage
Paul Eddington was a class apart. What an actor.
A sub above.
He was brilliant in the good life as well.
Could watch a thousand times….never gets old…..
Docudrama, who knew ? 😆 🤣
1:23 Europe
2:03 British sausage Martin Luther
4:40 kiss hands
6:59 honest vs politics
9:01 verbosity
9:32 lied
Brilliant comedy, acting and writing......they really should make more shows like this....we need to be able to laugh at out politician!
We do….
BEST BRITISH COMEDY SERIES BY A COUNTY MILE . REMEMBERED WITH GREAT FONDEST MEMORIES.
On a par with Fawlty Towers. So equally’ the best’.
Keep adding the Minister to your downloads. Look at the views they get !
"I know this is a difficult concept to get across to a politician." Hahaha.
For my money one of the best lines delivered was said at 5:35 in this video and the response was perfect.
Shame the clip moved away. He switches to an admiral pose with that "noble" face just perfectly
Masterpiece!
There has never been a Sitcom more perfèçtly cast than Yes Miñister
Timely upload.
Anyway, always great fun to watch.
Hacker and Appleby always jabber and stutter in exactly the same way when they are caught in a lie or have committed a faux pas of some sort. Great acting technique for maximum comedy effect.
Prophecy of brexit
Isnt Rishi and Truss the name of sausages.🤥🤥🤣🤣🤣
Interesting that Lynn and Jay did not imagine Brexit...
No matter how often I watch YM or YPM, I laugh. Best show ever on British TV. No political correctness, just intelligent humour
On the contrary this is probably the most politically correct show ever put on British television
@@justin.booth. In a sense you're both correct. It is important to distinguish between modern and traditional meanings of politically correct.
Traditional PC is negatively geared - i.e., it involves omitting language and topics people may find offensive. YM is certainly very PC in this sense.
Modern PC is positively geared - i.e., it involves actively including language and topics designed to pander to people. YM is not PC in this sense.
@@lachyt5247 I think they meant "politically correct" as in correct about what happens in politics.
Jim Hacker for PM!
Reminds me of Rishi Sunak.
Aged like wine
when Jim becomes prime minister he does the Napoleon guesture at minute 5:41
One of Rees Mogg's better speeches.
Everyone played their part then company new they had a WINNER
3 Hilarious Jim Hacker Scenes | Yes, Minister | Yes, Prime Minister | BBC Comedy Greats 2109pm 4.9.22 westminster sauces suggest the sausage could be another banana skin? i bet he spent all day concocting these retorts to prove to some bint he was "in charge".
T. Ty. T. T
This speech sounds differently after brexit...
Please stop with real politic enjoy the show for what it stands for brilliant comedy with fantastic writing and actors all of them. There are other platforms for this.
The best comedy lies in reality. YM & YPM were inspired by information from moles inside parliament and the civil service. It is funny, yes, but also educational as to how politics really works. Thatcher was said to be a big fan and made sure to tape every episode so she wouldn't miss one.
Jacinda Adern, the New Zealand Prime Minister is one of the few world leaders I have any degree of respect for!Do the research peeps, your leaders are lying to you.
She is hopeless.
God this was comedy back then….. it’s Tory policy in 2022😡😡😡😡
It's been the policy of both parties for a lot longer than that.
Why did they bug Hugh Halifax's phone?
Why not Guy Montréal's?
Martin Luther had a lot of other words, some of them rabidly antisemitic.
He did? Based
maybe he was very anti-colonialist
