Gorgeous! Elegant! I wish the skating world would embrace the artistry of skating again vs the ability to make quad jumps. This program is so much more enjoyable to experience.
Very nice skating, choreography, music and filming 🎶 But surprised to see so many empty seats at a skating festival in Boston, which loves skating, hockey, and athletics in general. High ticket prices? Not enough publicity? 🤔
The audience was all behind me, on the long side that I never fully faced for this performance; it was staged more as a one-sided festival. Ticket prices I think were very cheap, but this was the first time this festival has been held at Skating Club of Boston and I think all skating events can never have enough publicity. That's why I share as much as I can, in the hopes that whenever people *do* hear about a local skating event, they decide to go!
"Slowly and Expressively" (the title of the music) is a perfect description of how this was skated! 6 minutes is a long performance so I guess you would need to pace yourself!
I find the choreo a bit monotone, like same pace through out. For this kind of skating (slow music, lots of beautiful extensions) I feel When Atoms Embrace is a more interesting piece, the movements there are slow, but the effective use of head and hands make it look more dramatic.
