    homemade foam/bubble machine
    Some points I forgot to go over in the video:
    Total cost was around $300 I think the most expensive component by far being the blower. The only place I see the blower now is on amazon (Q standard 16" 1 hp utility blower) but it is significantly cheaper than I got it for. I think this blower is the best deal and shape for the this project with the power you get. I think you need the 1 hp. I wonder if 3/4 hp or so would work but I don't think I would risk it.
    The fabric is very important. The setup that I based my design off of used landscape fabric but apparently they are not all created equal becasue mine didn't work. My fabric was an old blanket and it is not a very fine weave so you will probably have to experiment to find something that works. If water is pouring out the bottom of the fabric and hardly any bubbles that means your fabric's weave is too tight.
    You may want to experiment with different types and concentrations of soap. I have used a lot of soaps but never done and actual test to see which ones work best or at what concentration.
    Finally this is super fun, for kids and adults, who doesn't love a mountain of bubbles. Putting a plastic sheet or slipnslide going into it is fun. The 30 gallon barrel will last for about 15 minutes and probably fill a 15x15x10 ft area in one run if the bubbles are undisturbed. The 1/3 hp pump may be overkill, maybe 1/5 hp or less even would work but I just don't know. And put all the soap you want into the grass, you're not going to hurt it.

    Cool project bud, just a few suggestions, extend the fan housing with metal or plastic, make a short sock at the end to direct the stream forwards not spewing out the sides, different nozzles to make a finer spray, some way to vary the flow of the solution so the bubbles are not so saturated.
    Thanks for the ideas and the motivation, I have been searching this for a while but your vid got me motivated.
    All you haters out there need to take your little Hating keyboard fingers and see if you can actually build anything with them instead of insults and name calling, give this guy a break , you know everything build it, show it, insults are meaningless and childness, challenges are respected and admired especially when you win.
    Bring it on.

    Owen, to hell with the haters, I gleaned enough info from your great 👍 video to do it myself, no problems, what the hell is wrong with these people?, Owen obviously is not trying to win an award for editing skills or production style. Get a life haters!

    What type of fabric did you use to create your bag?

    • @owentolley3308
      @owentolley3308  6 лет назад +1

      a old blanket, it's worn and thin so you can see that it has holes. You can experiment with fabrics but they must be somewhat loose to let the bubbles pass through and form otherwise they come out very wet and water will run out the bottom

    Theirs a big difference between a foam machine, and a bubble machine. Thanks but no thanks, I'm looking for a plan to make a DIY Foam Pit!

    Que características tiene el motor y los componentes paso a paso de uno que tenga una boquilla. O sea que sea más parecido a un cañón, gracias hermano desde Cuba

      Este motor es de 1 HP y mide 16" en diametro. Hay un señor en Panama que construye unos muy buenos incluso los cañónes (Avalanche Foam Party en Instagram). Los motores que el ocupa son mayormente de 12" y 3/4 HP pero he encontracdo que la fuerza del motor es muy importante y varia demasiado con la marca que compras. Es necesario encontrar motores de mejor calidad. En Panama, son de mara Nimbus, pero me me quisieron vender en EEUU. Me parecen igual a todos los demas que salen de China pero no he investigado lo sufuciente para encontrar otra fuente.

Started with landscape fabric like some people recommend but it was too tight a weave and didn't work.

    • @owentolley3308

      I think it was 1-2%. Just dish soap. I'm kind of trying to figure out something better as well as a better machine. I will probably post something in the future if I ever finish that project.

    So now what do you do with foam flying around the yard? Please, if you are going to do a video, think about it, write a script if you have to, organize your camera, your steps etc. Where is the DIY in this. You just hooked up a bunch of vague purchased parts.

    • @Therax812
      @Therax812 6 лет назад

      Vague purchased parts? It's PVC and hose adapters. Any person with half a brain can tell how to put all that together.

      Sheesh,...Think about it...PVC.....or other stuff in this obviously DIY, video where would it be? Hmmmm, maybe try, Lowe's, City Mill, Home Depot, Samons, Harbor Freight, etc. Looks pretty basic and easy to me, but some people gotta hate it they are truly ignorant.
