This is Part One of a teaser for the documentary film "Pola Negri: Life is a Dream in Cinema" (2006), directed by Mariusz Kotowski. Features clips from the Pola Negri films "Shadows of Paris" (1924), "Barbed Wire" (1927), "Passion" aka "Madame DuBarry" (1919), "The Spanish Dancer" (1923), and from the Rudolph Valentino film "Son of the Sheik" (1926).
Interviews are with Jeanine Basinger, A.C. Lyles (producer, Paramount Pictures), Alfred Allan Lewis (Ghostwriter of Pola's autobiography "Memoirs of a Star"), and Emily Leider (author of Rudolph Valentino autobiography "Dark Lover").
She was born in Lipno. They are making a statue of here in a center of the town. A local artist (also from Lipno) Zdzisław Ostrowski will carv a full size wood statue of Pola as a temple, than another guy for Southern Poland will copy that and create a bronze or brass casting.
Fascinating.
2:50 Jeanine Basinger, historian, goofs bigtime. When "The Sheik" starring Valentino premiered in 1921, Pola wasn't/couldn't be with him as she hadn't yet immigrated to America, which she would in 1923. She couldn't be talking about Pola on the arm of Valentino at "Son of the Sheik" as that film was released after Valentino died. Lastly, Grauman's Chinese Theater was completed in 1927, it didn't exist in 1921.
She was born in Lipno, Poland and who is this blond who doesn't know where Pola Negri was born and is in this presentation?
Stop being a bitch
She was born in Lipno, not Janowa
Blodynka to pomylilo sie dziewczynie.
Thanks for upload. ;) I thought that it was Son of the Sheik and Valentino took Vilma Banky to the premiere. I guess i'm wrong on that.
wire good movie.
Love the teaser, I did find some inaccuracies with dates, and who was with who and when. Hoping the inaccuracies will be corrected.
I've checked it it's Chopin, Prelude op 28 number 4, it's EXTREMALLY similiar to Moonlight Sonata
Hey can you please say what is the melody/song used at the beginning of this movie??? It's Chopin right? what's the title?
I thought she was born in Lipno.
@myan84 Beethoven "Moonlight sonata".

@juanitat10 You could care less? Then why don't you do it? How can you state the truth? You were not even born that time.
