Quickly tested this one. It holds against varying loads. It also seems to be more secure than the Rolling hitch v2 (the one recommended to be tied around objects) and it can hold parallel tension as well. A nice upgrade of the Clover hitch for such a simple addition. Of course, it tightens pretty good and takes longer to untie. It could also easily be mistaken for the Double Constrictor knot. To conclude, it’s a really good knot, I would use this quite often.

Why do I not see anybody taking the tail end around the anchor one more time to lock it with half hitch? I’ve used that method for decades without fail. I don’t mean a half hitch onto the line itself like what I’ve seen all others demonstrate, I mean a half hitch on the anchoring post.
