great Work love the Dichotomy between the Hard Rock on the intro and the Soft Songs from the 70s up in here... Solid Work you must have grown up with 70s Boston Radio... from the flow of it.
This is one of my favourite songs to play...I never had a Kapo so I taught myself to play in E major..years ago lol, but now after seeing this I'm gonna get one and do this..your tips are way cool and enjoy watching your techniques..cheers!🎶
I love your approach here, just tell us the chords and play it through. Any chords I don’t know, I can look them up. Too often YT instructors spend so much time telling you how to play basic chords. I like this straight forward way.
A great lesson. I've been trying to learn this beautiful song for a long time and thanks to you Dave, now I can do it. The chords sound perfect. Google translator helped me with the language. I send you a big hug from Argentina.
Very nice version for guitar with "guitar" chords and not the "Piano" chords that it was originally written in. Thanks. Gonna add this to the set, been wanting to for a while. Great work. Got a new subscriber, the least I can do. Peace.
AWSOME bro, great song & great playing! I'm a Big fan of Major & minor 7th chords just because how they sound. You 've done a superb job of teaching & playing this, rock on my friend & God Bless.
Dave you are an excellent guitar player I wonder if you would be kind enough show me how to play pandanus its by the peter moon band?? You can find it on the canefire Cd my name is Robbie I would greatly appreciated thank you
Te felicito amigo, enseñas muy bien guitarra., sobre todo las armonías de las canciones.,tu trabajo es muy bueno. Tienes un nuevo suscriptor. Saludos de Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. México.
Thanks Dave. I'd never think of playing that song but now I'll learn it. Like your Troubadour shirt! My sister used to be friends with Doug Weston years ago, when it was called Doug Weston's Troubadour (if my spelling is correct). That's way way back in the day, mid seventies I think.
I haven't been to los angels in a long time. Funny, I had this song running in my head the other day. Hope you are doing okay in the pandemic time. We live on a ranch so we've been isolated for years! But we have to weAr masks everywhere in Steamboat. Gonna re-learn this one later today.
Ab Fab Dave!! Top breakdown & channel. Love the no tab format - could you maybe include chord code though (eg Dm: XX0231) as sometimes it's difficult to make out your fingers!!! Any chance of an ear-training tutorial/course to compliment the theory vids??? Came here via your breakdown of The Logical Song - another class choice excellently explained! SUBSCRIBED. Nice looking Tees, too; essential summer-wear...GREAT channel. Cheers!
Check out this guy’s video. He plays the C-shape on the 3rd fret. He plays an FMaj7 with G in the bass, I’m assuming he is muting the A string ruclips.net/video/-rcFgNWjmhU/видео.html
He does now but if you listen to him play this in open D, he cheats chords and it doesn't sound like the record. My point is to teach you how to play the song, not to teach you how Barry lazily gets through it now.
Thank you Mister .. your a verry good And awesome TEACHER

Good one, Dave! I play it with the capo on the 3rd fret and love to hit that A# on the 6th string on the money chord.
AWSOME bro, great song & great playing! I'm a Big fan of Major & minor 7th chords just because how they sound. You 've done a superb job of teaching & playing this, rock on my friend & God Bless.
You must have a heck of a singer.
Thanks a lot.
As always nice job😎
muy bueno no entiendo el ingles pero el idioma de la musica si me suscribi gracias!!!!
Dave you are an excellent guitar player I wonder if you would be kind enough show me how to play pandanus its by the peter moon band?? You can find it on the canefire Cd my name is Robbie I would greatly appreciated thank you
Good lesson (esp likd C6b5) . Also. outro music v beautiful what is it ?
Outro music is me. It's the intro to a song I wrote with my old band The Big Angry. The song is called Denied.
@@DavesGuitarChannel I had a hunch that it was your own - you're a fine musician that's for sure !

It still says Doug Weston on the sign.

Nice. Can your singer hit all those hi’s? Impressive.

A BG's song. Not the easiest songs. Sounds simple but it's a BG's song and not so simple.
Thanks for posting, one of the best lessons i have viewed for this song. TABs for the C6 b5?
First finger 2nd string 1st fret, middle finger 3rd string 2nd fret, pinky 4th string 4th fret, ring finger 5th string 3rd fret. Play 5 to 1
@@DavesGuitarChannel Thanks
hi Dave is there a place where i can print out the chords with the lyrics for this???
thank you
The Bb11, I've also seen it played as an AbMaj7 over Bb, is that the same chord?
Abmaj7/Bb is a Bb13. There is an added G# which is the 13. I didn't hear a 13 so I kept it as the 11.
Check out this guy’s video. He plays the C-shape on the 3rd fret. He plays an FMaj7 with G in the bass, I’m assuming he is muting the A string
ruclips.net/video/-rcFgNWjmhU/видео.html
btw, love your channel! RUclips’s algorithm suggested me to watch one of yours last week. I’m glad it did :-)
You’re correct. I’ve seen a lot of triads like F/G. That’s definitely common as 11th chords. I think that’s why the Maj7 shape confused me.
Lovely chords in it, fair play to ya Davey. From Ireland
Welcome
Another great vid, lovely round sound from the Epiphone . What model is this ? Sounds very Martinie and I'd like to buy one thanks
Epiphone Masterbilt EF 500R
Great lesson.!!
Show me please, chords disco heat of silvester.
i think barry gibb plays everything in open d
He does now but if you listen to him play this in open D, he cheats chords and it doesn't sound like the record. My point is to teach you how to play the song, not to teach you how Barry lazily gets through it now.
◼️
Want to get good at changing chords? Look no further than a BG's song.
inpaindaily
capo only complicates
Great guitar playing. Please don't sing, though...
Yeah Dave's Vocal Channel can't get one sub.
