I want to commend all the skilled hair care stylists who have mastered this art. You are doing a great deal for the self-esteem of black men and women.

Someone prob already said this earlier in the comments, but you save time by using the hair that is already coiled in lock form, you manually created them which is 100times more time consuming, but of course it gives you depth of experience for the stylist that wishes to broaden their skillset, so hats off to you for all your labor!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The way I normally cut down the time for doing my faux locs is I use a looser textured hair and do more of a butterfly loc then the style you did in the video. Using a looser hair texture makes you wrap faster because you don't have to wrap so tight and uniform. You did a great job tho, I love them!
Girl I did my own and it took me TWO DAYS to finish them😩😩😩😩. I understand!!
LOL I did mine and it took me 10 days and then some because they puffed up... I'm a guy and that was not working for me, and then I had the nerve to add some color... I only did like 6 inches on top and 3-4 on the sides and back... January will be 4 years, it's down my back... I can tell the difference in the hair but I don't care... That was a lot of work and I love the way it hangs

Just gorgeous work. I’ve done it to my own hair. Try braiding her own hair at the root only and twist the rest it will cut at lest two hours. Of course you can always do the crochet.

It only took my stylist 4 n half hour's , exact same method and my hair is beautiful just got mines done yesterday

I just got these done in Africa & it only took about an hour & a half, what they do here is pull your natural braid into the lock with the crochet hook
I love how these stylist just learn from each other even though this technique is used all the time for box braids and other styles

Hi Tina, thank you!!!😍😍😍 just an update tip, use a little of the marley hair to braid your natural hair first. I think it helps the loc to hold even better when its time to twist 😊
Is 6 to 7 hours supposed to be a long time? My hair always takes that long
It definitely was for me at that time, but now I've gotten somewhat used to it
Yeah that is kind of long. When I usually go to my regular braider it takes 3hrs the most for a full head of medium box braids and twist are usually 2hrs depending on the size. But this style does take a longer time because it’s tedious.
I offer this hairstyle to my clients. It is an all day process😫
It really is an all day thing. I give kudos to those who can do it in 3-4 hours. We'll get there 😊

I used to do these on myself and clients back in 1995 and we called them Silky Locs . It used to take me 20 hours. I used to braid the hair with extensions then leave out a 4th piece to wrap around , I wore mine for like a year and did them for models in fashion shows every one loved them on me. About to turn my box braids into these right now and upload a video to my channel when I’m done. My real hair never locked in with the hair. All my hair did was grew long and the older they got they looked so natural

I do this myself and it always turns out great in about 4-5hours. I croquet it individuallly in the back and the top half I do your method!
I've done mine as well but I used Bobbi Boss Nu Locs. What kind of hair do you like to use?
@@NiqueLynn Always use te marley brand. They are pre-done locs. I crochet those at the back of my hair. Then I box braid the front. My clients also like the Marley brand.

Agree with everything you said. I love the look but hate the time it takes to do them. People that appreciate the art wont mind the cost cause I'm not doing them for less than $300 lol I'll do the crochet ones and individual around the perimeter to save time

I love the style, I would want this to put my locs in a protective style for some months. It very hard to find people that can do this especially on locs. I moved outside of Jacksonville Florida, and I tell you the it is so frustrating to find someone to do these types of styles, you have a love hate with them...but you do beautiful work. I did this hair style on myself once it turned out really good to be my first time but it took me 2 days to complete it. and the style lasted for a month in a half. i recommend this style but i agree with you completely you have to have TIME.

ONLY 2 days, it took me 2 WEEKS!!! I kept stopping, I think I got carpal tunnel lol
When using the super glue; I use two small strands with a double not the add a drop a pin size to hold. You can use boiling water after using the small knot to hold in place! Wonderful job❤🌞🤗

You make it look easy. It doesn't seem like it should take very long, but I know that it does. Wouldn't using pre-wrapped and pre-looped hair cut your time by half?

Mimi Robinson I add the freetress deep twist hair in with their hair because I feel like it lasts longer and a bit quicker than adding in both, then wrap with the Cuban twist Marley hair

Thanks sista. Girl I tried it on myself and EPIC FAILURE! I could not for the life of me, wrap the hair. So I had to turn around and take out all the braids that I just put in. 😥 Waste of time and money. So this is just a style I would just pay for someone to do on me.
It took me 4 hours to part and had to make it into two days when it came to wrapping, and they're all sticking together
Very pretty. I normally only do individual braids on the front crown and crochet each individually; then cornrow the back of my hair and crochet across the cornrows. That will definitely decrease the time. Freetress has the faux laux crochet braid hair with the pre-loop that can be used on the back of the hair.
I may have to give that a try!
The hairstyle looks 👍. But I think your client needs to stop relaxing her hair for a while it looks just like my when I was relaxing so thin and damaged. Her hair will recover in 3 years perhaps.

I recommend using gypsy locs by freetress and wrap by hand at the root less than 3 and a half hours....

You can get the already made faux braids and pull her braid through with the crochet needle! I saw a RUclipsr do it! It was fast! And it looked exactly the same!

I'm a natural hair stylist and my only issue with doing this hairstyle is that some of my clients have said they are unraveling and I wish there was a way I could help avoid this!!! Oh and the freetress hair tangles quickly... Plz help?
I actually ran into the same exact issue. I noticed what helped me is that I have to braid my client's natural hair with some of the cuban twist hair. That has seemed to help with the unraveling. I did a video on this process as well ruclips.net/video/GnAZjSJHeCM/видео.html

Girlfriend let me tell you hunnyyyy it is a job lol. I would do one thing differently next time and that is add some of the cuban twist to the client's natural hair.

I have the same hair color! It took me two days to do them but I do love them and I will be keeping them in until the end of August. Yes mine are unraveling. I think mine are thinner as well.
