We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo or monotype Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only a Pokemon character's best team as a theme team nuzlocke? Today we find out: can Erika's Best Team Beat a hardcore nuzlocke of Pokemon Black 2!?

Character Best Team Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only one encounter per badge obtained.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

Didn't Erica play Vileplume more than Venusaur? So shouldn't the alternate be Venusaur and Liligant?
Silph, big fan of your channel. Would LOVE to see you attempt a loser lock like flygonhg has done. He banned anything with a bst >400 going through pokemon emerald. I really wanna see if any nuzlocker could pull this off in the gen 45 games. Maybe make the max like 425 instead since the games are so hard but u get the idea

Confronting the Volcarona with a mono-grass team, like "Call an ambulance!.. but, not for me!" where instead of a gun, you pull out a Lileep

Challenge Idea: You can only use the Pokemon that you can catch inbetween Gyms. So for each Gym you need to have a completly new team

I'd like to see you tackle a game with Falkner's best team. Mainly because I know he's got a Lugia and you hardly ever get to use legendaries so it might be fun.
I wanna see one with Byron's team. He always gets ragged on about being the weakest Sinnoh gym leader so he needs some redemption.

Always a good day when my favorite type sees some appreciation! Erika has a surprisingly meta grass monotype team too; Cradilly, Whimsicott, Venusaur, and even Roserade and Tangrowth are all staples or serious contenders for competitive monotype teams.
What makes silph my uncontested favorite poketuber is his quick jokes and sense of humor.

Also another thought> maybe an Omega ruby or Alpha Sapphire with a Nuzlocke team like your best team series, but you can only use gym leader Ace pokemon... so, 1. Nosepass (Probopass) 2. Hariyama 3. Manetric 4. Torkoal 5. Slaking 6. Altaria 7. Solrock/Lunatone and... 8. Milotic

Tbf, Brycen is established to BE a former actor returned to the art in BW2 when you visit his town. Apparently he suffered a severe injury during his career, leaving him to eventually take up the Gym mantle untile the OG BW. He seems pretty happy with reborn passion in film

Oh, one of the first nuzlockes on the channel was Grass types on Black 2. Sort of a rerun.

You should do cheren's team in any Pokémon game!! Maybe his black and white team and some add on from his gym team from black and white 2! I feel like he's a stratigizing gym leader so playing as him I feel would be fun
As someone who grows lilies and has a garden, seeing liligant appear was a treat ❤
If you connect a save from black 2 or white 2 to black or white, you find out that Brycen actually quit being a gym leader to go back to being an actor

Did anyone noticed that at the start of the video the gym badges are from black and white instead of black and white 2? its not important but when the weaknesses were showed i started to think about the match ups and noticed this small mistake.

Y'know, before you started these Gym Leader challenges, the monotype Hardcores were getting a little stale. But these Gymlockes (please, feel free to steal that) add an interesting twist to things, I look forward to seeing more. Maybe give a Sabrina team a run sometime, Psychic's always been my personal favorite Type.
