Yes, its the hybrid. They only bought about 10 of them, so I was surprised that he cought two in action.
BTW, these were bought before the days of the Ford Fusion Hybrid- you can expect that now they will buy their American made model.
American emergency cars, trucks with their lights and sirens are the coolest.
Indeed
All US light bars now require the low profile LED lights with red/blue and sometimes white alternating. The red/white/blue is particularly used in NYS. There were major issues with police officers being killed in the line of duty because their lights weren't seen. They even use a light bar in the rear windshield now in addition to the roof bar. The LED lights in red/blue are significantly brighter and more saturated than the ones of old.
In America, the cargo version is German only in design in this second generation. It is produced in South Carolina, and supports Dodge (now separate from MB, which is important) and the American economy.

is it just me or did anyone see how frustrating it must be for LE to get around in a city the size and population of NYC. They must go through brakes on those vehicles 10x more than LE in a less populated area. Wow, impressive. @SecularTechnology I see, I didn't realise they did it to reduce annoyance... and I'm not complaining about your sirens, they are awesome. I love powercalls, Qs, eq2bs, the rumbler siren and of course the sirens that replace our old hi-lo sirens.
No. The SWAT truck is a solid black truck with armor covering the outside.
@bloodbath08 They purchased a small amount of hybrids to test their durability. I doubt we'll see any more beyond the test phase.

In fire trucks, i prefer london and germany
@BLUDREDSOCKS No. That's just a van. The command center is huge & very long. It's the size of a motor home.

When did the NYPD start using linears/LEDs instead of the rotating lights? Also, are you not supposed to stop or something? It seems like nobody stopped, only slowed down or turned into a different lane. I'm obviously not from New York, but I would love to visit.

What are you talking about? In the American market, they are American produced. It also may be a Freightliner Sprinter. These are far more efficient (though more expensive to purchase) than their E-Series or Express counterparts. Why in the world would you call that sad?!
One things for sure , with as much traffic as NYC has it would be pretty hard to get a speeding ticket.

@BlixtenMcquin Good question, emergency vehicle lighting in the US is incredibly inconsistent and they use bad colours! Red is also (scientifically) the worst colour to use, in daylight and at night. If you see a flash of red light in the corner of your eye, it could be a traffic light, school bus, car indicaters, anything. If you see a blue flash, you KNOW it's an emergency vehicle!
IF the crown victoria's in NYC (police and taxis) are replaced then NYC won't be the same anymore

Also im woundering that there are blue lights on the back of the marked NYPD cars now.

At 6:16, did they really expect people to see that unmarked car & pull over? If they did, then those cops would have needed to put more lights on their car! The only lights I saw were a small row right on the dash board.

The reason the don'y use blue SPECIFICALLY in NYC, is because the dense housing would find it an annoyance to see blue, where as red mimics tail lights, or brake lights.
Most of the time in the US we use blue/red, and even blue/red whie yellow.

@iamlegend1109 responding to a possible threat? Homeland Security is all over NYC in unmarked vehicles at all times. They also do the odd drill now and then and treat it as if it were the real thing so police, homeland, fire, etc will all respond lights and sirens as if it were a real incident.
why do some of the cops turn there lights and sirens on to turn or something but then turn them off?
