  • Our weekly interviews with stroke survivors are designed to provide insight into how our community of stroke survivors are coping with the pandemic.
In this episode, Sheelagh meets with Niki who survived an Ischemic stroke in 2016 aged 52. Niki talks about a family link, diabetes, anxiety and how she tries to combat these through diet and stress management. Sheelagh who is a stroke survivor who works for Different Strokes talks about the 'brick wall' caused by fatigue and they both discuss how frustrating fatigue can be.
Niki has worked from home throughout lockdown but like many of us has struggled with the isolation. Unknowingly Niki contracted Covid-19 in March and only recently realised what felt like the flu was, in fact, the virus.
