  • My 4th day in and around Warsaw, Poland. We started the day with l a delicious bike rode through the forest. Saw the 1987 Lot plane crash monument and the Botanical gardens. In the afternoon we visited wilanów. The stunning palace and the fun new neighbourhood. What a life!
I was invited to come here and stay and explore the rest of the week. It's so special when one of my RUclips subscribers hosts me and shows me around. This week in Warsaw will be very special and filled with A LOT of beautiful places and moments in and around the capital of Poland. Please come with us 🇵🇱🥰

That is the most beautiful Palace I have ever seen the outside of. I don't know whether I would care about the inside. I was just in love with the gardens. The flowers are so pretty. I like the botanical gardens but yes these ones were prettier. And I like the ducks and yes I am behind. I will catch up eventually. I jumped ahead a little bit but now I am back.
I have been watching Chernobyl. This is a good antidote. Also I'm trying to fix my RUclips algorithm. It is very hot in Florida. In Pinellas county where St Pete is. The wind is blowing from the wrong direction and we aren't getting the usual rain. So it is in the '90s all day. And then on top of it it is humid. My ducks are growing and I don't want to go outside. But they are so beautiful and I think they will be totally beautiful when they are grown. My roommate keeps telling me about pretty soon it will be time to get rid of them. To sell them. But I want to see what they will turn out to be. Except for the brown one. I've had so many brown ones in black ones and now I have gray ones they are called blue and white ones and I want to see what they will look like. But I think all of them are boys. And you can't have lots of boy ducks together. It's not good for the girl ducks. Unless you have no girls at all and just boys. But I don't like that because I do like ducklings. I have to take more video of them but I haven't been outside except yesterday in a couple of days. Oh yeah I was sick. And it's really hot. But it could be worse. It's worse in Orlando. It's always worse. I don't know why people go there. I mean in the summer.
    Thank you for the flowers

Nynke, your beautiful video of today reminded me how blessed I am to live within a walking distance from the Palace of Wilanów and from Saint Anne's church. And as always, you caught the vibe of the place spot on by showing people in love (7:59), people getting married (10:00) and a family with children (10:30). Because if I were to describe the vibe of this extraordinary place in one word, then the word 'love' would be the first one to come to my mind.
    Why is that?
It is because the Palace of Wilanów used to be the residence of Queen 'Marysieńka' - real name Marie Casimira de La Grange d’Arquien (1641 - 1716) - a member of an old French aristocratic family d'Arquien from Nevers, between 1665 and 1696 wife of King Jan III Sobieski, the famous conqueror of the Turkish army of vizier Kara Mustafa in the Battle of Vienna that took place on 12th September 1683. And the marriage between Queen Marysieńka and King Jan III Sobieski was the marriage of love and not of aristocratic arrangements, quite a rarity in those times. The royal couple had 13 (yes, thirteen!) children in total, but only four of them survived till adulthood.
You may wonder why I am referring to the Queen using a diminutive form of her first name (or diminutive of diminutive, to be precise: Marie (or Maria in Polish) -> Marysia -> Marysieńka; our unique Polish language is one of the very few languages that can be so playful with diminutives). And perhaps you may be guessing that King Jan III Sobieski, so in love with his beautiful wife, called her this way. That is only partly true; yes, King Jan used to call his wife 'Marysieńka', but he was not the first one to do so. Marie Casimira arrived in Poland in 1645 when she was only 4 years old, in the retinue of another great aristocrat, Marie Louise Gonzaga de Nevers, Queen of Poland and Grand Duchess of Lithuania by marriage to two kings of Poland and grand dukes of Lithuania, brothers Władysław IV Waza and Jan II Kazimierz (John II Casimir). Marie Casimira was a wonderful child, of a cheerful and serene disposition, and also very talented, because she learned to speak Polish very quickly. Everyone in the court of Queen Marie Louise Gonzaga loved her, this love also spread very quickly to the regular Poles and the loving memory of her survived among the ordinary people like yours truly to date.
You may also wonder what happened to Queen Marysieńka after the death of King Jan III Sobieski. She left Poland in 1699 for Rome where she stayed till 1714. She then arrived in France, but King Louis XIV forbade her to enter Paris and Versailles. She died in 1716 in Blois (France); the coffin with her body was transported in 1717 to Warsaw and buried alongside the coffin of her husband in one of the Warsaw churches. How exactly this came to pass and who was responsible for it is shrouded in mystery. Historical accounts say that the coffin was dropped off in front of the Capuchin Church in Warsaw, someone knocked on the door and after opening them the porter noticed the coffin, but the man who knocked was gone. After the arrival of the bishop it was decided to open the coffin. Therein lay the body of an elderly woman wearing a crown and a sceptre and having a medallion in her mouth which indicated that she was indeed Queen Marie Casimira Sobieska.
In January 1734 the coffins of King Jan and Queen Marysieńka were transported to Kraków and solemnly buried in Saint Leonard's Crypt of the Wawel Cathedral, where they remain to date.
To me and to many Poles, this is one of the most extraordinary love stories of all time. I hope you liked it. If you did, then here is the idea: why not visit King Jan and Queen Marysieńka in the Wawel Cathedral once you are back in Kraków? Perhaps through the intercession of the royal couple, you too will find happiness in love? 😉 Uściski Ninko. 🍀🥰🤗

If I could recommend something, and forgive me if you already have been there because I did not see all your films. Mea culpa. :). Go to Wroclaw market and Moszna Castle in the district of Opolskie. The second one is much more crazy than the one you see on the beginning of the Disney's productions. It is also worth to visit the undergrounds of Wieliczka salt mine, one of the oldest mines in Europe and the world. Graduation towers in Ciechocinek are the biggest in the world (Guinness record), Malbork castle is the biggest brick castle in the world.
