The castle was built by Colla of the MacDonnell clan, the clan who also built many other castles and buildings in the area. This was the time when the MacDonnell's were the most powerful clan along the Antrim Coast. It was completed in about 1547 but was destroyed in fighting with the English only eight years later. Colla himself died in the castle or the vicinity in 1558 and is believed to be buried in the Bonamargy Friary, not too far away. There is a story that a group of English soldiers were trapped during a siege of the castle. Fires were lit by the besieged to call for help and locals responded and arrived armed surrounding the besieging soldiers who were massacred in the area in or near a hollow cave under the castle called the “Hollow of the English”. The castle was rebuilt and remained inhabited until the 1700's. It was then abandoned and fell into decay. The only thing that stands today is the ruins of a small tower and few remnants of the wall.

This footage was done with my DJI Mavic Air back in the summer last year the drone disconnected a few times when I was filming Dont know why to this day because there should have been no interference in that area it is wide open with no cell towers that’s one off the main reasons I sold it because of intermittent Wi-Fi signal back to the controller 👍👍🇬🇧
I found Kinbane by accident on an absolutely miserable day but my son and I were the only ones there. Wish I'd have had my drone with me that trip. Great video, great angles and love the flying work.

You have such a beautiful landscape and scenery to be able to photograph I'm jealous. Having only traveled the Southern part of Ireland I would love to one day come back but to see the Nothern part and some of the beautiful areas you have featured in your video. BTW, have you ever put some of your stock footage for sale up on these stock websites, if you haven't, I think you're missing an outstanding opportunity? Im a history of castles freak. That is very interesting. Its not faring to well with the elements its a shame. Things like this is history and when gone its gone. That was great flying and footage. You edited this video very well. Awesome

What dramatic scenery, and the choice of audio just adds well to it. Your flight choices were spot on and very fluid. Yet another well done flight, specially love the downward view into the structure @ 1:24 and the water shot @ 1:48 was awesome, I’m still nervous as heck flying over water lol. Mind if I ask a few questions?inquiry#1 what are your flight and control settings at? And inquiry#2 was there any post work or this raw footage? And if post work what tools do you use for such?
RaptorMan M2Z hi thankyou for great comments and feedback very nice of you This footage was with my Mavic Air that I had it is shot in 1080p 25 FPS and filter nd 32 it was a very sunny day manual setting very little colour correction as I am editing on my iMac with iMovie I get very nervous flying over water too all that money waiting to fall in to the water just make sure when you fly over water that have a pre flight list check to go over and nobody to distract you glad you liked it cheers 👍👍🇬🇧

I keep losing image transmission too! It’s a good starter drone, hopefully I’ll upgrade to a Mavic one day 👍🏻.
