Your video was a whole vibe. Last year I kept it really simple and just had a rotisserie chicken 😂😂😂 Doing a turkey this year but it's going to be mellow and just me and my kids
@@DanielleLaShawn absolutely. I used to do that whole committing to a full day with friends and getting dressed up thing. I also took a mini vacation from work and I'ma off next Wednesday through the weekend with pay.
I also had the most basic thanksgiving ever. It was so nice. I baked pies and made Mac and cheese and everyone else did their dish with my mom making a turkey. Even my entire family who usually dresses up and everything didn’t care at all and wore sweaters and sweat pants and I felt so comfortable for the first time in ages. So happy
Girl you put your foot in it!! Food looks absolutely amazing!! Those yams 🍠 yesssss. Sending you and your family love and blessings - from Los Angeles, California
Really enjoying your cooking video's...I've only made a turkey once and I left the bag of giblets inside..lol..I didn't know that it came with that!!! It was years ago...I am lucky that my husband and kids don't care for turkey so I make crock pot roast for Thanksgiving...I know how to make that it's so easy!! Just lipton soup mix, potatoes, onions and carrots. :) Learning more from your video's...Thanks again!!!
Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, Trader Joe's everything but the leftovers seasoning, creole seasoning. I stirred it into olive oil to make a paste.
For the Mac and cheese, you’re only heating it until it’s bubbling and the cheese is melted. The sweet potatoes take much longer because you’re cooking them from a raw state. I would say they take around 1.5-2 hours if you’re cooking as many as I did.
Looks delicious as always. Our Thanksgiving was basic as well (grilled bbq chicken, mac n chz and roasted veggies) and I was totally fine with it. I gotta see if I can find that cinnamon sugar seasoning, those sweet potatoes looked so good girl.
I learned from a professional cook that it’s better to actually not cover the turkey at all and not put a lot of stuff on top of it and just let it seal and cook in its natural juices.
Looks great. My Thanksgiving was basic as well and I still didn’t eat much of it. I think for Christmas I will make lasagna with garlic bread and call it a day.
Our Thanksgiving this year was basic too but it's always enough! You don't have to go all out every year!
I agree. It was just the easiest stuff I could make and it was bomb. We were all stuffed. Lol

Mellow is the best for Thanksgiving, IMO. I don't like overcomplicating it or overcommiting myself.

Yes! Love that! I hope you enjoy your break. ❤️
Please do another one for 2022! Your videos are relaxing and fun to watch!
Thank you! I'm planning to.
This year I'm gonna make my first Thanksgiving with my family and my future family
Good luck! 😊
Your babies are adorable!! Loved when they wanted to help momma in the kitchen 🥰💞
Thank you! 🥰

Not me taking notes because I’m cooking my first thanksgiving dinner this year 😭 pray for me and my whole family who signed NDAs
Not you making them sign NDAs 😂😂
Enjoy watching you. My Thanksgiving was basic this year as well. No guest just husband and daughters. Christmas will also be simple.
Love you channel.
Same. Just me, my husband and our kids. That was it. And it was lovely.
I know your home was happy after that great looking meal 😍 I love how u cooked this spread 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you!
All your homemade items look perfect! No need to apologize taking a few shortcuts, especially when you have little ones running around.
Thank you!
Omg, that plate looks delicious
I was wondering if you were going to do a Thanksgiving video this year ☺️. I'm doing simple for Christmas.
I'm going simple for Christmas too. I don't care to be in the kitchen all day. Lol
@@DanielleLaShawn I was in the kitchen all night and half of Thanksgiving day. I'm getting too old for that 😂😂.
Loved it I especially loved the simplicity of it
I love potatoes salad!!!!
It's so good!
I enjoyed watching this vlog. The food you made for your family's Thanksgiving dinner looks so delicious, Ms. Danielle.

I was waiting for your Thanksgiving video 😂. I put no pressure on my self as well and was done cooking by 12:30pm.
Lol, it seems like everyone was trying to get in and out of the kitchen this year. I'm here for normalizing that.
I'm about to take a page out of your book this year! thanks for the video.
You’re welcome!
LOOKS DELICIOUS 😋
Thank you! This was one of the best Thanksgiving meals I made and it was so easy. Lol

Danielle, what's the name of all the seasonings u had use for your turkey?
Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, Trader Joe's everything but the leftovers seasoning, creole seasoning. I stirred it into olive oil to make a paste.
@@DanielleLaShawn , Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
Im new here but I love your channel! Your meal came out good
Thank you so much for sticking around!! 💕💕
Everything looks so good hope you had a Happy thanksgiving 🦃🍽
I did, thank you!!
Do you remember the temperature and duration that you cooked the Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes at?
For the Mac and cheese, you’re only heating it until it’s bubbling and the cheese is melted. The sweet potatoes take much longer because you’re cooking them from a raw state. I would say they take around 1.5-2 hours if you’re cooking as many as I did.
I'm coming over your house for dinner!!! Wow
Lol
BTW...Your kids are adorable!!! :)
Thank you!! 😊
I love a regular Thanksgiving meal there's no need to always go all out
I agree. Low-key is sometimes better.
Looks delicious as always. Our Thanksgiving was basic as well (grilled bbq chicken, mac n chz and roasted veggies) and I was totally fine with it. I gotta see if I can find that cinnamon sugar seasoning, those sweet potatoes looked so good girl.
I linked it in the description box. It's really inexpensive and a really good product.
And yes, basic was the theme for this year. Lol I was like whatever.
@@DanielleLaShawn Thank you 😊
You're welcome! 💕
Is your stuffing stove top?
Yep, because only my husband and I eat it so I wasn't about to attempt to make it from scratch. I've actually never made it from scratch before.
Ok, I understand
@@DanielleLaShawn i only use stove top too. I just add a few extra things to it. To make it taste a little bit homemade lol
Good Afternoon Danielle, can i get a plate please?
Lol
@@DanielleLaShawn , u will have to ship my plate to Georgia
You Need a recipe for candy yams
I'm assuming you're saying I need to provide exact measurements. I don't measure. I throw everything in a pan, taste, and adjust.
Great video, how many pounds was that turkey?
Honestly, I have no idea. I didn't even check. 😩😩
People with high blood pressure use salt substitute instead of salt
Nice cook Sis
Thank you!
Brown sugar for candied yams is wayyy better than white sugar
Turkey roasting in a turkey bag
will cut out the basting
Yessssssss😋😋😋😍
😋😋😋
i get nervous when theres people on thanksgiving like in my family i think there is 12 maybe more but more than 10

I'm here for an Italian Christmas. The dishes cook quickly and are delicious but they're also super filling and easy to make.
Basic Thanksgiving and lasagna, salad, green beans and garlic bread every Christmas
