Excellent video with very tight streets. Ìn the old days any bins blocked by cars would not be collected and nobody would think of moving them. Times have certainly changed. Great job moving the bins. Well done 👏
Haha, cheers John, Glad You enjoyed. Yeah time defiantly have changed, woulda been much easier if Steve just went with in the designated times 😂 I know for a fact a few of our drives would just slap a sticker on em' and drive off! this is the main reason this side of the councils is contracted out to Citywide.
Well in any grab lifter, the 80 Ls slip, although on this truck the grabs are stuffed and open slightly when the arm is raised, then close fully as it’s lowered, hence why u can see Sulo 120Ls slipping in this truck, which U wouldn’t normally see on another truck, the newer style Gen6 grab hose better on the 80Ls and they slip less. The hook style( comb lifter) lifter was faded out decades ago here, and is very rare to still be used. Thanks for the comment
Nice one mate, I guess City Wide wanted to keep the costs as low as possible by buying as little trucks as possible but some 18m3 for tight places like these would make it a lot easier for drivers. Also the verbal reverse warning seems a little excessive but pretty cool.
well originally they had 5 (i think) LEV single Axles. when the ban was brought into place and they got new Dennis Eagles, they decided to go with the 22m option for the whole fleet, and just have runners onboard. There isn't really trucks that only do Tight access as its own run now, just becomes part of the regulars trucks run, exception to this is FN21007, which is full time tight access Greens, doing all the dead enders, courts, and tight streets. this is one of our older trucks, on of 3 that got a refurb with facelift features' and paint jobs. The reverse waring is pretty nice, its all about safety now. and 9 out of our 16 truck have it. Single Axles seems to be a thing of a past, and not many are still buying them around here.
@@CitywideGarbo Ah yeah, makes sense if there isn’t really any dedicated tight access. Down here Veolia used to be all about single axles, whether it be 18m or the old single axle 25m, then they bought a bunch of facelift Acco 4x2 18m, but even now they’re gravitating towards 22m’s. In 2019 they bought a bunch of the small (I think they’re about 20m) SuperiorPak bodies but on 6x4s, and recently they purchased a new Iveco Sport SL200. Cleanaway on the other hand went straight to the 29m Ivecos
@@wasteintasmania haha those25ms we’re always nice, few decades ago, they were everywhere, citywide used to be all about single axle, having 2 euro 4s in the Melbourne contract, and 2 when they had manningham. @@CitywideGarbo nice, haha the tree destroyers, Cleanaway has a couple of them down here. In 2018, when Veolia won a contract from a company called Aussie Waste, we got a surprise when they bought 4 Euro 6 Volvos, 3 Xtreme’s and 1 GenV 25 (Big Bertha as they call it), their biggest truck in about 5 years. Then when all the councils introduced FOGO they bought the Volvos again with the small SuperiorPak bodies. They also bought one of the last Euro 5 Acco’s, with a GenV 18 body. The smallest truck ever since. Even Hobart City Council who collect garbage and recycling in house, recently bought 3 new Volvo SL180s. Some fairly tight spots around there but a lot of open streets.
