Gosh i forgot about that. Yes I typically cut myself, knock things i already glued on the layout (especially the lamps attached to the outside walls of buildings).
Very cool how you did this! Love your use of the foam as a base, the initial cover of the diluted white glue, the painting of the bricks and your method of adding the sanded grout dry and then spraying it with alcohol. Very cool results. Definitely will add this to my repertoire!!
Great instructional video, love the idea of the thin sections being built up to represent old plaster / render . Definitely one to remember and save .Many thanks from the UK🇬🇧
Nice build using foam. Would have never thought it would turn out that good. Are the scenic tables, chairs, people, etc. made from foam as well? I think that it wold be hard to do for HO scale but easier for O scale since I do both. Cheers from eastern TN
My wrist is from carpol tunnel from my day job (real estate finance). Thumb is from cooking dinner. So I would say model railroading is less hazardous than real life

Hi , Your video came up and it is a very informative idea . I also do this method for HO retaining walls , Viaducts , Tunnel portals etc . I use a solder iron and a metal straight edge . it is so much faster and gives excellent results .
I’m thinking my buildings are pretty fragile to remain overnight outside and the sun might fade the paint. If you stored them indoors Dr after use then maybe. Here are a couple of helpful articles I found www.mylargescale.com/threads/hollow-foam-buildings.88092/ or modelrailwayengineer.com/garden-railway-buildings-the-best-materials-to-use/amp/
using the tip guard of an electric clipper is what i use on foam . just scribe it along ..it makes suberb downward notches for brick as well

Un gioiellino di creazione. Complimenti.

I learn from different sources including war-game terrain modelers. Video people Night Shift, Black Magic Craft and others.
Charming little village

Proxon or equivalent is a revelation it makes that effect so easy to do.
Try carving those brick courses in ho 1/87 scale. Whole different ballgame.
Got to say the buildings look great, it will look fantastic when completed, really looking forward to more updates 👍
Thanks for the compliment. I’m thinking of making this into a fish market with displays of fish. It will be fun.
Nice technique. Well done...

Thanks. Been using this technique for a while. Used on bridges, buildings and recently on retaining walls.
@@TravelinginMiniature Thanks for the reply.
Thanks for showing the technique I'm doing Railway tunnel portals and walls etc...great look.
Good luck on the project. Are you going to make it in foam?

No just the buildings, retaining wall and staircase are made of foam. The chairs are 3 d printed, boat is made of paper.
EXCELLENT WORK😊
Glad you like it!
INCREDIBLE,
Thank you, glad you like it.
You progressed from a band-aid on you thumb to a wrist wrap. Just how hazzardous is this scratch building? Looks great. Thank you for sharing.

Small pencil soldering iron? Sounds promising. I presume you're wearing a mask so as to not inhale the fumes. Thanks for the tip!
Fantastic work! I love your figures - do you make them or are they commercially available?
I make them myself. Here is a how to video I made. ruclips.net/video/UWgmBVa4kOA/видео.html
Looking for an instructional on how to scale the size and find buildings to make. This would be the first step in an instructional video.
I like the video idea. Will put that into production soon.
More, more and more... Please...
Thanks. More is coming I promise!
Can anything be added to have these buildings outside?

Is this 1" thick foam?
1/2 inch
Is that blood on your ruler? Then in subsequent shots there is a bandaid on your thumb!? Good Lord, man! Be careful!!
Yes unfortunately I cut myself often. But knocking things over with my elbows or spilling glue is even more common. Hahaha.
