I’m sure you paid for it all but buying a place as remote as you have with all those wonderful tools and machines and stuff like that is just incredible Talk about aman’s playground! The individual started that up many years ago, knew what he was doing, and actually took quite good care of all his equipment. What a gold mine of tools and stuff for self-sufficiency. It’s like Christmas every day lol
That place is a gold mine, youve uncovered so many useful items and great spaces! I know youve put alot into I as well, but its like a treasure hunt out of there for us watching! Love the clear plastic porch covering, awesome idea! Lots of hard work but youve always have the biggest smiles at the end!👍✨
Loved all the work you got done and some fantastic repurposing of items you have on hand. Would be fun to sit out with coffee or hot chocolate in the mornings now that you have the clear sheets in place to make it warmer to sit out there. Coming along nicely!!!
Hope you kept those old windows, knock up some cold frames and you'll be able to start your vegetables extra early: the first one I ever had was made with old floor planks and an old window. So, seeds grown in the porch then planted out into a cold frame, luxury for the table.
If you guys have a leaf blower, it's a great tool to get rid of small dustings of snow. I live in Ontario (Canada) and use mine to clear my patio and my car 🙂
I like the way you used the clear corrugated panels for siding. I took a screenshot to show to my son. They have a nice porch but it would be much more pleasant in the winter with clear side panels. It would be easy to remove them for the summer. It has so be so satisfying to gain more covered space through cleaning out and organizing the sheds and carport.
Nice job. Hiding stuff for the winter. Don’t forget to put some sea foam in that rider so it will start in the spring. Or a bottle of heat. A bottle of heat in all the vehicles. Gas stations all have water in their fuel.
I love watching your videos as you accomplish important tasks to make life easier and to protect for the weather. Very satisfying! Thanks! p.s. suggestion: put the clear roofing panels across the top part of your carport walls for further protection there, while retaining the light.
Love how you guys keep finding stuff . I’m always pleasantly surprised 👏👏👏great idea for the clear siding on the porch. Really enjoy watching you work together
The Alaska carved out steel that you found is made by a lot of different people up there. When I lived there I had a friend who made those. They are actually made out of pieces of the pipeline. So it's really neat to have one of those. I hope you find a nice place to display it, even if it is outside or on the new Arctic entry. By the way, that turned out fantastic. You guys did a great job. You are really moving ahead in the cleanup. It's looking great! Use the bench top to make a bench for your new Arctic entry so you can sit on it to take your boots off and store underneath.
Your porch is now almost a greenhouse! Up against the house it will stay a little bit warmer. I bet in the spring you can move seed trays & starts out there to start hardening the plants off. Great idea putting the clear panels on the porch. ❤
I would take some more of that clear siding and attach it to the back part of the carport so the snow won't come inside. Also I would take that bench and put it up there in the top where you put the siding on, so you guys can sit there and put your shoes and boots on. And in the evening time y'all could just sit out there. If you want to you can close the entryway up at the steps and put that door there.
so i would take some of the wood from burn pile and fashion a temp wall and temp fit the door with the glass and close off the porch i would have also moved the wooden flooring up to the porch as well
I seriously like the clear roofing material on the side. You will really enjoy your greenhouse work there. All you need are some tables. I'm thinking of narrow wooden ones with shelves on the bottom. Just a suggestion.
❤wow that see thru roofing is perfect for that. Love it. 😍 Wonder if you could put up a screen door on that end and put that stuff on it too. Be nice to have it all closed off😊
Taking over a homestead you will find all kinds of goodies 👍, & yes a load for the dump, You guy's are making good usable space, Nice to keep important tools under roof :) Wishing I had a little loader like you have, Pretty handy at the homestead :)
When the weather warms, you should cut "bird blocks" for the end of the rafters and fill in the ends. that will prevent birds and insects from creating a home between the plywood and the rafters. Nice fix for the winter.
so i would take some of the wood from burn pile and fashion a temp wall and temp fit the door with the glass and close off the porch i would have also moved the wooden flooring up to the porch as well and use the bench pad for a seat up there to take boots off
Brrrrrr looks really cold - we still at 54 degrees so not nearly close to snow yet - it used to snow around this time but stopped doing so about 3 or 4 years ago.♦ Good thing you got those jobs done now☺
think it worked out great with the clear panel, wouldent bother taking it down in the summer, just keep it like that all year round and you can have plants there in the summer which will have a bit of geenhouse effect
Get rid of wd40!!! The absolute worst thing you can use to loosen rusty parts! Get spray lithium grease or if you must starting fluid. Starting fluid has a built in lubricant. Wd40 may work for a day, but it attracts moisture and makes your rust problem a lot worse. Love your channel
I used to restore old wooden sailing boats. If metal parts needed 'loosening up' we'd drop them into a bucket with coca cola. Not sure if pepsi works the same.
Lucy and Gypsy are precious. I am so sorry about their injuries. Ouch! After being all snuggly warm in the house at night, are Lucy and Gypsy getting aklemated to the extremely cold weather if they go outside with Dad or Mom in the morning?
Wondering if that pocket created by putting that plywood up there will make a good spot for a nest/home for some critter? Since they could still access from the outside.
There's another couple that live up in Alaska better selling their side by side I believe. They did a video on it about a week ago because he got a new one.
The porch looks good. But wouldn't it have been better to put the overlapping pieces on the outside rather than on the inside? That way, any water that blows onto it will not run into the crack and come inside.
Genius! It is a great fix for winter weather, and it solves the need for this year's Arctic entry!
This was a fun one! You hit a goldmine with this property with all the things left behind to save you from buying what you need.
Another great video that should help a lot keep the snow in the wind away. You guys did good. Thank you for sharing.❤

I think the clear roofing up on the porch is going to be a great addition. And the carport is a great addition after cleaning it out. Good job.

Looks good and will help with the heat keep it warmer ,yep I like it 😮

You guys are doing such a great job. Like watching you . Hard workers
That door from the lean-to might work for an entry door for your now enclosed porch
My exact thoughts. It’s is full view glass so it will allow all the light in and not block those beautiful views.
I like the way you used the clear corrugated panels for siding. I took a screenshot to show to my son. They have a nice porch but it would be much more pleasant in the winter with clear side panels.

You two are so cute and work so well together! I love seeing all the tidy transformations 😊

Great job done 😊
I like the woodspirit guarding the entrance and deck.
The porch troll 😂🤣
Its an absolute joy watching the two of you work together. ❤

I was thinking the same thing about the clear panels on the carport! :-)
OMG a real LOL The other way would be pulling! l am still laughing you guys are awesome 😂 Alaska porch is a great idea. 👍

It looks good guys. Great job!

Maybe you can use that wood framed glass door under the carport at the bottom of your staircase to make an entrance at the top of the stairs
Great video 😊😊
You sure received a treasure trove.
Great job on decking area

You could add hanging plant hooks to the above studs. Growing lettuce and herbs from the baskets.

We did that, and it works great. In the summer, we don't take all of them down.

Yeah Julie she's the muscle in the family

Love the gnome ❤
The dogs might even like that......😂

We use areo croil best thing to fight rust
Send that snow down here to Louisiana
I’m Tyler’s brother good video
Summer in South Africa. Already 40'C.

Can you use the door up at the top of the stairs to close it in.

Oh no jinx buy you a coke you two know each other to well lol😅
I do know how to spell "acclimated," but I have long nails, and I often hit the wrong keys. Usually, I remember to proofread before sending.
Have you thought of closing in the carport and making it into a garage?
Can you use that door at the top of the stairs? And use the red bench for a place on the porch to sit and take off your boots
Could you use that door as an entry door at the top of your stairs to your arctic porch?
Hello guys from North Carolina , tks for video. All is looking really good. Much love and blessings to ya.......
Jane DEER!

Put on a door at the stairs.
Why does she want to send all the good usable pieces to the goodwill station, not knowing what is usable.😢
