Imagine being a grass type that take neutral damage from water attacks and take 4x damage from ice attacks. Grass/Ground dual typing is absolute trash even in casual playthrough. Picking Torterra makes an already difficult battle with Cynthia even more of the challenge, because Torrtera can't even deal with Milotic
Grass/Ground is excellent typing, it gives to originally grass pokemon an advantage over fire types and lets learn coverage rock moves against flying and ice types. Most likely torterra will survive infernape's flare blitz and OHKO him with an earthquake cause of his bulk. Torterra is also good against Electric types, not only getting resistance like other Grass types, but also having super effective moves against them.
Gliscor can learn rock polish which we can get in Mt. Cornet on the west enterence by Eterna after getting strength and rock smash. If one doesn't wanna breed for agility, this serves as a viable alternative
Also I think it’s possible to beat Pokémon Diamond and Pearl (DS) with only 3 Pokémon. Those 3 Pokémon are Infernape (with thunder punch), Roserade, and Dialga

What was your reasoning to pick jolteon over magnezone? I feel like although jolteon is not weak to flint and malene, magnezone has many helpful resistances, as it resists candice’s ice movrs, half of cynthias milotic’s moves, all of roserade’s moves, aron’s bug moves, byrons steel moves, and lucians psychic types. It also has sturdy, it has way better special attack than jolteon, and, although slower, can live a hit with its base 115 defense, and strike back with 135 sptak tbolts. It also learns flash, for the accuracy part.
@ananas7496 my rules limit the use of items to healing items on the pokemon in battle. Revives and x items are not allowed. To me, this is a fair compromise to make it feasible to win battles while being so underleveled. The wrong teams can't win even with healing items, so it's still possible to determine the strongest teams with this rule set.
@@wormHD I’m still experimenting with the second restriction, but the second restriction theoretically forces you to create a team that is best optimized against the Elite 4, so I use it in my own playthroughs. I didn’t use that restriction for MysticUmbreon’s best Unova team.

@@TWitWoW thank you so much!
Omg torterra is my all time favorite starter, tysm for making a team with it!
@@rishabhmodak1755 no problem! Torterra is the first starter I ever used for this game, so coming up with this team was extra fun due to the nostalgia

Scratch sturdy, i forgot in gens 1-4 sturdy is trash
@@rishabhmodak1755 Magnezone isn't accessible before battling Wake. That's why I picked Jolteon

Hi,
Liked the team. However, don't like that you use in battle items like Potions and so! xD
Have a nice day.

@@DFuegoH Shure, of course! I would prefer to level up a bit and not use any items, but your rules are your rules and it's a really good team!
One question though, do the trainers not switch its pokemon if yawned?
No they don’t
I have a question about revives: Are they disallowed all together or only in battle?
I think only in battle. This isn't nuzlocke, certain strategies with Pokémon at such low levels just cannot allow for switches
@ktosmiy9701 yea that makes sense
@@wormHD they’re disallowed in battle and in between elite 4 fights (so that I don’t have to spend too much money on revives)
@ so I understand that the second restriction is not necessary?
